Floor can sing anything! All you said is just your opinion, not an objective fact! One can only state facts only if they do know what they are talking about, if they do know what skill, power and hard songs are. Any expert would realize the fact that Floor has incredible vocal skills, power and the hardest songs to sing.
Lori Lewis is great, but she can't beat Annlouice Loegdlund in Classical singing, especially in vibrato.

LOL, if you said that to an expert's face, they'd laugh at you! Tarja's Classical singing is mediocre: terrible fake vibrato, false sound, painfully forced "high" notes, etc. Floor's Classical singing IS actually wonderful, and she could easily sing TRUE and HARD Operas, because her voice has NATURAL power AND volume, two things that Tarja's voice lacks. She also DID study Opera, while Tarja never did. She even admitted it on her official Forum.
You dont actually have to studdy "opera" to be able to sing some features in it..Tarja took lots of years in classical and that has done so she can sing in some opera songs
Tarja can't hit higher notes than Floor. As far as I know, both Floor's and Tarja's highest RECORDED note in head voice was F6, but Tarja was born a Mezzo, so she's still very limited. She sings with difficulty the notes outside her natural singing range, and she always will, because her natural timbre is too dark/deep, and for a dark voice will always be hard to reach high notes, that require a very light/bright voice.
I guess Floor could go higher, if she worked on her head voice. After all, she's a natural Soprano, with a very bright vocal timbre, and if natural Mezzos, Altos, and even Sopranists (high Tenors) can sing F6 in head voice and/or falsetto, then why wouldn't a natural Soprano be able to sing higher notes than F6?
Anyways, Floor has a 4 octaves singing range (F2-F6). She beats almost every female singer in Metal, in range, technique, power and versatility.

Tarja DID perform some Operas, but her voice just didn't sound right. It lacked the volume, loudness and power a real Opera singer has. Her technique was also mediocre. She doesn't know where to place the sound, or how to project her voice, things that a professionally trained Opera singer does know. She performed those Operas in a Classical way.
And yes, she did fake her vibrato plenty of times. It just didn't have a natural flow, like real Opera singers', and also like most Classical singers'.
I never said that she can't sing Opera at all. I just stated the fact that she didn't perform Operas well. Some of her Operatic performances are ok, but you can't compare them to Diana Damrau's, Maria Callas', or to any other professionally trained Opera singers'. If Tarja had Opera singing lessons, she'd probably improve both her Operatic and Classical singing, but I think that she should stick to chest voice and/or belting.

I mean, just listen to "Live To Tell The Tale". It's a bonus track on the Special Edition of "Once". It's one of few Nightwish songs that truly showcase her chest voice. Vocally, it's probably my favorite Nightwish song with Tarja!
You may have seen some of her bad live videos. She was probably sick and tired, that's why she may have sounded bad. If you search for more live Krypteria videos, you'll definitely find good performances too.
By the way, Ji-In Cho may not have perfect techniques and an extremely powerful voice, like Floor Jansen, but she definitely has talent and a very beautiful voice. She also has a similar singing range. Anyways, talent is the most important, and she has it. With study, vocal training and practice, she could become just as good as Floor.
I love their voices, but Floor is definitely the best singer in Metal! :)

Yes, she is truly amazing! She has one of the most beautiful voices and she can actually sing very high notes in pure chest voice. Liv and Tarja are pretty good, but they only sing in head/mixed voice and their vocal colors are not that beautiful. Anyways, judging by vocal skills, they can't be compared to Ji-In Cho. The other singers you mentioned are great, but Ji-In Cho is much better. And remember, no one's voice is perfect live.

To me, Vibeke will always be remembered, and venerated, as Tristania's FIRST and best lead singer. I cannot picture anyone else performing Sanguine Sky, Angellore, My Lost Lenore, Evenfall with such poignant beauty as she does it. Also, a true Tristania fan would know that Vibeke immortalized those songs, and that if anyone else would replace her, it would be quite difficult to emulate the same effect.

