  • to me there s something wrong....buddy guys voice s speddeed up.....

  • Drummers - 2:25 can't be right, right?

  • @ppetracco Hell yeah it's right. Bad ass lick.

  • @mamacornettesmoney So right it's wrong. LOL

  • @mamacornettesmoney No, I mean the video editing...

  • @ppetracco Gotcha. It does look like the editor spliced in a shot that was taken at another time.

  • Can i get an Amen??

  • his voice is so awesome and I can hardly make out the words lol but it just hits you like WTF but in a good way the first time you hear it..that and the fact that he's just so into it too..probably my favourite on the dvd. Every song with Buddy is wicked!

  • Thanks for posting. It's nice to see so many great musicians on the stage at one time. This is great stuff!

  • Whats the name of the drug, they got ;-)

  • @torgos talent.

  • Jack Bruce is so goofy in this one. Or stoned either one

  • (Posted by Youtube Stream for iPhone (yst.me) on behalf of tikahii at twitter)

  • How can one man get to sing so incredibly and play the guitar like a demon?

  • i would absolutely crap myself SILLY if I heard this stuff comin' out of a club in the present day. i wish i had a time machine.

  • @green95gt, you should come to Greece my friend.

  • @DeadManWalking65 I am greek american. i've been many times. one of my cousins over there is an artist and has a fervor for jazz like no other. we often jam when i visit. i was about to say initially that in a cafe there you can often here the coolest examples of this american art form that we've all but forgotten here. what i really want is something as cool and original as this. not mere cover...no matter how good it is. sadly most of what we get even in nyc is mostly cover house bands.

  • @DeadManWalking65 Δεν ήξερα που παίζουν μουσική σαν αυτή στην Ελλάδα, έχω ποτέ δεν ήταν εκεί xaxaxa

  • @theomegleyouhate it's never too late though, you are welcome ;)

  • @DeadManWalking65 I thinking I'm going to greece for the first time next summer, i hope they get down like this there hahaha : )

  • @DeadManWalking65 epeidh kai gw eimai apo ellada, pou akrivws na akousei sthn ellada tetoia?fantazomai ennoeis tous blueswire kai to ntounoush?

  • @DeadManWalking65 nai to fantazomai mias kai gw o idios vadizw se blues monopatia me mpanta kai apelpizomai mera me th mera edw sthn ellada :P gia pes pantws kamia mpanta na xoume upopsin edw pera

  • @DeadManWalking65 one ring to rule them all

  • @green95gt you should go to the country we still do it like that.... try memphis new orleans or anywhere in MS

  • @green95gt there are quite a few places in boston where kids from the berklee college play, and some are actually real good :)

  • One word : Wow!

  • Yeah Buddy, I hear hear ya bro!

  • Is Angus Young on bass?

  • @Tinazzone very funny. Its Jack Bruce.

  • Stevie Ray Vaughn was a huge Buddy Guy fan.

  • When I watch this I feel like my heart is torn out and I get tears in my eyes. I dont understand why the blues makes you feel it so deep in your guts. SRV did the same thing on Austin City Limits. I was wrecked! GOD BLESS THEM ALL FOR THE WONDERFUL JOY THEY BRING US! LONG LIVE THE BLUES AND ROCK AND ROLL!

  • Awesomnesssssssssssss

  • i never understood the big deal about this buddy guy......albert king and freddy king were much better players !

  • @ronnied828 Buddy Guy kicks everyone in the dick.

  • @spicyMcHAGGIS9green

lol i couldn't have had better words xD

  • @spicyMcHAGGIS9green except Buddy Miles is wearing a steel cup, so he doesn't feel it.

  • @3rdStoneObliterum Everyone in this video kicks everyone who is not in this video, in the dick.

  • @3rdStoneObliterum i think tooo

  • Buddy guys solo's are shit.

  • @England5is5the5best Only to someone with no rythmn

  • ¡Grande!!!

  • The guy in the front with the shades and hat, at the :59 mark, looks like Lemmy from Motorhead. Great song. Love the blues.

  • ALL OF YOU, FIND YOURSELF A COPY OF THIS DVD.

  • this is the sickest, illest, stratospheric ass-kickin' I ever saw on drums and lead guitar. you can't hit it any sweeter than this. out of control bass drum by Buddy Miles and vicious, slicing razor guitar voicings by Buddy Guy. AAAAHHHHHHHHHH! Sicker than sick. This shit is SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • smokin'

  • MY GOD THAT WAS INTENSE!

  • the way buddy sings in this video and at that time he was the best

  • wow, thats so amazing.....,thanks for sharing

  • Buddy's Finest!!!

hey i steel likes him :-).

but this was his quest for the mojo hand.

now he got the jojo one :-(

yeah...i gott me i's on george there.

  • well drop my drawers.....

