  • In CT, the State Police Truck Squad (Tractor trailer enforcement but they also do traffic enforcement) have the same model expedition (but silver). They're easy to spot if you know what they look like but to an out of state driver or just an ignorant driver, you're toast. They have about the same light setup in the front as shown in this video but triple the amount of lights in the rear.

  • @yohan01 You must be a lawyer you know the law but you don't look at the video .#1they have lights in every corner in front and in the rear #2 This is a UNDERCOVER vehicle I know people like you want to blame first responders for the collisions they get into but it's people like you that mike my job harder .You talk about us looking out for you but it's you how never move when we're responding code 3 you think we are not going anywhere important .But you call us then bitch we took to long

  • three people have been pulled over by one of these

  • This is what the "Dog The Bounty Hunter" needs lol!!

  • I like the setup! Clean and blends in well with the everyday drivers out there. You've got full 360 degree lighting and the front lights aren't "overpowered" by the headlights. "Too much", I don't agree with that. You can't put a price on safety! Two thumbs up!

Maybe it's just my mind playing tricks on me, but has anyone else noticed that red lights are somewhat easier to see during the daytime and blue lights are easier to spot at night? Green instantly make me think "Woah, what's that"

  • So the side lights... Is he going to be backing through the intersection!?? Cause if he isnt im not gonna see those :/

  • he stole you video watch?v=32AFd01v_6E

  • There is actually no law against how many warning lights there is on one police or EMS vehicle. just as annoying as the person wants to be I guess.

  • is this fucking legal? lol

  • Just a question. Basically is the side lights important?

  • @yohan01 Yes, it's when police cars are going in an intersection so drivers on the side see that it's an emergency vehicle. Good question.

  • @iSchmal Thanks mate for the answer :-) Really appreciate it..

  • @yohan01 AS PER MOST POLICE DEPTS' POLICIES ANY POLICE OR EMERGENCY VEHICLE'S LIGHTS SHOULD HAVE A 360 DEGREE OF VISIBILITY WHEN "RUNNING CODE" ( CODE 3 ) I SAID "MOST". IT'S A LIABILITY FOR THESE DEPTS IN ANY GIVEN CASE THEY STRIKE AN INNOCENT PERSON. IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT LOOKS. GREAT QUESTIO THOUGH. TAKE CARE.

  • @yohan01 ANY POLICE OR EMERGENCY VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE A 360 DEGREE OF VISIBILITY WHEN RESPONDING TO AN EMERGENCY AND RUNNING CODE ( CODE 3 ) THAT IS AS PER MOST DEPARTMENT'S POLICIES. IT IS MOSTLY LIABILITY I ANY GIVEN CASE THESE VEHICLES STRIKE AN INNOCENT BYSTANDER OR OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAY. ( HAPPENS MORE THAN YOU THINK )

  • @desertwarrior8725 You're typing in all capital letters, are you intended to say it out loud? or there's a problem with your keyboard?

  • could use some lights in the front window so people can see you from the side at an intersection. not too often people will look at the rear windows for lights. would look pretty fierce in my rearview tho.

  • Where was it? I couldnt see it past all of the lights. lol. Nice vid. If only they could actually but that many lights on all of the police cars around here, then maybe we could see them for once.

  • 1 word. Perfection.

  • *drool* Truck Vault....

  • ford stands for fixed ofen repared daly

  • @tropicalfishguy100 No, that stands for your grammar.

  • Awesome light package, Try wiring the Sync wires together. It makes the lights look more uniform and looks better while in use. Other than that awesome job!

  • whackers.....

  • I think I just got a seizure...

  • Pierce County Sheriff's Office SWAT has a couple of Blue Ford Expositions.

  • type-o: Expedition

  • Excellent video Not synced grille lights are a tell. On a new vehicle though ?so Swat

  • i do not think this is a SWAT vehicle because. 1) every SWAT vehicle i have seen, and i have seen my share have been black. and 2) most SWAT SUV's have extended nerf bars for standing on and, grips on the roof.

  • I love that Inner-Edge!

