  • now if a man can move this good on stage what and i mean what do you think he could do in the bedroom np disrespect to the dead

  • The best part of this performance is how absolutely effortless it is. Today's performers couldn't compete with Jackie Wilson NOT TRYING.

  • "No lip-sinking here

  • great song, great performer

  • love the way his legs move.always love his music.

  • Nice! So often during that period, when artists would perform for a "live music video" (before there were actual music videos), they would lip-sync to the studio recording. NOT THIS MAN! Listen to that tempo, and that piercing falsetto! This is awe inspiring!

  • @eiddezepope BLOODY AMAZING FALSETTO!!!!

This guy has all of the talent.

A lot of people think they can do it, but to hit perfect pitch, just incredible.

  • This vido shows why people thought Jackie Wilson was electrifying.

  • this is badazz.

fyi jackie was the first performer thee weemon used to throw their panties at.

Now, we can see he was truly amazing!!

  • ELVIS ES PARBULO DE JACKIE,ELVIS IS A FOOL & JACKIE IS A MASTER YOU KNOW WATH IS A TEACHER OK.

  • JACKIE HAD SOME STRONG LEGS ON HIM!

  • THE TEMPO WAS TOO FAST BUT STILL WAS A GOOD PERFORMANCE

  • A black Elvis.

  • @MrTotallyDave NAH NOT A BLACK ELVIS BUT NEVER SEEN ELVIS DO IT LIKE THAT

  • @MrTotallyDave ALSO ELVIS BORROWED JACKIE'S STYLE SO SAY ELVIS IS A WHITE JACKIE WILSON

  • @MrTotallyDave lmao you mean elvis white jackie he copied jackie and other black artist style of music

  • You know, once, I was downhearted, dissapointment was my closest friend, then she came and he soon departed then my girlfriend moved away, left me, and now that motherfuckers back! BRUTAL. So dissapointed.

  • Love to have seen him live -electricity!

  • Why the fuck was I born in the 90s?!

    I wish it was earlier...

  • elvis is actually on record as saying that watching jackie wilson perform made him want to crawl under the table because he was so good.

  • I disagree @horsesshotatdawn. It wouldn't be the same if it was in black & white. Colour is the way to go!

  • What a star !!

  • oh snap! Mister got some wicked dance moves.! 0.o

  • watching Jackie emphasises how bad the x factor is. Legend!

  • What can I say. Just mind blowing.

  • Jackie Wilson is love

  • Jackie was an incredible talent in so many areas. Nothing comes close to this era of soulful music and dance. The best thing about music today is YouTube ... so we all may listen to truly wonderful music.

  • @gaffneymusic But what about Foxy Shazam?

  • Excellent! Very influential soul artist, not least on Northern Soul dancing styles! ktf

  • Watching Ghostbusters 2 made me want to look this up.

  • They don't call him Mr. Excitement for nothing!

  • @green500 hahaha and what kind of music does the pride of white people listen too? Hahaha durp a durp a durp. You only wish your race could be so soulful at singing, great at sports and all the rest. I'm not even black son!! You put our race to shame. Hick wanker

  • @green500 I'm not sure what you mean.

  • He looks sober compared to Elvis. that is one cool cat.

  • people who dislike won't go higher and higher when they're gone

  • @horsesshotatdawn it's just a shame people had such an ignorant mentality back when there were so many talented artists who just happened to be black :(

  • He used to take salt tablets to make him sweat on stage cos 'the chicks dig it'.

  • love the red suit fits him nice

  • what a great voice that man had just great :-)

  • I used to see Jackie all the time when I was a kid in Detroit...Just amazing....

  • Stereomood sent me here :D

  • One of the most dynamic performers to ever live.

  • He raped this song I don't think it can be sung any better than that

  • amazing

  • @horsesshotatdawn Couldn't agree more, very well said!

  • @horsesshotatdawn I love it. In the first minute I can see and hear how he influenced Jackson, Elvis and Cee lo Green

  • @chilichickSantaFe - The story is that Jackie Wilson and Elvis Presley were friends.

  • @horsesshotatdawn Amen. This was Jackie's song, and he rocked it. Period.

  • @horsesshotatdawn nah he a black man nigga

  • Man, Jackie you influenced the stage presence of so many performers, thank you for so many hours of entertainment.

  • wish i could dance..........

  • Holy shit that suit and boots are awesome.

  • Wow! I can see why Van Morrison wrote a song to him!

  • ima huge fan of jackie wilson, diana ross, the temptations and many black soul music from the 60s...and im white,i celebrate great music what ever colour they are :)) music universal, and all i can say to the african americans is that if you see a white guy singing motown, please dont diss him, support him cos he is promoting your music :) xx

  • the world would be without the black man

  • @bonesolo NO CRIME LOL,IM ONLY JOKING,UR RIGHT,WITHOUT THE BLACK MAN,NO GREAT SINGERS,NO BEYONCE,NO KELLY ROWLAND FOR A WHITE GUY LIKE ME TO DREAM OFF :))

  • That's All Of That Cocaine In His System That Is Why He's Moving

  • This is the song I listen to when I'm smoking up.. higher higher...

