The 1999 NHL draft is by far the worst draft in sports history. Take away the Sedins, Miller, Malone, Havlat and Zetterberg, nobody from that draft is a star. Stefan was the worst 1st overall pick ever in the NHL, Daigle atleast broke 50 points.

I remember seeing this in the highlights, this was a spectacularily incredible blunder of epic proportions on the behalf of Patrick Stefan. The cockiness he displayed with his skate the puck to the empty net routine, lol, ultimately backfired and blew up in his face. Now he's not only known for being one of the biggest ever Draft busts, he's now infamously known as the guy who did this ^.

take out the sedins and you realize literally the entire draft was a bust, with the exception of miller in the 5th to buffalo and the wings stealing zetts in the 200's, but you cant count them because really only 1st and 2nd round picks have bust capabilities. Yes stefan sucked, but when you compare him to what else came out of that draft, you realize how a scout could mistake stefan for having talent, only 6 first rounders from that draft still play today, one having a two way contract
