  • @deadkennedys213 I don't know man it sounds like alot of work. fax me when you got the idea goin

  • @deadkennedys213 mabey go to the small punk shows in the middle of nowhere (not L.A.) that offer fun at a good price. 83,84,85 in southers cal. was good for shows and i hope you find what you want

  • @deadkennedys213 Real hardcore is still alive. Check out school jerks, white lung, Creem, Night birds, Government Warning.

  • @Tracy1488 haha lol she was eaten by the minor threats crowd

  • now THAT is a fucking crowd!

  • Great stuff. Shows at little hole in the wall Elks clubs were always the best.

  • Quality

  • anti racist anti drug band.so they let a crack head on stage talking about its her birthday."give me money for crack"that dude that pushed her should of socked her in the back of the head .no sorriessss either

  • 2:35

    HARDCORE.

  • I'm just imagining how large the camera that captured this had to be in 1983...

  • Ian hit someone ath the begining?

  • Back when kids actually moved around to the music and didn't just stand there looking at the band bobbing their heads.

  • Back when kids actually moved around to the music and didn't just stand there looking at the band bobbing their heads.

  • Did Ian smack someone??

  • I'm fucking jelous about guys who saw them live.

  • moche do caralho!!!

  • everyone was the same there

  • Thats the beauty of punk rock...you can dress normal or have a foot tall mohawk...doesnt matter...its when u start saying youre punk because of the mohawk is when you just became a poser...lol

  • The days when hardcore music had respect. Now it's all gone thanks to militant twats.

  • how do you think how i feel i was born in 84

  • WHY DID THEY BREAK UP!!! AAAAAHHHHHH!!!! D:

  • @BlubberNuggets86 if they wouldnt there will not be fugazi dude...sad but those guys made fuckin bands after, also dag nasty and bad religion.

  • @TheGreatMeatFrog good to see the younger generation is listening to this. i had no faith in you guys... i think '98 was when i got my first minor threat CD lol. i was born in '90. i would kill to go back in time so i could've been there

  • @yuckfou312

I find it scary that back then, parents had terrible taste for music and the kids were into different stuff. Today, it's the complete opposite.

  • @tubbythug92 I'm pretty sure the majority of kids back then were into shitty mainstream stuff like Prince, Michael Jackson and Led Zeppelin. There are people in every generation that like good and people that like bad music.

  • @kingasdo111 Ok, for 1. Not all mainstream music is bad. 2. Led Zep DO NOT SUCK. Stop being so hipster.

  • @tubbythug92 Well, the quality of Led Zeppelin is objective, but regardless my point was that people who like good music are in the minority in every generation. I was born in '96 and my dad had never heard of Minor Threat in the '80s.

  • @kingasdo111 My dad has heard of Minor Threat back in the 80's. He's the soule reason why I'm into this band. I saw The Pixies live last night and majority of the audience are in their late 20's plus. It isn't that people with atleast a semi-ok musical spectrum are a minority. It's just the younger generation are being spoon fed by these bands that don't offer. People that grew up in the 90's atleast had Nirvana, REM, and other great bands. You know, the generation Xrs.

  • @kingasdo111 Which is why, in my own state of mind. If it wasn't for my father being into those types of bands. I'd been the same carbon copy of other people that are into the generic hip-hop or rock music.

  • I wish I could see Minor Threat on my birthday :(

  • Now Thats A Fucking Mosh Pit!

  • Damn!! this is fucking kickass! I wish they'd have shows like this still but everyone seems to be so fucking safe!

If my band makes it remotely big (even they we arent that hardcore) we are gonna play shows like this.

  • Someone shut the fuck up that birthday neggress... Oh, well done dude with the blue shirt.

  • Hardcore ain't what it used to be....I want this to come back

  • That chick that came up on stage is going to be me in 24 hours...

  • 1. 12XU

    2. Small Man, Big Mouth

    3. Filler

  • That's great that Ian's not even singing into the mic cuz half the crowd is on stage singing all the songs for him... I miss shows like this..

  • P-U-N-K

  • @MurakamiTesuka This is hardcore. Not punk.

  • @sexpantherize Who cares what it is, it fucking kicks ass. Hardcore is a sub genre of punk so it's not wrong to call this punk if you want to split hairs.