  • to cool.

  • I wouldn't mind having one of these =p

  • Uffcourse its FORD expedition but not in swat i belong to swat & i know all places of swat street by street .i am 100% sure its not in swat ZEROOOOO FAKE VIDEO

  • How exactly can you tell that, Mr. SWAT?!

  • identify your rank and your position in the Special Weapons and Tactics force.

  • nice marian..u must be a genious!!! ROFL

  • if you drive on the street i can tell you if it an unmarked police car ?

    How can u tell

if you look close in the revers light also back up light sometimes u can see the black rubber from the strobelight or if you look close in the grill in front of the car you can see the clear requtengular white led in the grill

  • point out the obvious.

you are not going to see it when you are going 20, 30, 40, ECT ECT ECT MPH over the speed limit.

  • 40 MPH over the speed limit you asking to get your lisence taking away and go to jail

i got only between 10-20 mph over

and yes i can tell with is an unmarked police car u might not

  • its called highway street racing, exceeding speeds over 120 MPH.

  • no shit dont act like u know everything

  • u smart... me dumb... duururrrrr

  • I think if your that close you can see the lights in the back window are something don't you think BUDDY

  • Yay?

  • If I'm a cop, I want a truck like this so I can blend it to the public better....

  • fuckin awesome.

  • how is it a swat team car

  • Judging by the rest of this guy's channel it looks as though he does emergency equipment installs on municipal and emergency vehicles. So, I wouldn't personally doubt the fact that it's a SWAT vehicle. Maybe you should think before you post negative comments. Have a good one!

  • Nice,more of an unmarked vehicle,than others.

  • you should sync the grille lights but great setup love the inner edge

  • thats perfect, not too many lights and not alot of lights , looks great

  • you could put another 13 lights just on the front!!!

    :D

  • Needs more lights!!

  • Needs more lights?

    No, it needs more cowbell!

    haha

  • Ive been in law enforcement for 14 years in NYC, and theres a saying here for all cops who are in a unit involving high speed driving to jobs. Youre lighting package is only good if youve got no "blind spots"....This Expedition from side view is "T-Bone" prone because the front 8-10 feet has no light coverage if driver was to try to clear intersection day or night. Needs clearing strobes side mounted as well as side view mirror light "caps" if for undercover you'd light the step-rails

  • ***Here's something you can try to see exactly what I mean*** When youre watching this try to pause the video when the camera view is looking @ the grill. Okay Now many lights can you count? Now press play again & pause it when the cameras lookin @ the side of truck, How many did ya count then? Now imagine the 1pm sun's high in the sky & youre responding to a gun-run & you gotta get thru an intersection) I'm predicting injured P.O. involved in a T/A. cuz somebody was too involved on their cell.

  • what is the point of ur comment

  • I completely agree.

  • yeah ther was no point in that comment

  • The point of my comment was that while the lights are pretty and the truck is sick overall...this truck will most likely be sitting in a JUNK YARD for parts..because you cannot tell its an EMERGENCY VEHICLE quickly enough from the side if the driver should have to eat a light or a stop sign on the way to a priority call. We're TALKIN ABOUT A 22 FOOT S.U.V. ENTERING A DARK INTERSECTION & ITS ONLY WARNING LIGHT IS IN THE REAR QUARTER PANEL WINDOW??? Just seems like poor placement to me.

  • ok now i see ur point yeah it could use a few more lights on the side.

  • needs a pushbumper so they can do some intersection lighting

  • Why not put a lightbar on the top???

  • coz its an unmarked car. if you do that, then it may as well be a marked car (or 'panda car', is ive seen it called once)

  • They are sometimes called panda cars (at least in the UK anyway) because they were originally black and white and looked kinda like pandas (vagually).

  • oh, right...

  • becuse then ppl would reconize its a police car its supposted to look like a regular car.

  • I completely agree... they should have put something on the mirrors.. or like you said fenders. Shit, even up towards the front on the running boards... Fuck all the people who said there's no point to your comment. They prolly have nothing to do with the emergency services anyway. Stay safe!