  • Watch all of his live perfomances. He is the greatest. Vocally, noone comes close. All of us that sing know that. You young singers out there , try to sing along with Jackie on, A woman, a Lover a Friend or Light My Fire. Dont feel bad. He stands alone.Check out my videos on Brucevob.

  • This man, along with James Brown, Michael Jackson himself emulated his style from...my ONLY critique is this....what's the HECK is up with the outfit?!?!?!? Lol....

  • classic !

  • what a performer :D

  • He owns this song. Whoever wrote it was blessed he sang it.

  • i put this song on when im in love ^.^ and i have a good ol jolly time by myself :D hehe..

  • Jimmy Mack and Higher And Higher was one of the first 45's I bought when I was old enough to buy records....MJ was definitely influced by Jackie Wilson...

  • i woke up with this song playing in my mind. so i had to play it and im in a good mood. haha

  • Race is bullshit. Music is meant to inspire others. Jackie Wilson, Elvis, Little Richard, its not a damn competition. Lets just focus on the fact that we have a bunch of incredible music, not who did what. Seriously, guys.

  • @elbowonfire Even then, politics of any kind should be kept out of Music and Comedy. Thought I'd add comedy in.. ;)

  • this is missing in any of the spiderman movies..awesome

  • Thank you, Ghostbusters. I missed this song by a few generations lol

  • black or white FUCK IT its music enjoy it.......although theres prob more white ppl view this than black......great song to all the races.......ENJOY

  • We made a toaster dance with this stuff.

  • The black Elvis.

  • @JonnyG003 If anything Elvis is the white Jackie Wilson. Jackie came out first. Check it out if you don't believe me. Elvis even admitted borrowing from him. He's quoted on one of Jackie's box sets.

  • @Lionel4482 "A lot of people have accused Elvis of stealing the black man's music, when in fact, almost every black solo entertainer copied his stage mannerisms from Elvis" - Jackie Wilson.

  • @JonnyG003actually Elvis stole his music from a black man little Richard and if black people stole there music from Elvis wouldn't that mean black people got there music from other black people

  • @shadow1shouldfear i'm just posting a quote from jackie you can talk to him about it.

  • @JonnyG003 not seeing how that's entirely true when some of them were doing there thing before Elvis came around. If you found that quote from Jackie Wilson, I'd like to know the source. I watched a documentary on Elvis where it said he went around to different places where blacks were performing and used what he learned on stage.

  • @Lionel4482 I really could care less, just makes more sense to say he's the black elvis rather than saying elvis is the white jackie wilson and yes the quote is a real quote from Jackie Wilson. You can look it up yourself. They are both good performers no point in arguing just enjoy the music.

  • @JonnyG003 doesn't make sense to call him the black Elvis either. They both sang different styles and different genres. You're right about one thing just enjoy the music. Jackie is my favorite singer of all time and it's a pet peeve of mine when they call him the black Elvis. There's even a book with that title that I didn't even bother to read. He didn't have the success of Elvis. I guess that's one reason I don't like the saying.

  • @Lionel4482 jackie is my favorite performer ever and i prefer him to elvis but i can see why one would say he's the black elvis, for the simple fact that elvis is one of the most famous man ever while jackie is not.if you said elvis is the black jackie wilson most people would be like......"jackie who..?"

  • I dont think they make nikes in her size ray

  • OMG ... University of Michigan, fall of 1967 .... heard on CKLW (Windsor,Ontario ... "The Motor City") ... lfie is good and I'm crying - but's it's a good cry!!

  • WOW HE IS HHIIIGGHHH

  • Super Great....

  • "Study the greatests and become greater"Michael Jackson...

  • Check out the BASS PLAYER!!!!WOW CLASS!!!!!!!!!

  • briliant

  • I am 17 and my mom took me to see the Temps last year Good music is good music

  • pure legend

  • he was known for raping women. patti labelle was forced to keep quiet about him assaulting her. look it up people! it's fucked up! because they were black women though, he never went to jail because, unfortunately, no one cares when black men rape black women. : (

  • Jackie Wilson was one of the all time greats. Great singer, great entertainer and great showman. He gave an out effort virtually everytime he performed. Still don't think he gets the credit he deserved!! What an incredible artist, got to see him numerous times.

  • I heard Jackie is doing 5 shows a night

    Up in Heaven....S,R.O..... :-)

  • @valerock667 Fuck you, you ignorant cunt.

  • i work 250 miles away from my wife and daughter most of each month and i listen to this song every day,....its the only drug i need...