  • fukin nmad lovit

  • now thats a show i wish i could have been too

  • I love how these guys are making great fucking music but just in normal clothes, no extreme hair cuts, not half torn clothes with chains stuck to them, no gimmicks, just the music, I wish more bands would be like this...

  • @WOOSER1 again with the whole "fashion" thing. dude, a lot of bands do that, and theyre still great. its not like hair makes your band sound any different

  • @WOOSER1 soooo. every punk band that doesnt wear normal clothes or has mohawks or spikes or something means theyre a gimmick?

  • I had no idea Preston Lacy liked Minor Threat.

  • awesome

  • 0:24 did that guy piss him off?

  • hahaha she like ''Sing Me Happy Birthday agian''

  • theres one word RAW

  • Holy fucking shit!!!! Why can't shows be like this know a days!!!!!!! DAMN I WAS BORNING IN THE WRONG ERA!!!!!!!!! XXX

  • FUCK. HEALTH. AND. SAFETY.

  • BYO = Better Youth Organization

  • nowadays you have security so you cant jump on stage and rock out with them... so lame...

  • @anthraxony NOT FUCKING TRUE. I can't think of a single hardcore show i've ever been to that had security...

  • @anthraxony That said, there is like so many different meanings to 'hardcore' now, two nights ago I was at one and all it was kids throwing down, no fun. Most of the time there is none of that shit, just rowdy over-packed basements full of madness.

  • 1:15 thats the most awesome thing i have ever seen!!!!!!

  • the best parts at 1:15 when the song starts and ian screams

then everybody starts rippin the shit out of everything

  • This is a video artifact of something that will never happen again, if you don't know what i mean don't ask

  • @blackadder3 what?

  • whys that guy drinking a 40oz at 0:16 ?

  • What's hard to believe is that it's pushing 30 yrs since this concert. And what are most teens back to? - 70's style big arena shows where you can barely see the band let alone interact on this level. Tell me one concert where you're allowed to sing happy birthday to yourself with the band at your back? Love the explosiveness and band/crowd interaction.

Btw, unfortunately never saw Minor Threat in concert but did catch Fugazi which was a nice second.

  • wonderful times but the fear of liability and the loss of personal responsibility means gigs like this are a thing of the past

  • Never again will we see something like this. Teenager these days are too occupied with their video games and their facebooks to do something like this.

    RIP Hard Core.

  • @typeanoise i dunno i saw gallows the other day it was like this from moment they hit the stage

  • @typeanoise Kids back then made punk rock because people gave up on them too.

  • @Blackboilingrobotoil

Kids back then made Hardcore (NOT punk, punk was in the late 70s) because they gave up on their parents, teachers, congressmen, the government, drugs, booze to change the world. It was also about giving a big Fuck You to the Music Industry, saying hey were young kids and we're making our own underground recording studios and cutting records on our own!

  • WHO GIVES A FUCK ABOUT YOUR BIRTHDAY BITCH!

  • Ps. Isnt it strange that ian won't allow the crowd to enjoy themselves at fugazi gigs anymore......

  • an exploding audience........not allowed anymore, fuckers!!

  • What happens in the very beginning at like @0:23 that pisses Ian off?

  • @CreativeFilmMaker Some dude brought a bottle to the show. BYO...

  • @iiijg77 oh, and he didn't like it bc he's straightedge? And why did you say "bring your own..." at the end of your comment?

  • @CreativeFilmMaker Sounds like he's calling the guy a BYO: "I was skeptical about the 'BYO' up here."

  • @CareerSoldier201 Yeah, i feel you me and you were both born in the wrong decade. 1992 For the mother fucking lose

  • That room has more energy than an atom bomb.

  • 4:16

    hahaha

    too fuckin down

  • That chick needed to be pushed off the stage. Who cares if it's your birthday!

  • @MrChattyO notice how she started holding her ears when the music started :)

  • i wish i could go to these types of hardcore shows... truth is. id get crushed. im 4 feet 10 inches. fail. lol.

  • @ChaseTheCapital They still have...something along these lines. I'm 5'4 and I still get out there. There was this really tiny girl that went to all the shows and tore up the pit. I BELIEVE IN YOU!

  • @Torkulguy yea im a tiny girl too lol. i guess i'll just stay on top of everyone lol.

  • @ChaseTheCapital Crowd surf.

  • @ChaseTheCapital People are usually super nice at shows. Whenever I get pushed to the ground, I'm usually helped up...