  • @STREETLIFE167 If this SUV was entering a dark intersection at night, I guarantee anyone around would know it. LED lights put out a huge amount of light. My department doesn't use LED (we use strobes) and even those are incredibly bright at night, even in fully unmarked cars with very few actual lights in them. Trust me, it doesn't need more side lights.

  • yeah i agree I'm in EMS and a firefighter and we have 2 Ford expeditons and both have b post lights and a lightbar and small LEDs in the back side window just cause intersections are the most dangerous part of a response and your side and back warning power needs to be the most powerful

  • I never thought about that, intersections being most dangerous, but that seems so true. I'm going to school in May for EMT-B in hopes of becoming a firefighter (got some iron-pumping to do) but if that doesn't work out then I'm going EMT-I. But that's a good thing to keep in mind.

  • Awesome lights

  • I love it ;)

  • Yea Awesome

  • Need some Red And Blue strobes in the fog lights.. I seen a charger with them down in the fog lights and it looked clean.

  • thats awesome

  • What kind of LEDs are in the grill?

  • looks like a two head dominator

  • its another badass ford. better than the chepy tallhoe....

  • one badass SWAT Ford Expedition

  • Some of those hyper-bright LED's are more piercing than strobes and rotators. You can see those things "brightly" out to two miles!

No doubt, the warning power is there, sheeez!

  • You may think so.... until you are the one standing on the side of the road next to an unmarked with minimal lights and cars whipping by you because they don't see the "minimal" lighting until they are 20 feet away. I know because my dept has an expedition with one deck LED and 2 rear flashers (through tinted windows). People even comment that they didn't see the lights.

  • Previous was in reply to:

csc9950 "thats to many effin lights for one cop car..."

  • I want that on my dad's Navigator, well maybe. Get out of the way!

  • Is the minimum amount of lights somehow regulated by law in the U.S.?

Because every US police car I see has many many lights.

Over here in the Netherlands unmarked police cars are equiped with Whelen Flashers in the grill, Whelen Strobe/flashers behind windshield, Strobes/flashers behind the rear window and a removable light on the roof.

    plz reply thx

  • nah man they are a bunch of whackers. hence all the "undercover" and "unmarked" vehicles. none of these are legit LEO vehicles

  • my towns unmarked police cars have 2 sets of red + blue flashers in the grill and 2 sets of red + blue flashers in the top of the windshield (and the typical flashing headlights and taillights) so what im getting at is i guess u cant have too many lights lol

  • these look like my dads sheriff car lol.

  • what r the lights on top by the driver and passenger

  • whelen something

  • They are called Whelen Visor Lights

  • Actually Whlen Stealth Visor Lights.

  • whelen inner-edge

  • Wow, this one looks great!

  • Its just so dominating, you get blinded and confused. Less is more, even with lights.

  • belive me you can never have too many lights!

  • I don't think that is overkill, it is a perfect amount

  • @supall24 agreed.

  • belive me you can never have too many lights!

  • AMEN to that

  • fords don't break down that would be chevy

  • @thingk89 , ha you must drive a found on the road dead , or ford

  • @thingk89 Tell that to my chevy. More miles than any ford I've ever seen on all stock parts.

  • @FFLITMiko oh yeah? How many?

I have ALL the service history on 1997 Expedition Eddie Bauer. All stock parts (exception of tires and sparkplugs and the air filter of course!)

    395,463 miles on her.

And she still looks new in and out.

  • Whats gonna break down, huh? Plus, SWATS aren't highway patrols.

  • wow those are freakin bright, you will blind all the drivers lol!

  • One of the best looking lighting setups I've ever seen.

  • Disco Lights On Wheels!! Best Looking Unit I've Seen!

  • where did you get the lights from inside the grille and on the sun visor from?

  • dude where do you get these from?

  • what is the rear light???

  • Appears to be a whelen dominator

  • Yes it is a Whelen Dominator 8 (Red/Blue)

  • That is one nice looking setup I've ever seen!

  • Awesome light setup! What department are you with?

  • sweet looking unit
