one more thing...if you fill it up using fridge water, you're making the machine work harder, the booklet does say it's cheaper/more efficient to run if you start with WARM water, since the first step is boiling. I'm wondering if you put your carbon filter in your nozzle? because it should be doing exactly what the fridge filter does! Thanks for taking the time to produce and upload your video, i always prefer to watch than to visualize from words, and i have the same model as in yours.
1. carbon filters come w/ the unit. remove from the little box, fold in half, insert into the nozzle; 2. insert nozzle into the slots in the top front of the unit, where it drips. There is no need to double carbon filter water, just replace the charcoal; 3. the water collection vessel is packed INSIDE the unit. 4. Handle Assembly: put bands around vessel, line up screw holes, set aside screws. Place bottom of handle over holes, hand tighten, screws, then put the top piece of the handle on....
Do you know what this machine does not filter out? Incidentally I emailed a few companies regarding trace mineral drops for distill water, none of the companies want to discuss fluoride content.

@aberdeen14 See little box that says carbon filters? If you've been using it without filters, you've got the nozzle inserted, that white "beak" thing? Squeeze it off, and then take one of the carbon filters out of the plastic wrap. They look like teabags. Fold it in half, push gently into the glass bottom of the nozzle so it is just barely sitting in there, so the white sides of the sachet lean on the flap of the nozzle, squeeze back in place, hole to front and down, think "runny nose."
I agree wfe3james..I am sick and tired of hearing idiots talk about how drinking distilled water is bad for you. Don't listen to them, they are morons. Distilled water is what is in your fruits and vegies, folks! How pure is that?? As soon as you hear someone talk like that, discount most of anything else they say too!
@prodigal1978 the only way it could be bad for you is if the equipment used to distill your water wasnt food grade, and it can happen. but not likely.
so wait you double filter , and you said the unit doesnt catch everything but it comes with carbon filters , so the carbon filter doesnt do a good job?
I am looking into purchasing a water distiller. I am sick of buying 30 gallons at a time and hauling them to my storage area. Although, it's a good workout, I think it's about time I became more self sufficient. I am looking for the best there is and Megahome name keeps popping up. Do you store gallons or just make enough for daily consumption?
Don't be stupid, you don't get nutrients from the city tap water, the city doesn't add vitamins and minerals in your tap, the minerals in your tap water are residue. One of the dumbest things I've heard was that you can die from drinking pure water, well you can't. You get minerals from fruits and vegetables.
who said the city added them? there are naturally a little bit of metal and minerals in your everyday water, feel free to take some tap water to a lab and test it, you'll likely find traces of iron, calcium..maybe even magnesium.
Believe it or not, the tap water comes from river and lakes, which i'm quite sure you don't know about, these river and lakes have organisms living in it because the water already has nutrients for them to live, these nutrients come from..to be continued
@AznDuD333 it depends on where you live but in many towns and cities, public water is heavily treated and processed. and yes, chemicals are added to keep us safe from malaria and other diseases. bottom line its not clean river water or well water with probiotics or anything.
These nutrient come from the rocks and soil resting in the bottom of these river and lakes, and as time pass by, some of the stuff in the rocks gets passed into the water, so please do your research before talking next time.
Oh and, distilled water has nothing in them except H2O, which is what's bad about it.
@AznDuD333 I know, but I'd rather get these nutrients from my food not from my water. The amount of nutrients in water is trivial. The crap from drinking all that does more harm than any nutrients you get from drinking it.
@AznDuD333 nutrient from the water??????? thats the lies wich bottled water companys want you to beleive...water is H2O...and thats it... distilled water is H2O... the perfect water..end of story
@AznDuD333 sodium fluoride, medicines from BIG PHARMA, chlorine , rust, lead, other heavy metal, BPA and MORE in the tap water and bottled water, are nutrients wich the body needs...hmm.. well if this is true then i choose distilled water over these nutrients and take my nutrients from fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, dairy, meat, just how God intended...and drink 100% pure H2O, just like God intended for us mankind... learn more on sodium fluoride here: /watch?v=LEZ15m-D_n8 -peace monkey boy.LOL
The carbon filter that it goes through takes out the fluorine and chlorine. This is after it condenses, therees a small chamber you put a carbon packet in and it filters the water.

does it use a lot of power....?
garlicdawg 2 months ago
can you boil it on a grill if U have no power........or do u need electricity all the time...?
nice work on the video....thanks

Starting with hot water will cut your distilling time down to about 3 hours.

I just got mine today. Trying to figure out how to place the carbon filter in the nozzle.

Thank you for the review!
According to Viktor Schauberger water is to be stored in dark places or at leat in shadow.
And, isn`t it better to leave some watter in distiller and waste it with all that stuff we try to get rid of?
DeemaChan 6 months ago
exactly how hot does the water in the distiller get?
TheAbbott117 11 months ago
@TheAbbott117 I bought one of these - it boils in the chamber and when it comes out into the storage vessel it is HOT.
MrSmibby 11 months ago
How does it taste compared to bottled water from shops?
MrSmibby 11 months ago
I found the information on a seller's page. A filter lasts for up to 30 gallons. One person said her water was so bad she used two packets at once.

@DianeDi I store the water in some glass jars. I run this either every day or every other day.
leoncfu 11 months ago
@leoncfu Thanks and can these glass jars be stored a room temperature for extended periods? Months?
I'm just thinking ahead in case of power outages or *other* problems.
I've even considered freezing containers with it as I have a large upright freezer that is barely used.
DianeDi 11 months ago
have you tested the water with a tds meter?
681observer 11 months ago
@681observer Nope, but I'm sure you can find someone on the Net that did.
leoncfu 11 months ago
@681observer If it was distilled common sense would suggest total disolved anything is going to be 0

some of that "stuff" are metals and calcium, drinking water without these "stuff" will mean your gonna lack some nutrients that you need.
