I came in contact with this style a couple of years ago in a Bangkok taxi and it made the normally tedious journey from Suvarnabhumi downtown very pleasant. I've been trying to find it in BKK but not been succesful, maybe if I am lucky I can get back into that lime green cab once more...

dats awesome. I was in Pattaya in 2006 and it was the Kings aniverasry to the throne. There was a group playing issaan down the beach. It was awesome. They were playing it really fast. Where can I hear fast issan?

Thanks for sharing! It is wonderful to see such traditional instrument that Lao issan people still enjoy playing everyday. Long-lived Lao-Issan people that we all share the same culture, food, language, and ways of life. We all eat sticky rice, Koy and Lap.

I spent a year in Udon Thani, courtesy the USAF. I think about Thailand often and miss it very much. A part of my heart will always be there.

Isan music and dance always full of sense of joy. that's why we should try to keep it alive in the world. i'm also looking for a teacher for that. is he gonna welcome a visitor? i am from Nongkhai, ban Naam Suai...i wanna show him my respect and ask if he'd like to have a student, next time i visit my hometown.