She is still flawed, and considering that Floor moves a lot in metal concerts and changes her chest voice to head voice constantly, proves that she is definitely better than Tarja, who had mistakes while not moving at all.

If it is just by numbers, then pop is better than metal, since it is mainstream. Anyone with an ear can see that Floor actually hit the right notes, without screwing them with an exaggerated note such as Tarja's.

For not having a classical voice, she actually teaches singing and managed to do classical songs in Tristania. Tarja, in Phantom of the Opera, screamed out the last note rather than singing it, proving that her register quite reduced.
Actually, it does make Vibeke´s voice better. The way she sings is clearer and it is easy for her to reach notes that Tarja could not reach.

Anneke is actually quite famous, Tarja is only more famous cause of the NW dilema. Nightwish is better without Tarja. I cry everytime I hear Anneke her voice is filled with alot of passion and charisma. And The Gathering are the best band fronted by a female.

Floor can sing anything! All you said is just your opinion, not an objective fact! One can only state facts only if they do know what they are talking about, if they do know what skill, power and hard songs are. Any expert would realize the fact that Floor has incredible vocal skills, power and the hardest songs to sing.
Lori Lewis is great, but she can't beat Annlouice Loegdlund in Classical singing, especially in vibrato.
Do not try to state ''facts'' based on your personal preferences!

So if what ever Tarja now is singing if that is not opera than what Floor is singing is not that either! LOL, if you said that to an expert's face, they'd laugh at you! Tarja's Classical singing is mediocre: terrible fake vibrato, false sound, painfully forced "high" notes, etc. Floor's Classical singing IS actually wonderful, and she could easily sing TRUE and HARD Operas, because her voice has NATURAL power AND volume, two things that Tarja's voice lacks. She also DID study Opera, while Tarja never did. She even admitted it on her official Forum.

Tarja can't hit higher notes than Floor. As far as I know, both Floor's and Tarja's highest RECORDED note in head voice was F6, but Tarja was born a Mezzo, so she's still very limited. She sings with difficulty the notes outside her natural singing range, and she always will, because her natural timbre is too dark/deep, and for a dark voice will always be hard to reach high notes, that require a very light/bright voice.

I guess Floor could go higher, if she worked on her head voice. After all, she's a natural Soprano, with a very bright vocal timbre, and if natural Mezzos, Altos, and even Sopranists (high Tenors) can sing F6 in head voice and/or falsetto, then why wouldn't a natural Soprano be able to sing higher notes than F6?
Anyways, Floor has a 4 octaves singing range (F2-F6). She beats almost every female singer in Metal, in range, technique, power and versatility.

Tarja DID perform some Operas, but her voice just didn't sound right. It lacked the volume, loudness and power a real Opera singer has. Her technique was also mediocre. She doesn't know where to place the sound, or how to project her voice, things that a professionally trained Opera singer does know. She performed those Operas in a Classical way.
And yes, she did fake her vibrato plenty of times. It just didn't have a natural flow, like real Opera singers', and also like most Classical singers'.

I never said that she can't sing Opera at all. I just stated the fact that she didn't perform Operas well. Some of her Operatic performances are ok, but you can't compare them to Diana Damrau's, Maria Callas', or to any other professionally trained Opera singers'. If Tarja had Opera singing lessons, she'd probably improve both her Operatic and Classical singing, but I think that she should stick to chest voice and/or belting.

I mean, just listen to "Live To Tell The Tale". It's a bonus track on the Special Edition of "Once". It's one of few Nightwish songs that truly showcase her chest voice. Vocally, it's probably my favorite Nightwish song with Tarja!

You may have seen some of her bad live videos. She was probably sick and tired, that's why she may have sounded bad. If you search for more live Krypteria videos, you'll definitely find good performances too.

