I woke up to this movie playing on some random movie channel at 4 am last night. I stayed up to finish it, and don't regret it. This is one of the best gangster movies I have ever seen. I consider myself a movie buff and I had never even heard of this movie. Very underrated.
Actually I prefer movies of the 70's, 80's and 90's but this movie is one of the very few masterpieces in decade 2000-2009. Interesting storyline, brilliant acting, directing, editing. Tom Hanks and Tyler Hoechlin were so impressive.
@andrewtaylor52 It is a composition by Pfeifer Broz. Music, a company that scores for movie trailers. Unfortunately I do not know the song title or even own the song for that matter. If you find it give me a shout!
@andrewtaylor52 , the music is from the film, Ransom. The track is called "The Payoff/End Credits" - James Horner. I know this because I love that movie haha
@mbilalbhatti Many critics felt that the characters and story were too cold. I disagree with this criticism as I felt the tone of the movie fit a nice balance between what a professional hitman and family man.
Thanks for uploading in HD. This is one of my favorite Paul Newman movies, favorite Soundtracks and best gangster movies ever! Massively underrated, which makes it all the more special in a way.
@mbilalbhatti Yeah, sure mate. There's: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Hud, Cool Hand Luke, The Sting, and The Hustler to name but a few. And they're all brilliant - but Newman is unrecognisable compared to his character in this movie (although even in this film - as a crime lord, it's hard not to have a soft spot for him!) I guess that just shows how good he was at acting. Such a great range of roles. Not just a pair of pretty blues.
@mbilalbhatti No idea. It's a shame, but like I said - makes it a bit more special. p.s. You know when he slams the table before saying 'You would LIKE to apologise?", and everyone jumps? That wasn't in the script according to his biography - so those are genuine 'wtf!?' jumps.
Tyler was such a cute little boy. Now he's a sexy MAN! but all hotness aside, this movie incredible!

What I don't get is that he was 13 almost 14 when he played in this movie but he looked like he was 10 or 11.
