Whoever marked the comment below this, the one posted by "Riflekid44" regarding Georgia should be ashamed. Note specifically that he was not condoning the war in Iraq, but rather condemning Russia's invasion of its neighbor. His position was thoughtful, nonagressive and mostly spelled correctly, all rare things on this website. If you censor his beliefs because you don't like them, what does that make you?
When a large world power invades a sovereign country in order to control the flow of oil, well, that's the sort of storyline that normally brings hundreds of thousands of protesters to the streets chanting "No Blood for Oil."
But will we be seeying the masses of the world rise up and condemn Russia for its naked aggression against its smaller neighbor, Georgia? I'll be waiting, but I won't be holding my breath.
You need to throw a b minor and e minor bridge in there. Also, performance wise, you need to stop turning your head to and fro-- it takes away from your conviction.
"Sunnis and Shiites just want their legal rights." What does that mean? You should explore this statement a little more. It sounds like you're rhyming for the sake of rhyming and it subtracts from the song's message.
Finally, the "blood for oil, man..." statement at the end. It's over-arching and should be deleted all together.
I think you are overly critical of him, the song was actually VERY VERY good.
"Sunnis and Shiites just want their legal rights." Makes absolute sense! Have you paid attention to what is going on in Iraq??? Haditha, Blackwater, we do what we want.
Also, I like how he keeps turning his head and the statement at the end. He is getting into the song, and it only makes is better.
I especially enjoyed the line: " we have set the bar so low its buried in the sand", that is from Barack Obama, isn't it? Good job of tying into today's current scene.
Good job, Don. My favorite videos of the entire lot.
Nice song - I like your mountains of Mourne too! Check out a song I wrote about an American soldier who survives Vietnam, only to lose his son in Iraq. When you open the video, you can view the lyrics by clicking on "about this video" to the right of the screen.

Catchy and honest -- this song deserves a big audience, IMO.

Where, before me, are the ages that have gone?
And where, behind me, are the coming generations?
I think of heaven and earth, without limit, without end,
And I am all alone and my tears fall down.

You tell it like it is, Don. (And isn't it amazing that not enough Americans are voicing this same opinion!)
You go, Don!
