as an aspiring fast bowler, i concentrate more on swing than pace...I currently bowl around 75mph - 85mph consistently but i would definitely sacrifice my pace to about 70mph if can get it to swing...
from my experience, the fast ball bleed runs against good opposition...the bastman just need to time it correctly and he can get a boundary with my pace...but if i swing the ball at a decent pace, he needs to be in the right position to time it, which is much harder!

@skeleman1963 well in base ball first of all its full toss no bounce secondly pitch in baseball is relatively smaller as compared to cricket. in cricket there is a rule to swing the arm fully however in baseball the is jerked which increases the speed further .:P

I question the validity of the 'speed camera'. Be that as it may, I think its a shame Shoaib couldnt quite have the longevity in the game that his ability dictated. I am an Aussie cricket fan. I just wish his body & his countrys politics were a bit stronger.

as an aspiring fast bowler, i concentrate more on swing than pace...I currently bowl around 75mph - 85mph consistently but i would definitely sacrifice my pace to about 70mph if can get it to swing...
from my experience, the fast ball bleed runs against good opposition...the bastman just need to time it correctly and he can get a boundary with my pace...but if i swing the ball at a decent pace, he needs to be in the right position to time it, which is much harder!

Shoab was fast but his action was a bit stressful. Shaun Tait's action is MORE stressful, even if he eventually breaks Shoabs record he'll never be able to play as much cricket as Shoab did. Comparing these "superfast" bowlers, I think Brett Lee has the smoothest action, so he can play the most cricket and keep his average speed high and more consistent than Shoab or Tait. Shoab deserves this record though, the fragile Ferrari of fast bowlers ;-) From an Aussie.
