I'm a young kid of Generation Y and I believe that I grew up in the wrong decade. I love music like this, music from the 60s, 70s and 80s. and I'm so jealous of those who actually got the chance to live through this time. Long Live Ted Mulry.
Nice song really enjoyed it, they can not make or compose music like this any more. I liked the girl in the clip I can remember when the girls wore short dresses and always looked great, like the girl in the clip. Keep up the good work
I went to High school with the girl in this clip. She was 14 at the time and was walking along the Corso Manly when she was approached. It is not Julia.
Just heard the song on radio after many many years.
@helgran2 Doubt your story. Even though he was a pom, Ted was a decent bloke. They would not have used an underage girl. Now if it was William Shakespeare, we might believe it.
I can remember when this was in the Top Twenty in 1970!!!!
We used to wait all week to go to the record bar on Wynyard ramp to pick it up before school. And michelleslave1 everyone wore their skirts that high in the 70's!!!
@larajuzz The record bar on Wynyard Ramp?? I used to work at Harrolds & haunted that record bar during my lunch hour! I'm proud to say, I had a bit to do with TM getting into the top 20. Those days, record sales was what positioned your song. I worked for Edel's Music, when this song came out, the biggest music shop in Sydney, at the time. I was in charge of the "singles - 45rpm" counter. Loved the song, played it all day. Sold heaps!
@nthqlndr , I am sure we had an Edels in Marrickville. I know I still have a heap of records with Edels stickers on them! Yeh we used to get the early train so we could get there b4 school!
There was also a donut shop nearby that was very popular, you could get a bag of reject donuts for an incredibly cheap price but can't remember how much now.Way too long ago! Ahh the memories!
I was a teenager in the 60's, and this song brings back so many memories. Makes me a bit sad because those days were truly the best, and I would gladly live them again, just to hear all these great songs.
Who did Ted right this song about?. He was a very kind man and he was welcome in my home at any time. When I was in LA/ USA we party a bit but not romatically, just for fun to go out. 2 Australians in the same city. We had some laughs.I did not attend his fund raising gig and now feel sorry I did not do so. I am sure his love was Sue? So many memories of that time in the music biz. So many lost who where great souls, lost in the end. RIP TED XXXX julie
@pjb98422 See tmg4evr one year ago: she was Julia Redmond and she was a part time actor from Melbourne and very beautiful but he acting skills were not as exceptional as her looks.
i forgot to mention this is one of ted's best songs-and much admired over the years-everybody wanted to know who was the girl and where was it filmed-he was so fantastically talented rock musician--went to early--thx for posting
@wesleyrocks1738 at a stkilda grand final function she walked off during this song-dont think she likes it--its too touching for her--shes a great knife thrower i hear-
@jannalli Yeah 2001. Both him and Shirley Strachan passed away within a week of each other. So that was 2 icons of Australian music passing within such a short period of time.
@jannalli... bugger another ozzie icon gone, it seems like the curse of fame in 70's music in oz is an early ending..thats terrible, i really loved the simplicity of this song, it was 2 dimensions then-just radoi-and lp's-, this song happened around the time of the uk music ban, which meant lots of extra air time for ozzies who till then had been in second place, and lots of covers..
I loved Julia and Falling In Love Again as a kid in the 70s. Ted and the gang played at my all girls high school in about 1974 - lots of screaming but lots of fun too!
most underated song -still to be discovered by some who just merely dismiss it as just a song--one of the best, sang by one of the best-i wonder like most ,who was that girl??
Thanks VERY MUCH. One of the most beautiful songs of that era...and subsequent ones. TM was a gift to Australian music. Thanks for making this song live again for us Mitch
Is that really WINI? WINI from Bilgola Beach, I was your milkman from Avalon Beach. You would have heard us singing Ted's lovely songs from your place. Brings a tear to the eyes.
I've always loved this particular song being my name is Julia ;-). The lyrics and the tune are timeless. So on behalf of all the other "Julias" out there, thank you so much for uploading this.
This was filmed at Footscray Park next to the city of Melbourne

Info from a previous post only, NOT my own info:
Ted's song was written for Julia Redmond an aspiring actress of the 70s.
I think it's her in the clip.
I don't know what became of her but would like to know.
Any contributors please?

Aahh......the innocence and simplicity of those times....
Note the lyrics "you must be very tired, you can't stop yawning, it's getting late you'd better stay 'til morning".
And you can just see them both trotting off to bed.....to actually sleep.....
I miss those days so much!!!!!
