  • i have no idea where VOR lock is :(

  • alright, your video helps alot. But I have to say buddy, your video is utter annoyance. You could also move a bit faster.

  • nice vid, but what the fuck's with the background sounds?? thought i had a porn popup.

  • @Milkpipe ROFL

  • YEEEEAAAAAHHHHH YOUR DUTCH!!!!! HIGH FIVE BUDDY!!!

  • this helped me thanks!, its VOR that confuses me the most!

  • this really helped me

  • one more thing. when ur flying, example. london amsterdam, how can i know when to start descending and on what altitude should i fly before approach

  • @1911Vule2011 use the 3 zeros formula, if you are flying at 20,000ft, then by applying the 3-zeros formula, exclude the last 3 zeros, you will have 20, multiply it by 3, you will have 60nm, you will start descending when you are 60nm from your destination

  • @enitan2002 interesting fact .thanks. i usually use ifr so tower says everything

  • @1911Vule2011 I have never used a VFR before, i think its the best for low altitude flying birds like the cessna skyhawk. IFR has always been my best option with the ATC speaking. Its much more fun when you speak with a live ATC like we have on vatsim.

  • that is not possible if airport doesn't have ILS?

  • First of all, that was a very low final approach to the runway. And I don't think yo need to use an ILS approach for such a nice weather. You should have gone with VOR approach anyways. But a nice video on setting up the gps.

  • Thanks

  • How do you turn the gps on? If you start with a cold and dark cockpit

  • @Pilotguy251 shift + 3

  • I can't do with that flashing

  • Do u turn auto thrust off when landing? and when, how close to runway?

  • @Holly02391 when you are about 8nm miles from the runway, turn off the auto-thrust, use manual adjustment, and immediately turn off your engines when you are above the runway threshold.

  • @kemestri Wow my first good flight :D so easy!

Do you need to set the autopilot before taking off or, as you dit, after taking off? The buttons look different in other planes, can you help me with aircraft such as the a321 or 747? What are normal cruising speeds and altitude, and for approach?

  • @vogelbekdier97 Hi, to get your speeds, check the menu, aircraft/ Kneeboard / References. there you'll get the speed references from the constructor (Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier,..).

As for the altitude, folow your flightplan if IFR you can call ATC for Change of Altitude in case off...

If you aproach, try to intercept the GlideSlope "GS" (Green cone leading to the runway) from Below.

If i'm not mistaking that's around 1800 feet "ASL" (at sea level) and GS starts at 2000 feet ASL.

  • @vogelbekdier97 you will have to check the kneeboard on the aircraft you are flying, you will see the various speed suitable for the aircraft.

  • thank u soo much i did my first proper flight with your help, keep uploading, thanks again

  • Your background music was annoying, and the flashing totally distracts from following your presentation. If you want to be a serious 'instructor' then you should work on these flaws.

  • Good info but the flashing drove me insane!!!!

  • The info is good but the flashing is going to give me seizures.

  • are you dutch?

  • What aircraft

  • Hey that was nice tutorial. Generally i can land on same runway :) I want to land on runway of my wish , so what i have to do with gps ??? Pls help :)

  • exelent tutorail, i manged to follow right through, although i still do my landing through ils on the nav settings

  • Thanks SO MUCH!

  • Is that a radio show in the background? I like St. Germain, maybe they've some more good music. Would you mind sharing?

  • thank you! you helped me with one of my biggest problems in this game, good english though!

  • i tryed this but i go into a hold circle

  • hey, i have a problem: when i try to get my gps out. it just blank, yet when i right click it says 'close' so my gps is blank. . can anyone help me with this?

  • Thank you very much this video helped a lot, but if you need to contact the tower go to "views" and select "Air traffic Control" and select to see your nearest/furthest airports

  • Do you have to adjust altitude during landing?

  • haha whats in the background?

  • thanks

  • when i press proc ,select aproach. i donot get the runway list. whats wrong ?please answer.

  • thank you !

