  • @SomeSunshineOutside we are....

  • Sounds pretty good.

    Buen Cover

  • That's not the first string, it's the sixth. And this is wrong, you're missing the the ninth that's present in the voicing you start with.

And if you're going to post tutorials on how to play the guitar, at least get the terminology right, ffs.

  • thanks man i wanted to learn how to play this and i went to the usual tab sites and was like, wft this is wrong. thats for posting this it sounds great and is better than anything else out there right now!

  • im sorry i watched again and im wrong

  • its false watch the scotch mist

  • You've got it all wrong if you're goal is to sound accurate.. And BTW, it's capo on the 2nd

  • I don't think it is 100% right but it certainly sounds like the song.

  • @paulalex17 The cape being on the third is about the only thing correct about this tutorial.

  • no its on the 3rd, but the voicing is a bit off

  • really bad. i dont want to be jeallous, i'm just true.

  • that's wrong

  • nicely done!

  • AMAZING SHIT!

  • WOW GRACIAS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lol.

  • ur an idiot

  • wow awesome it sound very good thanks

  • this proof what jhonny grenwood said.. "anyone can play guitar" =)

  • I can't hear Thom hammer on.

  • ...what's with the thumbs down? I can't hear it either, nor can I see him play it in any of the live versions.

This is good for an early interpretation of the song, and it's good as a variation + as a tutorial for the way keanbean performs it, but it's inaccurate to the actual song.

  • Precisely, cheers.

  • is there any way to play this song without a capo like moving it up like 4 frets or would that be impossible because of the open strums

  • impossible unless you formulated new chords to correlate with the other strings :)

  • but, since 1:38 is what the second guitar is suposed to play or just another way to play it ?

  • fffuck, ill try get a capo tomarrow... or I´ll try the rubber band lol

  • This is better than anything i could find man!! Thnx

  • Sucks that my capo thing is broken.

  • hahaha mine too...

  • nice, nice. thank you. really helped me

  • thnx pal. Well done.

  • Could you just say the chord names or something

  • Good instruction - I was wondering why though, that you refer to the strings in the reverse sequence i.e. What you identify as the 3rd string is technically the 4th etc. You seem to be counting the strings backwards which might be confusing. Just an observation.

  • Amazing. Thank you, sir.

  • What guitar are you using? Ibanez V72-ECE?

  • Takamine EF 325 SRC

  • Oh. But thanks.

  • thanks

  • thanks

    good vid

  • a bit off but nice job

  • Thanks alot for this video, have been searching for a video like this, is there a webpage where the tabs are or something like it which i could use?

Btw watched the video when the two of you played it and it was avesome. not just the guitar but the vocals where just as good. 5*

  • thanks a lot...!

  • bro, thanks!

  • What kind of guitar is that?

  • Comment removed

  • this sucks... much better to read a tab..

  • not for this song...its really hard to find a good tab. unless any1 found one

  • I apologize for not being familar with the guitar lingo, but what do you mean by "drop D"?

  • You tune your 6th string (thickest) from E to D

  • so if you fret the E string at the 8th fret it should be the same note as the A string (the one below the thickest).

That is how to get your guitar in Drop D.

  • seventh fret, not eighth.

  • check it by playing 7th fret, low E string and compare it to the 0 fret on the A. then do 8th on the e and 1st on the A to double check. tuning down from E to D is about a 180 degree nob turn

  • thank you

bein wantin to learn this for a while

    100%

  • cay-po. :P

You mean cap-oh dude. sorry to nit pick, but it was funny.

  • Wrong on the string numbers, ie 1 = e, 2 = b, 3 = g, etc. but thanks for posting!

  • yeah, he's counting from up to down...

  • my homey givin lessons. gotta love it.thanks man

  • oye esta super bien pero en si la cancion es muy complicada pero te lucistes

  • no,, it's not the same , you know that it don' sound as well ,

  • very helpful, very well done. What more can I say, ur awesome!

  • porque no me da el tono mi guitarra ....?? suena muy bajo y no alcanza la nota??

  • Great :) I just need som practice on 1.28-1.30

  • Nice

  • is there a way u can play this song w/o a capo? cuz i dont own one =X

  • On your ipod...

  • @seamonster777 I LISTEN TA FUCKIN RADIOHEAD and i'm a girl. makes me feel infinite.

