I think the stig featured here is the best one, I really am not sure how many stigs there have been or if this is the one on the show, but the stig from this era of top gear seemed to have the most aggressive driving style on the test track of all them up to 2011
WOW! Now that is mind boggling. But to be fair, it wouldn't have made much of a difference if he had of picked up a £100,000 paycheck... The U.K Govt (last time I checked) takes over 40% of you paycheck if you get paid more then 100,000 (correct me if I'm wrong) in this instance, that would mean a 100,000 paycheck would be instantly shredded into a £65,000 paycheck.
@CubeLuda they do take 40% i think? but jeremy clarkson whos paid millions by the bbc, cheats by buying a house on an island off the british coast called the isle of mann and doesnt pay a penny in taxes!
Hmm, that could be possible to avoid taxes BUT unless he is paid in some other method, any money that is addressed in his name from his job is considered income, so he gets taxed before you even gets to touch it. Pfft.
I just checked the HMRC website and it states: "Rate: 50% Over £150,000" so that means if you make over 150k, you have your paycheck cut in half... literally. (75k!)
In this country, it sucks to be broke, sucks to be rich. Go figure :)
@timHYPERLITE The Isle of Man is indeed offshore but residents do pay income tax, albeit at better rates. The Island does not have corporation tax, inheritance tax or capital gains tax though. I'm an accountant on the IoM by the way..
@CubeLuda Not quite right. For a 150k income, you'd pay 20% of the first 35k, and 40% of the rest, making your "take home" pay 97k. The 50% bracket only _starts_ at 150k, it doesn't affect the whole year's pay, otherwise people would be doing all sorts of tricks to keep their pay under the nearest threshold.
Damn, i love that part where the Stig saves the day passing everyone in his path. Climbing 20 places in an hour and 20 minutes it's amazing...the driving habilities of the Stig are now been shown.
Of course he gets passed and it's not showed here, but anyway...that guy can drive really fast... ;)
That's what they want you to think. I doubt it was first in class the whole time, not to mention, it wasn't in the top class there. I really dont' think the Stig's as good as they says he is...
and Don't bring up the Hamilton thing. How many laps had Hamilton run on the Dunsfold course? Compared to this "Stig" Fellow?
when the stig is in a race to him it feels like sex.

@CubeLuda trust me the isle of mann is "offshore" the same as jersey, bermuda and st lucia if your a resident you dont pay income tax.

@thegreatbman ...although, 97k take-home pay isn't quite right either, since there's stuff like National Insurance to think about. Ugh.

How could anyone question the Stigs driving ability. The Stig is a cyborg built in a lab
solely to run fast lap times and destroy anyone that get in he's way on the track. He has more processing power then a Playstaton 3.