  • is it the same for the crj-700? i dont see a vor lock on the panel

  • @rockdoon2 just click nav button on the autopilot panel

  • when to switch from gps to nav mode...and secondly not all airports hav pom. dere r different trans like vector jjp etc

  • porn music lol

  • can anoyone help to me?

when i am landing the computer says pull up pull up!

but i land it safely just like in this video.i dont understand.i want to hear this voice " fifty,fourty,twenty,ten"...can anyone tell me?

    thanks a lot

  • WTF ARE YOU LISTENING TO? LMAO

  • Vlak voor de approach, zat je nog op autopilot en die vloog te laag op de baan af, als je hele landing met autopilot deed zou je toch niet goed of volgens het boekje landen?

  • Does the gps line you up with the runway?

  • @midfielderlegend Yes,The gps does line you up but thats all. If you want to try something better, try an ILS landing. It uses a VOR signal from your transponder to auto land your plane. It is a bit more involved though.

  • @1216saab Iv tried a ILS landing but Im never in line with the run way. I know i sound really shit.

  • nice video helps a lot

you can use this video also for fs9

  • at what altitude and speed should you be at about 65 miles from the airport ? please answer cause i am currently flying from detroit to oklahama

  • Video is hard to watch, make a new one without the twitching!

  • very nice video.. thanks alot;)

  • Good video and a great track there from the Herbaliser, i love ninja tune

    s

  • How do yo know which waypoint to choose?

  • @wyz101 I dont know either, so all I do is to flight plan manually, via map, before starting the flight.

  • Someone please help I need to rotate my plane without turning it on its sides and stuff what is that called so i can change it.

  • Yeah good video.

  • At 3:56 did anyone hear what that girl said in the background?! LMAO. "Suck Cock Fuck and Prick are not bad words" is what she says. I heard this because I had earphones on.. You have to listen carefully.

  • @lvlegalvlan09 lol yeah i was like wtf!?!

  • @lvlegalvlan09 lol, i thought i was hearing things or was some other tab that was from :s...

  • @lvlegalvlan09 Lol i heard that too,but i had to turn the volume up!!

  • @lvlegalvlan09

    porno music

  • Would be nice if Microsoft would incorporate working flight management systems set in the cockpit.

  • can this also auto land ? or do you have to use the nav ?

  • Very, very nice tutorial!

  • Excellent video. You did a great job at explaining the GPS navigation, which I've been having a lot of trouble with. Thanks! :)

  • hi bud, and thank you. Got a question though. While approaching airport, how do you manage altitude. I had AP ON and it went wrong, then I turned that off and went wrong again. THX

  • to manage alltatude, you should use an ils

  • thanks

  • Ohh thank you, Nice tutorial !

  • thank you it relly help.

  • Very good slide show.

  • thnx 4 that video

  • When you take off do you have to manually fly to the red line or do you put the heading of the airport etc in before take off ?? please reply soon thank btw anyone can comment on this question i need it answered fast. Thanks again

  • @AFCBLK u put it in before take off and set NAV/GPS to GPS.. then it'll fly automatically!

  • @kemestri thanx, how long after you take off do you change it to GPS ?

  • @kemestri how you get the main panel?

  • Volgens mij is die vrouw op de achtergrond echt knettergore dingen aan het zeggen, geen idee waarom je dat dan als achtergrond muziek doet.... In just sayin!

  • Laat me raden: je bent Nederlands.... :p

  • dude how to switch on the air conditioner in the cockpit and please tell me how to order my meal in the cockpit and how to find my house terrece using gps as i have to land there and how to upgrade passesngers to buissness class and how to talk to the railway driver who is just below me and how to tell the ROD to shut up

  • this really helped me - thanks!

  • thanx man you're really cool

    i subbed :D

  • and land this bird (H) ahaa

  • just press shift +3

  • M8 you are the best i go on fsx every eveing and i just follow this vid and i glide through it do you have fspassengers x and what is your best Airplane

  • nice man thnx

  • Question: DO i turn off the altitude or why it wont descend?

  • @nubishnewbie you can't really land with a GPS, it just gets you from point-a to point-B automatically. If you want to to descend automatically as well, you need to deal with the ILS, which is not that complicated. I just learned how to use it today.

The ILS markers are those green arrows that you see before the runways in your GPS map.

You need to set your NAV1 radio to the frequency of the ILS transmitter that you want to guide you in, then set NAV/GPS dial to NAV, then press the APR button.

  • Fuck ya dude.. You fken learned me to ils with no fken hard freqs.. OMG AMAZING!!! Love you (No gay) .. Must kiss ya'll (Still no gay) :P NUMBER ONE ! SUBBED RATED And requested friend :D Ya amazing...

