clearly in a 2 minute clip no one would be fully able to understand OCD or any disorder for that matter. This program aired on VH1 channel for Pete's sake! Are you really going to learn any thing in-depth on a channel called "video hits 1"?????
i need help with ocd, but i dont do rituals like count or touch things, its all in my mine, i have to say stuff in my mind to take out the stress, and if i think someone heard me say the ritual i think dat person wont talk to me for the rest of my life or wont be my friend again and when i overcome a obsession another one just pops out my head and i could ignore but it doesnt go away
@MrOurkid I was diagnosed with OCD at 10 years old and I was exibiting OCD symptoms I could have had no knowledge of like they were out of a text book. Luckily, my mother's friend was reading a book called "The Boy Who Couldn't Stop Washing" and she told my mom about it after hearing about my fears (I was afraid if any handicapped people at my school touched me or I touched something they touched I would become handicapped myself) and I started therapy and medication.
@MrOurKid There are two subgroups of OCD. one is those diagnosed at 10-12 and the other is those diagnosed at 18-20. The younger group is thought to be more genetically based and harder to treat. As terrible as this disorder is, you are in the better subgroup, my friend. I would advise you to look into CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral therapy) if you haven't already. Hope this helps :-)

Bullshit you dumb motherfucker. Ocd is not all about getting illnesses and being cautious about getting infections by touching an object. People that do not have ocd will never be able to understand what it is like. It is far more complex than what had been described in the video.
@joshuapratt6 That's so true. It's about 99.9% mental. I have it and I have ZERO rituals. NONE. Only mental ones. I have one of the most severe cases of it fucking ever. In the history of ever. People misunderstand OCD too much, and it shows as soon as they open their ignorant fucking mouths. It annoys me so much. These people have NO idea what it's like. None.
Do I have OCD? Eveytime I tell myself to count till 10 or do something and If I don't that that thing something bad(everytime it's something else) will happen? Do I have OCD? /:
I've had OCD since I was 10 :( I hate when people always assume OCD has to deal with germs! I have never had that fear ever! I touch my hair constantly, and I know that's another common one, and there are other common ones too. But the media just wants to exploit the strangest part of any disorder, and it's stupid that they do that
I disagree that words don't work. My wife has been talking me through my OCD with rational explanations for years now, and I can lick the floor if I had to. The germ and chemical phobias I used to have are all but gone.
lol after watching this show i think i have ocd, they do things that i would never do in my life! One of them had to wipe bread or something all over the toilet seat and INSIDE the bowl then eat it they even dipped the freaking bread in the water and ate it. I would never do that in like 100 years!
I know exactly what you mean. I have a very mild example fo OCD, but my obsessions have nothing to do with germs. For example, I HATE bent paper. I wish I could go through one day without having to deal with it and I fight it all the time I've found ways for myself to deal with it but OCD finds new ways to make things harder then they have to be
@COoKieSnConVerSe Why can't you tell anyone? I hope you don't feel ashamed of it. Believe me, I wish I was like you at 12 years old! Telling someone and getting help is the best thing you'll ever do to yourself! :)

@kerii57 You got serious problems. I WOULD SEEK HELP ASAP If I were you (Thank God I'm not) but you need help sweetie. Here's a big fat hug for ya ok?...There you go. You'll be alright.
@atlasshrugged2u We don't need prayers. It's nothing bad. I have OCD and ya it can effect your life if you let it but you don't need aggressive therapy to deal with it. Everyone deals with it differently.
@theAPgirl0427 Everybody needs prayers (smile) If you don't want them then that's something different.
You make total sense though about everyone handling it differently. Some will need this kind of aggressive therapy, and some will have to go at a slower pace.
@IggyIrons They work for me dude (prayers)...Sorry your faith is not there; I hope some day it will be. But you sound hostile, and usually with that attitude "nothing" will work...Good luck!
@IggyIrons Oh I'm not worried hun; I already know your type. There's a deeper issue and that's cool you know...I mean I don't know you and really don't care to judge (how can I when I'm human like you) but you see the "proverbial glass as half empty, not half full" Given what youv'e been through I understand; but that's you, yup.
@atlasshrugged2u Also, think about this: If god is omnipotent and omniscient, entailing that he knows the future and "his plan" in advance, who are you to try and change that plan which god knows that will happen? And if healing you is already in his plan, because remember, this is simple logic and I'm assuming he is omniscient, why bother praying at all?
@IggyIrons Good question! In the bible it gives examples of God actually changing his mind in lew of prayer and the power of it. You can "reason" with God; things are not that black and white (most things are) but "some" things can be negotiated even with the Almighty!! It's a relationship, not a dictatorship contrary to what people may think. You just have to get to a place to where you acknowledge God; and respect his authority, which is what most people have a problem with. Your not alone :)
@atlasshrugged2u You just admitted, in your comment, that god isn't omniscient. If he changed his mind, he would've known about it in advance, therefore, not sincere. Also, I've read the bible, from cover to cover. It was

So I hear ya. Take care

@atlasshrugged2u Prayers have never worked, never work, and never will work. At least not above the placebo you get if you believe that bs.

@IggyIrons They work for me dude (prayers)...Sorry your faith is not there; I hope some day it will be. But you sound hostile, and usually with that attitude "nothing" will work...Good luck!

@atlasshrugged2u Don't worry, it won't. :)

It was
