the thing about wow is, that its from blizzard, wich means its similar to other games of blizzard like D2 or Warcraft 3. The similarity lies in the story of the races and in the way abilities look like, the names, and the way they work.

WoW is currently the most popular MMO out there, and in due time, that will surely change. Before WoW, the giant on the scene was EQ, and before that? I can't even recall. I play both WoW and 4 Story, and I don't know which came first, but I love both games. My personal affection aside, neither is a rip off of the other. So let's call a truce.

You can have a biased ideal of what the game is, but without actually delving deeply into the game mechanics and playing at higher levels, you can't say anything about the game with any level of certainty. Also, saying WoW is a crap game is something you and many other people may hold to be true, but in fact many people love it. Opinions vary as widely as taste in music.
