@DeadManWalking65 I am greek american. i've been many times. one of my cousins over there is an artist and has a fervor for jazz like no other. we often jam when i visit. i was about to say initially that in a cafe there you can often here the coolest examples of this american art form that we've all but forgotten here. what i really want is something as cool and original as this. not mere cover...no matter how good it is. sadly most of what we get even in nyc is mostly cover house bands.

For the literal...Bruce decides he wants to be hyper-busy, leaving the bass line wanting for an RnB tune. Listen to 1:18 - 1:24, that's Scheisse. 1f:50 to 1:52 he sounds pretty hip even though busy. Bottom line (pun intended): When you're playing with Buddy Guy let him solo. But to your point about playing ahead of the beat (also known as rushing, not good), I notice that at :48 the beat goes to shit for a second, which I wouldn't expect from Buddy Miles; very strange moment there.

Jack is really hyper busy here; agreed. It's one of those things you either like or don't. It tends to piss off guitar players who expect the bass player to just play within the beat. I see what you mean about Jack. That's just him. I love it, but I can see where people don't. It's just one of those things.