By the way, Ji-In Cho may not have perfect techniques and an extremely powerful voice, like Floor Jansen, but she definitely has talent and a very beautiful voice. She also has a similar singing range. Anyways, talent is the most important, and she has it. With study, vocal training and practice, she could become just as good as Floor.

Yes, she is truly amazing! She has one of the most beautiful voices and she can actually sing very high notes in pure chest voice. Liv and Tarja are pretty good, but they only sing in head/mixed voice and their vocal colors are not that beautiful. Anyways, judging by vocal skills, they can't be compared to Ji-In Cho. The other singers you mentioned are great, but Ji-In Cho is much better. And remember, no one's voice is perfect live.

I'm Totally agree with your coment about the vocalist, I like Tarja but also there's a lot of beautiful voices in the metal scene.
I like Sharon den Adel, Floor Jansen (I think she has the stronges voice I've ever heard), Simone Simons, Vibeke Stene, Tarja of course, and all the vocalist of Sirenia.

To me, Vibeke will always be remembered, and venerated, as Tristania's FIRST and best lead singer. I cannot picture anyone else performing Sanguine Sky, Angellore, My Lost Lenore, Evenfall with such poignant beauty as she does it. Also, a true Tristania fan would know that Vibeke immortalized those songs, and that if anyone else would replace her, it would be quite difficult to emulate the same effect.

No. Nemo is not a very fast song and she screws it regardless, just as Anette used to screw it in her beginnings. The same for Wish I had an Angel, only that I prefer her version to Anettes.

Tarja still has a bad low register, while Vibeke... And yes, she does reach a higher note. Besides, both Vibeke and Floor teach singing. Tarja does not. If that does not mean that Vibeke has a wider register, then I fear you are deaf.
And Vibeke, for a weak singer such as you say she is, did a great job in Wasteland Caress.
Floor has taken opera, and she herself said that she could be in a popband, rock band, or an opera due to her training at Rockacademy.

Tarja has a horrible low register and that is a fact.
I was at a MWS concert and, while she sang awesomely, she was not perfect exactly. Her low register is pretty weak.

She is still flawed, and considering that Floor moves a lot in metal concerts and changes her chest voice to head voice constantly, proves that she is definitely better than Tarja, who had mistakes while not moving at all.

Have you seen Floor live? She does mistakes to every artist does do so!...Tarja has also a different type of voice than Floor..Floor has more of a rocker voice than Tarja but that doesent mean she is better!...Tarja do things FLoor cannot do and Floor do things Tarja cannot..But I am saying Tarjas Classical parts are stronger than Floors!

As I said, that is your taste, not a completely valid opinion. I could say that Miley Cyrus is a better singer than Vibeke Stene, however it does not mean I am right. If it was so, then I do not really want to imagine who could be better than Tarja.
Floor has a wider voice register, and can sing both higher and lower than Tarja. If that does not mean she is a better singer...

And I dont think Floor have a wider voice register its not true that Floor sings lower better than Tarja!.You only thinks so because of Tarjas bad english it makes it sound bad because of how she pronoucne the words..But when she sings classic songs or songs in finish her lower register is GOOD.Tarja do acktually sing more HARDER songs than FLoor and pull of classic songs which Floor never could so if that doesent make her a better singer..

If it is just by numbers, then pop is better than metal, since it is mainstream. Anyone with an ear can see that Floor actually hit the right notes, without screwing them with an exaggerated note such as Tarja's.
Give me examples of how Floor cannot handle high notes.

For not having a classical voice, she actually teaches singing and managed to do classical songs in Tristania. Tarja, in Phantom of the Opera, screamed out the last note rather than singing it, proving that her register quite reduced.
Actually, it does make Vibeke´s voice better. The way she sings is clearer and it is easy for her to reach notes that Tarja could not reach.

