will this work with iphone if you have the thumb drive software installed on your jailbroken iphone? because i know when you plug you iphone into windows you and open it up in my computer it shows a folder named the same thing DCIM

@flipm725 @flipm725 , no the new update like 4.2 or later has changed the power thing from 100 t0 20, so items that are there own power work but if they rely on another like a usb it wont work

@AORNOfficial It copies it over onto the ipad so you need to leave atleast a gb free on the ipad to copy the movie over, then just delete it after you done.

it is not working, nothing happens,

i tried DCIP and DCIM none of these folders is working ... but it works with pictures and with the folder DCIM, but not with videos

have you installed something from cydia, that it works??

@motocross4ever100 Make sure your flash drive is formated to fat32 and the videos are formated for the ipad and mp4 format, i just checked to see if it still works with 4.3 and it worked for me.

@motocross4ever100 Im going to have to try to do this again. I haven't done it with my iPad 2 you might want to see if its your file name, i hear that you can only have 6 digits other wise it doesn't detect it.

@sean89503 that could have been the prob., but it isn´t ... oke, now i installed ifile (from cydia) and i don´t have to make a dcim folder, i just have to put all the vids. on my usb drive, start ifile and watch the films ... i even don´t have to import them :DDD so it is quite cool

@motocross4ever100 I just tried it and i worked for me i used handbreak to rip the dvd using the presets for ipad then i put it on a flash drive and made a DCIM fold and named the file 12345678.m4v (make sure its all numbers) and it worked. note that some flash drive take too much power so if you get an error you have to try a different flash drive. I formated mine to FAT32.

i also converted my vids. with handbreak in mp4 .. i also tried mkv, but it is also not working ... now i have 4.3.2 (jailbroken) ... do you have any other idea, what am i doing wrong??

Hi there, Thanks for the tip, only with my Ipad, i had to name the folder: DCIM to get it working.

@k34jfa and another thing, when you import the usb drive, the movie file will be save locally on the ipad, so you really don't save diskspace with this tip, it doesn't play the movie from the usb stick but from internal storage.