  • I'm not black either but never stupid enough to fail to check the record for drug use , paganism , satanism , criminal activities.

most bands and artists don't pass that test.

  • This is what drugs can do for you kids , it can make you sing like a god and do drugs like a devil.

The drugs took everything from jackie.

Don't let this happen to you.

  • looking at all the remakes and am apposed to them , if the song is too well known it can become off limmits.

the song is fast but can be slowed down and still work.

anyway , it's one of the greatest songs of all time , to spite it's flaws such as talking about a lover as if they were God himself.

    jackie WILL be punished.

  • Epic! Such an amazing talent, and such a loss to the music industry, and to us the audience. Go Jackie!!! Wooooooohooo!

  • Jackie Wilson is a baaaaaad boyyyyy!!!! (Yes, I said 'is') So talented! I just watched the 'Lonely Teardrops' performance video and he had me grinning from ear to ear thee ENTIRE performance! Elvis learned from the best! I'm not mad @ him, though. Jackie was THAT DUDE!

  • frikin the best

  • His range is absolutely amazing.

  • Love Jackie Wilson - RIP

  • Again, I just love this version of Jackie's HIGHER AND HIGHER, like I do all of his other live versionsof the song. I wish someone could show him singing HIGHER AND HIGHER when he was on Soul Train.

  • I just love this performance of Jackie Wilson. Red suit, rocking beat, vibrant dance, soulful singing! Just the whole darn package. A complete artist and entertainer was he. Jackie (the man) Wilson! I love him.

  • I see why MJ loved Jackie Wilson

  • I dance like like that when I'm washing the dishes.

  • @ElvisLivesUpstairs :Me too!!

  • @ElvisLivesUpstairs And you sir are a hero! Everyone ought to have such soul when washing up!

  • He's awesome!! And I'm diggin' those pirate boots!

  • I FUCKING LOVE JACKIE WILSON

  • The 44 haters and their ilk of this timeless masterpiece, that is gloriously beautiful and pleasing to the ears can not write a note, sing in symphony, harmony, or rhapsody. THEY can not even hum or sing a tune. Cacophony of the eternal malady is their only melody.

  • Such Talent!! What a "sad" ending for him! :( Excellent Performer.. RIP>>

  • This is my guilty pleasure song! It can grab ahold of my heart anytime I hear it.

  • What the hell ever happened to having CLASS......? This is CLASS.

  • 44 people have herpes in their eyes and ears

  • you got some moves brother!

  • Black Elvis? Really?!?

I swear, the more of these classic videos I watch, the dumber the comments get.

Such a shame that such great songs have some pitiful responses.

  • Jackie started out as a boxer. He must of been as cool and a badass as he was on stage. This guy's got excitement coming out of that jumpsuit all over the place.

  • Yeah Ghostbusters babyyyyyyyyyyyy !!!!!! :D

  • Classic like shakespeare!!! Seriously!!!

  • Imagine this guy on Xfactor. ? No...Too much tallent here for a cheap tv show. Great song and a legindary singer. These songs will be history soon. A Tragedy of the youth today.

  • @AMikeOnLine God, what a cringeworthy comment. You know that we're not all sat around watching/Listening to those X-Factor morons, and that the music playing on the airwaves only scratches the surface of the hundreds of talented people still working nowadays, right? Get the hell over yourself.

  • @hdsnake33881 Common Man mj dance and choregraphy were so more difficult than Jackie wilsons.MJ inspired from this guy for the charisma on stage and became 100 Times better even better than James Brown and fred astaire.

  • Greatest inspiration of Michael Jackson...

  • @frankito78

one of the greatest, another one was James Brown :)

  • They're playing double time...tres cool.....

  • I should have been born years ago...the music was so much better then

  • My Aunt saw Mr Wilson at Highland Park High

  • any one elsed think this song is too legend?

  • Now I see where Elvis got his swagggg frommmmm #thisguy

  • music at its best. end of.

  • When it came to singing & dancing, Michael Jackson NEVER had anything on Jackie Wilson. Jackie was the best at what he did.

  • @hdsnake33881 what a weird thing to say... i would say that MJ was the best at what he did. these 2 have different styles, so why compare em?

  • @reaxor What a weird thing to say??? You just said that you said a weird thing. You said EXACTLY what I said except for who you were lauding. I said Jackie was the best at what he did i.e. singing and dancing. You said it was Michael Jackson. MJ might never have had his style if not for studying Jackie Wilson. Jackie had a stage presence that was unheard of before him. I always hated when someone would call him the "black Elvis." It was more like Elvis was the white Jackie Wilson.

  • @hdsnake33881 I agree that he wasn't the black Elvis. Elvis was the white Jackee lol but Mj did get his own style as an adult. He brought alot of street dances to the masses.

  • 1:37... how was that possible?

  • take it to the house Jackie!