If they where better as you are saying they would have been more famous, more comments and their videos and more people talking about them etc....Nightwish became the most successfull band in this genre BECAUSE of Tarjas voice!!...They all started from scratch with the same chance this genre was new mixing metel with Opera and the audience responded most to Tarja that speaks for it self!!!!!!!!!....I se hundres of people in the Audience CRY when Tarja sings NOT with Vibeke Floor..and Anneke

Anneke is actually quite famous, Tarja is only more famous cause of the NW dilema. Nightwish is better without Tarja. I cry everytime I hear Anneke her voice is filled with alot of passion and charisma. And The Gathering are the best band fronted by a female.

You dont have a clue of what you are saying!...Earlier you said Floors classical singing is better than Tarjas which is bullshit!..Tarja have taken classical singing and over 15 years that is way longer than any of Vibeke and Floor...her Experienc and talants can be seen MUCH more by just watching her perform..And dont even get me started on Anneke who cannot even be compared to Tarja...If their where a jury of 100 people who where grading Tarja with the other girls I CAN PROMISE you ..TARJA ALL

I'm not going to speak for Anneke since, while I find her a good singer, I'm not that fond of The Gathering. Sure it has some cool songs, but...
Anywayz, yeah, Vibeke is a better vocalist than Tarja. Tarja has a pretty bad low register, while Vibeke can master it pretty well, she herself being a soprano. Of course, it's my opinion.

Tarjas low register isent Perfekt I know that but her Higher IS!!!!...and Yes Vibekes lower register is good because it is than she sounds beauitul but when she sings high registers she is nothing different from any girl...So Tarja is better!...She sounds beautiful on Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan and on Swanheart...Tarja do things Vibeke simply cant thats why Tarja is a better singer!..What Vibeke can do can Tarja also do but in a better way!

I'd recommend you to watch your grammar. Just a recommendation, don't take it wrongly.
And Tarja's high register, while good, isn't as clear as Vibeke's.
Besides, even if it was true that Vibeke is worse than Tarja in a high register, it doesn't mean that Tarja is better due to the fact that her lower register is... well... just plain flat, while Vibeke's is pretty good, especially for a soprano. Besides, she does reach a higher note.

Um, Vibeke's voice is clearer, and has a better "colour" than Tarja's, whose vibrato sometimes slips.
I'm not saying that Tarja is bad, just that she's not as good as Vibeke.

Her voice is clearer because of her english thats all!...Tarja doesent need to be good at english to become a awesome singer!!!!..Who THE HELL said someone have to be good in english?....Tarja sings awesome in other languages! And when a singer is taking classical and opera lessons then the voice becomes in that way!..Floor is acktually NO different than Tarja! Floors english is just as poor when she do classical parts in songs!...which she is not doing any more quite sad I think.

When did I mention languages? Vibeke actually has a smoother voice than Tarja's. Anyone with half an ear could notice that. Plus, her register is wider than Tarja's.
Interesting that you didn't mention the obvious fact that Vibby has a better classical techinique in vibrato.

The thing, Epica, is that Floor actually took over Opera, what Tarja didn't. That makes her definetely a better classical singer since she is an opera singer. :)

WHAT???? took over Opera?...Whatever Floor has done in the Opera classical singing Tarja have done it for quite a while MORE and Longer!!..And Tarjas classical singing is better!!! She sings true classical songs outside of her solo carrier and Nightwish songs that FLoor never could pull out!...And Tarjas notes are more classical than FLoors.Floor is more improvising her notes but they sound operatic because of her classical training...If took some years in classical I could do what FLoor do to!

no....annlouice of diblo swing orchestra has the best classical singing but her voice isn't anything special...and that's why i like tarja more :she can apply her good classical technique to her beautiful voice colour ...but i have to admit that i didn't liked her so much in end of an era her vibrato sucked there and her singing had nothing to show it was totally flat....

Tarja was sick in the End Of An Era so I think she still was awesome who could perform 16 songs without getting burned upp...I dont think FLoor or Vibeke could have handleded that situation performing 16 songs sick at the same time