  • Owned @ 2:33

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!! HAHAHA

  • man i saw them when i lived in orlando at some warehouse, my god what a freakin night. skate or die all night .

  • fuck man, everyone just explodes when the songs kick in. I'm not hugely into them but you can't deny the energy they exude.

  • Sucks that i was born in 92 :(

  • @CareerSoldier201 Me too! It doesn't have to end here though. That could be us too -- not only in the crowd, but on the stage.

  • @ExcellentErnest

that would be me on the stage if I could find a FUCKIN GUITARIST!!!

  • @CareerSoldier201 Why? Go see hardcore bands in your area. If they're aren't any, go make one!

  • @Oretoasonjikure

there really was only 1 hardcore band in my area and they broke up a year ago. Now the only local bands left are metal bands lol. and ive tried making a band but all the kids i know that play instruments are metalheads lol. so basically im surrounded by metal.

  • @CareerSoldier201 then play crossover :D

  • @CareerSoldier201 sucks even more I was born in 1996

  • that's why you don't fuck with Ian. He doesn't ignore it and he doesn't just walk off stage. he confronts it face to face. Like a man.

  • someone seriously, SERIOUSLY needs to bring this music back. WHOS FUCKING WITH ME?! WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • @letominator234

I guess it all depends where you live. There some great punk bands where I live at, and it's not that emo crap that's going on today. One of my friends opened up for The Adicts and also for Gorilla Buscuits.

  • @letominator234

its gone. its done. you were born 20 years too late.

  • happy birthday to the crack head

  • I hate this band it's so fucking mainstream it sounds like linkin park ffs!

this music has no heart to it, it's only made for the money. I hate this kind of pop-punk shit!

  • @JesperNewspaper - compared to what? what the fuck were you doing in '83. It was NOT more punk rock than this, silly child.

  • @JesperNewspaper - your favorites include Under Oath, and you wanna knock anything Ian McKaye has ever done. That's funny.

  • @JesperNewspaper - your favorites include Under Oath, and you wanna knock anything. That's funny.

  • @JesperNewspaper no heart to it, all ther songs have heart to it read the lyrics dumass, and mainstream my ass!! these guys played wherever they could. Were ther playing at in the video is in Camden NJ. One of Americas most dangerous cities. u have no idea who this band is and how many bands have spawned becuz of them

  • @JesperNewspaper are you fuking kidding me? thats right im not gonna grace that coment with good spelling

  • Ian getting angry!!! Awesome, didn't happen much!!!!! not,,

  • HAHAHAHA@the big guy skanking at 4:18.

  • @MBIBTYB I really, really hope he didn't stagedive lol

  • @MBIBTYB LOL, I didn't notice that before-- that's hilarious...

This is probably the best live show ever taped...ever

  • LOL-- and this is why Minor Threat is the best hardcore band EVER. People who go to rock shows these days and think they're tough would be killed at true old skool punk shows, lol.

  • @StarryKid06 yeah so true

  • wow. the crowd just exploded at the beginning of the song haha these guys are fucking hardcore!!!!

  • hahaha that fuckin black crackhead bitch got shoved off stage

  • THIS is fucking punk rock RIGHT HERE.

  • HAHAHAH I WISH ALL THESE KIDS THAT LISTEN TO TRASH TALK AND CEREMONY ALL THE KIDS WHO THINK THEYRE FUCKIN HARDCORE WOULD TAKE A LOOK AT THIS HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

  • I love this band but I would love them more if they didn't start a movement that makes people go crazy and hurt others because they drink or smoke.

  • now we have the casualties, what a shame

  • Damn! our parents partied like a mutherfucker!

  • duuude i wish shows here where i live were like that.

  • fuckkkkk man 5:03 they rule!! like you say they make look like pussys the bands from today.... MT....

  • I give Ian and Minor threat alot of credit for providing this genre of musical outlet for the kids and proving taht you can be straight (edge) and cool at the same time. Unfortunately, I would never have believed this in 1983, 1982, 1981.....

  • I love minor threat , but ian is a crybaby...

  • Lol, I love this band, and hardcore music in general and all, but the whole macho man thing gets a bit ridiculous.

    Wouldn't change it though. XD

  • Man, this makes slayer pits look like nothing!

Yes, I said it! Slayer pits aren't as awesome or as chaotic as this!

    Punk forever!

  • fuckin crazzzzzy
