im english and i really want to see ,more films from the german point of view, theres only so much you can learn from watching american style we win everything films -_-
And because I feel like a good rant! What the fuck is up with the kung fu roll and why the fuck does every American have a Thompson??!!! Somebody should pay me to do these movies; it wouldn't be hard to do a better job.
Whoever directs the action for movies knows nothing about basic tactics. In every movie they just walk up the road looking around oblivious to the enemy obviosuly waiting for them at the bridge. And if you were bringing a tank up why would you walk infront of it? The point of using it is for cover and there is no way you would attempt that bridge without mortars laying down HE and smoke first and covering fire from weapons platoon.
The Book "Die Brücke" is awesome. One of the favorite books of mine when I was around 15 yo. Still love it.
Sad part about that time is that everybody were so busy fighting German army that they totally missed who their real enemy was at the time. And communists with their ugly figurehead directing, used this for their own profit and were running their bloody circus 40 more years. Total failure of western politics and diplomats!!!
the failure is quite present even today,,, the faild politicans never left, the diplomats never ceased to fail... thats...why...Europe 1930 and Europe 2010,,,aren't even in the same world, such a shame upon us all
@OceanicMetal And scars...well most great nations have their on shames to carry. Spain in the americas, turkey with the armenians, australia with the aboriginals...and on and on. But the way to deal with those scars is not to deny them.
@OceanicMetal The SS only later in the war becomes multinational. And even then in segregated battalions. But you are right when saying the fault should not be exclusively given to the germans of that generation, there were plenty of petainistes and quislings across Europe. The holocaust of jews, slavs, gypsies etc started when normal people closed their eyes to the abuse the nazis started dishing out to german jews and the gasing of handicaped people.
I love the original Die Brücke made back in 1959, but this cracks me up! :D The barrel roll at 9:35, the randomly changing MG, and the (if I'm not mistaken) Leopard 1(?).
this apparently happenend in late march,or early april 1945,but the trees suggest its late summer early autumn, the original got all the details correct, there are so many clangers in this its almost a joke.
Btw, in the next part of the movie (conflict scene 3) THEY USED AN ACTUAL SHERMAN TANK!!1! SERIOUSLY WTF?!?
Did anybody involved in this project care even a little bit? They could have saved money by using the same tank in two scenes!! What was going on there??
1:30 Excellent example of leadership displayed by the General. He statrts with WTF? Upon finding out these kids were left in a lurch, he provides guidance, a written authorization for the supplies they need, a swift kick in the rear, and his blessing. Good leadership by any standard.

@LIVEMeltdown4ROCK so um....was the SS evil because it was multinational, or is that just an adjective you pegged onto it for no reason at all? :/

Hello.
The tank looks like leopard 1 tank. But that is Panzer 61. The Panzer 61 was a Swiss Cold War era medium tank.
