Mate I have the same card, the card is beast surely it can eat anything you bring before it. But as you show in the video it gets really hot. And since I lost my oldest card to heat, I am sitting here to scared to play games. And I mostly play RPGs which takes a lot time like 4-5 hours straight. Do you think even though it gets hot is 70-80C temp could cause any damage to the card in long term gameplay? Can it handle it? What do you think how long do you play?
I've been stuck between the GTX 570 HD DS and the 570 HD. Which would you recommend? I have a GTX 460 SSC+, which has the same design as the 570 HD, and I've had no problems with it. The 570 HD DS looks great. Which one should I get? Oh and the noise isn't really a big deal to me.
@McGarry3 I'm just worried about it overheating, because I've read that they get pretty hot, which is why I was considering the DS model because of the dual fans. I am also looking to SLI it in the future, so I'm not sure. Might just go with the HD model.
@CaseyTheDrummerBoy i didn't notice the the HD cooler also is a special evga thing and blows the heat back into the case... and the DS does the same with a bonus fan. especially if you are going for SLI its important to get the air out of the case. what about the reference design? it's not as bad as you might think and it transfers the heat directly out of the case.
@McGarry3 I've just never used one, nor have I known anyone who has had one, so I don't know much about them. Does any air go directly into the case or is that black fan like, closed? I figured it wouldn't be as strong as the HD version as for getting the heat off the processor. You think the reference design would be best, especially if I was going for SLI in the future? Also, my Azza Hurrican 2000 case doesn't have the best airflow, so maybe the reference design is best.
@barros86 buy the standard SC! the max temps are identical + the standard has vram coolers. so the performance/cooling is not better than the standard and the DS-version has no custom airflow... the hot air remains in the case, so the casefans must do all the work and the other pc components were heaten up.
@alexalexss i'm working with two monitor. they have different resolutions, so the card clocks remain in 3D mode all the time. it's a bug in the nvidia driver.

@Zechariah40 97°C is the max safe temp of a 580. i played bf3 on max setting for many hours and the card never reached this temp.

no i got the same card and i find it suxs to mucht nice and it go to hot for a dual fan card suxsss

Have you RMA'd the card, because it shouldn't get that warm with such high fan speeds. This is not standard but a manufacture error.

would you recomend this card?

In BC2 I touch the 90°+ lol but I have it in SLI.... so I try to reduce the FPS to reduce the temp and noise!

@CaseyTheDrummerBoy if you dont have a window to look at the ds-verison all the time, i would prefer the the 570 hd.

would you say that this card would be a better choice then the standard SC card when it comes to performance/cooling?
Since it has the custom designed airflow, you think it would be better, but is it really?

Your idle temp are too giht. I change my p192 for a cooler master Haf-x for that card.
Now in idle i have 34-36c and in load max 73-75!

@mseirco i won't buy another case just for this card. it good enough untill the 600er series comes out.