  • HOOOO JOJOJOJ GREATGREAT!!!!

    VERY NICE THE Supershow! XD

  • Jack Bruce always looked like a rabbit to me.

  • @willwelsh816 that easy to say when nobody can see your face, coward! anyway, what s wrong with rabbits?

  • I first saw this on VHS or Beta way back when, it was kind of tough to come by. Actually I think I bought it at a vinyl show and it was a horrid multi gen VHS bootleg of whatever was the original source. Anyway Buddy G blew our teenaged minds.

  • Buddy was a phenomenally talented man, he is much missed by those who knew and loved him.

  • @oshngrl - Judging by the tour dates on his myspace page (you should be able to guess the URL...), I don't think he knows he's dead yet! ;)

  • @oshngrl - Ah, *that* Buddy........ XD

  • buddy guy , Jack bruce and buddy miles dosent get much better then that

  • Man if this isn't singing I don't know what it....!

  • He may have slightly influenced Stevie, LOL!

    Just a tad.

  • Buddy guy is extraordinary

  • so ripper!!

  • they fuckin killed it

  • Great vocalist, he doesn't sing much in newer videos of him, great to see him in his prime.

  • @ripoffhitman I HAD PRIVILEGE OF SINGING AND PLAYI NG HARMONICA AT BUDDY GUY'S CLUB ONE NIGHT AT OPEN JAM, AND GOT CHANCE TO MEET HIM, WAS AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE

  • Ohh yeah, super nice. While they all look so young, comparatively speaking ;-] Buddy Guy played at the King Eddie bar in Calgary, 1991 with his band of the time. It was a blessing for me, to see him in such a small venue. My first album in 1963, had him playing in a compilation; I think it was a Chess recording? Anyway, Buddy has legs!

  • oh man that was the fucking best.

  • me encanta como toca jack bruce, genial el bajo

  • his drum sticks are just sticks, no head. or is he holding em backwards?

  • they could make a supergroup, it was march 1969, cream was over, buddy was not with jimi, and buddy guy was always solo

    would be awesome or what!?

  • insane jam, gods of music in one song

  • FANTASTIC CLIP!

  • Look at Buddy MIles at 2:01, is that shit funny or what? He's lookin' up to the moon as Guy goes into his 2nd solo. Is this shit exciting or what? Then listen to Buddy Miles' bass drum and flam at 2:24, that shit is SICK! Play on Buddy, both of ya. This tune gets me happy every time I hear it, about once a month for uplifting.

  • You gotta love rrk just siting there with his downbeat hall of fame induction being uber black..

  • If Hendrix was the Miles Davis of guitar, then Buddy Guy is the John Coltrane. Rock on a payday Buddy, may you live to be 110.

  • What's the name of the DVD?

  • The name of the DVD is "Supershow"

The pairings of Steve Stills with Cream bassist Jack Bruce and drummer Buddy Miles, plus Eric Clapton with bluesman Buddy Guy and jazz saxophonist Roland Kirk, are the attraction of this so-called "last great jam of the '60s," recorded in '69. Results are mixed. Stills is negligible, but sparks fly when Kirk and Guy (who thoroughly outclasses Clapton) are onstage, especially together for "Kansas City"; and the veteran, understated Modern Jazz Quartet

  • Songs: Those Who Are About to Die Salute You, Love Potions, Under the Jasmin Tree, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Primitive Ohio, Checking on My Baby/Texas Blues, Visitor from Venus, Bad Hat, Hoochie Coochie Man, Debut, Stormy Monday, Kansas City, I Say a Little Prayer, My Time After a While, Black Queen, Slate 27

  • Don't get the DVD!!! The sound and video quality is atrocious. For some reason, the clips from this show you find on Youtube have much better quality.

  • Fantastic Jam 5/5! Thank You!

  • Wow, Buddy Guy is really going James Brown-crazy on this one!

PS: Look at the guy on the right at 1:03. You know your band is awesome when people are literally praying the show never ends.

  • @Elnonopololo Isn't he Mottorhead's Lemming?

  • hendrix and bruce were going to form a band with tony williams. tragically jimi's death meant it never happened. imagine what that would have been like!!! a lifetime cream experience

  • Cooky hippies, that one dude looks like hes praying or something. BG is the man.

  • buddy miles is one the best drummers of all time, he played with jimi hendrix, mike bloomfield, jack bruce, buddy guy, randy hosen, billy cox...

  • What a terrific voice BG had!

  • Comment removed

  • Thank god for that! lol

I meant that it's not the same as it once was. But that's expected since he's much older now.

  • Nice video, Great to see such blues players.

  • For the literal...Bruce decides he wants to be hyper-busy, leaving the bass line wanting for an RnB tune. Listen to 1:18 - 1:24, that's Scheisse. 1f:50 to 1:52 he sounds pretty hip even though busy. Bottom line (pun intended): When you're playing with Buddy Guy let him solo. But to your point about playing ahead of the beat (also known as rushing, not good), I notice that at :48 the beat goes to shit for a second, which I wouldn't expect from Buddy Miles; very strange moment there.