  • Wait, so the approach atomatically decends the aircraft by itself?

  • with when i activate the gps aproach, the airplane will go direct to the runway but wont align, i mean it will go in any dirction to the runway

  • thanks so much it helped a lot!!! 5/5

  • I cant choise the airport that you decided to take !

  • @SWE370 then you pick another

  • when i activate gps the plane goes down...

  • really praiseworthy .....i saw many tutorials in youtube for this article and i found yours to be the best among other .....keep it up.and thankx

  • Thanks! nice vid :)

  • what plane is that??? please reply on my comment thanks

  • 737-8 standart fsx with add on paint i would say.

  • 737...

  • what i dont understand. if you're using the gps to land must u not first get persmission from tower as to which runway to use? how come are u just selecting ur own. also, when u use ATC it tells the bearings. do u just ignore those and follow ur gps, soley?

  • thank you!!

  • thank you!

  • Thank you

  • does it automatically descend? I noticed u switched off hold altitude, when should u do that?

  • if you want to use autoland, watch my tutorial for ILS landing in this case i descend it myself

  • When your ILS frequency has locked on, the alt hold will automatic go off if you start below the G/S (watch the glideslope lamp over primary display)

  • if you are using autoland, the heading and altitude autopilot switches will automatically turn off as the localizer and glide slope are intercepted, respectively. the same is with approach hold, just remember to start flying manually at minimums or you'll be in for a rough landing.

  • use the radios.

  • @will122391 what a dumbass how can gps descend the altitude

  • Very Good Video.Has cleared up loads of things I did nit understand...Please do more..Please show how to line up for a landing just using heading control if possible.Brill Video though.

  • does the crj700 and learjet 45 have that "vor log" (sorry, couldn't understand well) button because when I fly auto, I have to adjust heading but I want the plane to turn itself to the flight path

  • yes, it's in the left down kneeboard. if you can't find it, check your settings and controls and look for NAV/GPS switch, and put in your own button.

  • thanks, I have found it and I'm flying good now

  • how could you not like Guiness beer?????

  • hey good job on the video! but i don't get how you got the pink and white lines. if i click direct it takes me directly to the airport but i want to go to the a runway at that airport from where i am currently flying. (e.g i am flying over seattle city and i wan to land at the active runway at seattle airport from where i am currently flying. how do i do this in the gps?? How do i get the lines to show me where the airport and runway is? PLEASE REPLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you should put the NAV/GPS button on NAV. this should give you the red dots in the 737/747

  • no i meant veiwing it in the gps not in the heading square area.i couldn't explain it very well but thank you. ( BTW R u a real pilot????)

  • Thanks, very helpful

  • right after i click activate approach, the map pops up right away or do you have to press a button to show the map?

  • how do you bring up the navigations system in the virtual cockpit.thanks in advance!!! :-D

  • shift + 3 = GPS

and click on your flight screens, to get them popped-up

  • thanks now i finnally know how to work it !!!yay!

  • thanx this helps A lot

  • dose it work on fs2004

  • my gps screen isnt showing up how to show it

  • thank you!

  • tnx it helped alot

  • WHAT IS THAT MUSIC???????

  • what program did you use to make this video?

  • hypercam

  • hello

i would like to ask you how do u look around the cockpit and to zoom out to see the whole cockpit area thanks

    :D

  • press the space bar and keep it down , then move your mouse , and you'll watch arround..

zooming: same idea: press space bar and scroll with your scroll button on your mouse.

  • thank you for the tips now i can fly a plane

    :D

  • A real pilot? that is so cool.

Um when I use autopilot and atc gives me a heading to head to do I still keep the NAV hold switch on or do I use the heading hold and turn to my heading. If is use the heading hld the plane does not follow the waypoint path in the gps

  • yes, i am a real pilot,

When you're approaching for for an ILS, the ATC will probably turn you in with a 90° angle to the runway, and on a certain moment it will say to turn 60° TO the runway, and as you reach the longitudinal axes of the R/W you can turn in for final/ ILS sequence at this point it doesnt matter rathaer you have GPS or NAV button active.. you just follow the headings.. as you reach the heading, you turn NAV button on, and activate the ILS..

    don't hesitate asking, greetings

  • Hey Thanks for the speedy reply. More questions to use gps do you have to click on ifr on the flight plan? Or can u use it on VFR too? 2) When I try to select an aproach on gps the aproach screen comes up but with no runways 2 select? how to do this? Oh and I would appreciate it if u could do a vor tutorial

    Thankx

  • i am sorry for interapting u again but i cant find what menu bar u mean...:-(during the free flight...?what do i have to press to see the bar and the playback button?