  • you can use a pencil and a couple of rubber bands though, loop up the rubber bands a couple of times so they're difficult to stretch, then put one end of the pencil through the loop in the rubber bands, then put the pencil on the fret you want to capo, in this case 3, then pull the rubber band back around the neck and loop in back over the other end of the pencil. It should hold there if you've made the rubber bands tight enough

  • loop it*

  • No man, it sounds great on acoustic kean.

    GG!

  • this is dope, sounds great, thanks dude. im now motivated to go get a new capo.

  • thom doesnt use a capo. this could be another version thats all..

  • yeah he does

  • Christ...he DOES use a capo. Watch Scotch Mist, Live From Godfret's Basement, or HMMM GO SEE THEM LIVE?

Yes, in all of these instances, I've seen them use a capo.

  • or the Jooles Holland vid i just watched...this vid had a link to it...

  • but thom doesn't use a capo on this song

  • He does; watch one of their basement recordings like Scotch Mist, Live from Godfrey's Basement, etc.

  • u should pay it on the electric guitar but good job i learnd easy

  • yay :]

    i needed this

    superb job.

  • Excellent tutorial, thanks!

  • your explanation was clear and i was with you the whole way. Awesome.

  • good tabing BUT....DUDE, we don't call no fret zero because we feel like it!!!! frets have numbers, CAPO OR NO CAPO!!! you've done my 'ead in! shit...

  • true story.

  • Index finger

And that's the 6th string, not the first.

  • its called the index finger not the pointer finger.. gd tut

  • Sounds right, but it sounds a little high though. Well thats just me talking.

    Great job though.

  • Great video. That's the most intuitive interpretation I've found. Have you tabbed it anywhere? I kind of need to look at it on paper before I get it.

  • hey, in general, nice how to, but i need some help on something youve done fast that i always had difficulty picking up : the strumming. id like you to clear up for me like how many times you strum a certain chord and stuff like that. great job again

  • nice capo.

    thanks. this was helpful.

  • allow me to call you friend. my friend thank's for helping me to play a song from one of the few bands that still keeps me having faith in music. again thank u. greetings from the beautifull Azores islands.

  • what island ?

  • thanks for the help, and that was played so good with that other bloke

  • that was great really helpful thanks. i cant help but laugh at how you say capo though :P

  • lol i know, caypo. But great tutorial

  • that's how u pronounce it

  • Thats how it's pronounced in the more proper American English. Capppo means something entirely different over here.

  • usually you don't find "tutorials" to rely on just like this one, and i must say that im not like this... but you made me save some time figuring out this... uhm so thanks i'll say and keep up the GOOD WORK!!

  • Good Tutorial, Keep em coming.

  • oh i forgot to drop it to d, sorry..

  • cool. yeah, i don't know if this is exactly the way it's performed. it just sounds right to me

  • and turkey rules, man. merhaba, tessekurler

  • thank you very much..but i think in the chord while singing "fall of the table.." the 1st string may be played on the 3rd fret rather than 5th

  • yahh totally awesome thanks!!!

  • If you play the first string open the whole time, why not just capo the top five frets?

  • I meant why not just capo the top five strings, to avoid having to retune.

  • if he moved the capo to the 5th fret that would change the key youre in thus changing the note on that open string so it wouldnt sound the same

  • it would still be off by a half step

  • thank u, this helped a lot!

  • one of my favorites... if you could figure out how to play weird fishes arpeggi and faust arp would be great... cheers

  • i just started trying to work out faust arp with my guitar teacher, it's a beast of a song to play.

  • It's really quite straight forward, if your teacher is struggling with it than you should be concerned.

  • oooooh la de da!

    :)

considering he'd never heard it before i brought it to my lesson and it's pretty complicated rhythmically i think my teacher did ok to work it out by ear in half an hour...

  • Yeah, that was a pretty bitchy comment on my part, and half an hour is fine for a tune like that. I inferred from your post that your instructor was really having issues getting it together, which would be a cause for concern, but I must have been in a bad mood.

    :)

  • cheers mate

  • cheers mate, class tune. now i can play all of in rainbows. THANK YOU!!!

  • don't want to be an asshole, but i feel i should warning that you're numbering the strings wrong.

  • just downloaded the album and listened to house of cards, your version sounds very precise. kudos

  • excellent, cheers for that.

  • thanks man, i love this song so much, i guess you must too.

i'll get my guitar down tommorow and follow your instructions. well done mate, its a bit complicated.

  • thanks a ton..