  • Jack is really hyper busy here; agreed. It's one of those things you either like or don't. It tends to piss off guitar players who expect the bass player to just play within the beat. I see what you mean about Jack. That's just him. I love it, but I can see where people don't. It's just one of those things.

  • In all fairness Bruce is grooving pretty tight, hard, and in the pcket on the 1st verse.

And damn is Buddy Guy sangin' or what?

  • and how comical is the drummer......like a chubby wee funky cartoon-character !

  • he is STILL buddy miles.... he played with jimi hendrix AND buddy guy... damn..

  • och people ...have a sense of humour...i KNOW he's one of the GREATS --- he just looks funny !

  • Jeez couldn't someone have convinced Jack Bruce to play sax and noodle there and leave the bass playing to someone who wanted to groove? (I know this will get dings but Bruce's playing, while very adept, always seems to kill the beat to me).

  • I get what you're saying, he kinda solo's the whole time, but the guy knows his stuff ha

  • he doesnt let the leadman lead......JACK pulls everyone along with HIM !! i dig it , others dont...! But i do disagree....I'M SITTING HERE MOVING MA HEAD BACK AND FORWARD TO THE 'GROOVE' HE'S CREATIN' ON THER....he's frickin' FUNKY

  • Jack plays ahead of the beat and pulls the others along with him. Buddy Miles has a hard time keeping up with him. Besides, Jack doesn't play sax.

  • Lemmy was a rodie of Jimi Hendrix

  • You probably know this-,but Jimi Hendrix played guitar for LittleRichard-&was fired.

  • Was that Lemmy I saw in the crowde?!?

  • Wow, I'm singing mary had a little lamb differently now :)

  • Buddy Miles may not be the most technically proficient drummer, but I love how he plays (and sings) with so much energy...Especially at around 1:42

  • (This may seem like an odd question at first...)

What month was this filmed in?

  • It was done at one of the big film sound stages, Shepperton I think. I know it was summer because I was driving Buddy Miles around in my TR3A with the top off, he was so big I could barely change gear!

Chris Mercer (the tenor player without glasses).

  • summer sometime because I drove Buddy M around in my TR3 without top, and he barely fit in!

    Chris Mercer

  • It's an honor to have you on here. Just fantastic!

  • Buddy Miles got some serious man-boobs

  • i love the energy buddy putsinto this performance. Im going to him tonight i cant wait

  • Great combo!!!

  • awesome

  • 0:59 - 1:02 Is that Lemmy Killmister from Motorhead lol

  • What a rhythm section!!!!!!! Buddy & Jack!!

This, hands down ,one of the heaviest things i've seen on Youtube!!!!

Thanx sooooo much for posting this....

  • I think the other sax player is Chris Mercer, who played with DHS in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers in 1967-68 during the Mick Taylor era.

  • It was indeed me, looking like a baby all those years ago.

    CM

  • Bunch a Damn Smartie Pantses !.....

  • Thanx sooooo much for this post. Young Buddy Guy vids are outta sight!

  • This is Georgie boy at the top of his game with all his hair...what a performance.

  • soooo good!

  • i love that! little white jack bruce keeping up with his soul brothers haha. this is one supergroup right here

  • this number set my drapes on fire

  • Amazing!!! What a SUPERGROUP!!!!

  • Too bad these guys didn't go out and tour together.

  • buddy miles is just goin to town on those drums

  • @jigzo78 my thoughts exactly.

  • and buddy miles is so heavy-handed on the drumz! he makes his drumz sound like the lead instrument instead of the backing instrument. 1 of the most underrated drummers in rock 'n roll history!

  • buddy miles was a lead drummer so to speak as he was a free form jazz type of player he is the reason most of hendrixes songs are so memorable

  • Buddy Guy is Devil!

  • God and Satan all in one!!!!

  • this is great! 5***** :))

    thanks theodorus45 for sharing

  • I wish i could find more of them jamming!

  • Its on a DVD called "Super Show",fantastic music!

  • damn, now i know who robert plant listened to. this is vintage.

  • this is real music.....!

  • Oh wow!

  • REALY AMAZING!!! SO GOOD!!!

  • Oh opps, saxophones. My bad for quick thinking!

    Peace

  • WAW MY FAVOURITE IDOLL'S buddy, jack & miles!!!

    GReat

  • xa totally, great line-up. Sweet horns too!

  • Damn...they were all so young... and talented even then. Awesome!

  • is this the first colloseum?

  • This is a jewel, too...a ruby in the Blues, as it were...

  • I love it, no black or white, just people playing music. And some kind of playing it is!