  • thnx...and you can change any camera you want after the record..?because i have see lot of videos that they are playng with the camera outside the plane and inside while landing...how i can do this?

  • in FSX, in your menu bar, there is a playback button, you can select the amount of seconds you want to go back, and then just watch yourself landing.. you can actu

  • ----actually change the view whenever you want.. and you can record this

  • thnk you my friend...you help me a lot...one last thing..how you record your flight...i want to reeocrd a flight ande then i want to upload it on youtube...but how i can record the flight..i need a programm or something else?

  • check google for 'hypercam free download', it records your screen, stocks screenshots etc.. i use it for my work too..

  • i have the fsx...and how can i turn atc on?you mean that he can drive like the mission to turn on the appropiate degrees and take me to the airport?

  • yeah, you can, you can set this in your flight selection, there is a button which says: pop up ATC screen when starting.. just press this, and start your flight, or watch your settings, there is one keyboard digit connected to the automatic pop up... press this key and it'll pop up... but you have to find out what key it is...

  • very nice video...i wish you good real flights...one question..there is no way to try to land with the help of the radio like the missions?thnx!

  • what version of FS have you got? 2004? or FSX? in fsx there is a ATC (air traffic control) and you can use it whenever you want, even when you're not doing missions... in 2004 there is not always ATC

  • you sound like a pilot with your voice lol

  • thx it works

  • GPS: put in the ICAO code ( KJFK,EHAM,WSSS, etc) by clicking on the boxed arrow in your GPS.. select it, activate it, and in the right upper corner you see relative direct distance (RDD) to the approach or runway/airport you chose..

  • Will this also control the altitude for you?

  • no, you'll have to set altitude hold yourself!

  • how did u do all that messing with the gps without crasing? you wernt even paying attention!

  • i've been playing fsx for some time now, i guess i have about 1800 multi engine hours ;) besides that, i am also a real pilot, or anyway, studying to be one.. passing exams within some months to go fly for Ryanair... so some stress resistance and knowledge is required to do this crashles!

  • How old are you?

    And thanks tutorial!

  • how old am I? xD what do you guess...?

  • hmm maybe 23+?

  • naw, am 19, but, close enough =p why?

  • nothin... cause u said ur real pilot!

  • yeah, i am currently finishing my MCC cabine course and the last part of my IR.. i'll have my papers in bout couple of months, then i'll try get a job as F50 pilot, or maybe dash-8..

  • this video is great

but the flashing is annoying as hell

  • thanks. i subscribed:P :)

  • yes i know that u have to enter it through your flight planner but in the flight planner if u want to enter a waypoint u have to search for it in the map and that is sooo hard so my question was is that can i set a full route in the gps because in the gps ,there is a button that takes u directly to way point but is there a button that can create a route for u or something like that.i need ot use the gps to do that because in default fsx aircraft, there is no fc to do that for me. and thanx

  • that's right, gps doesnt provide waypoint connexion, or 'choose' option.. and either does FSX ingame..

Before flight is only way to choose a flightplan via GPS and waypoints..

if you want to choose waypoints at any random time, you should get PMDG , which gives a detailed version of a specific plane 747, MD11, 738.. w/e.. in this package the FMC is changable.. which means that u can make the flight plan as u wish.. it'll transmit it to your GPS when u activate it...

  • although, PMDG is quite expensive, and it only provides 1 single detailed plane.. if you wanna know if it's worth it: yes. it is.

i dont have because i can't afford it right now, althoug i would like to have a package,

it's best way to learn because of the very detail level it gives you: overhead panel: kneeboard: outside view etc.

  • i have a question , i play fsx online with vatsim and sometimes i need to put a full route manually , so i am wondering if u can tell me how ot do that because it really hard searching for the waypoints in the flight planner
