This song is saying that she was too afraid to let him go, but now that she has, and she wants him to suffer like she suffered being under his abuse. Its an aggressively sexy song about ending grief and letting go of someone/something that has been hurting you. That is why I posted the comment saying this s to my ex, because i was afraid to let him go, now I have, I'm happier now:)

I'm not sure who left who in the relation ship' if he did, then letting her go was a sacrifice that she's grateful for. If she let him go, he was the sacrifice. The sacrifice was to break up. When she talks about hate and hurting, that's simply descriptions of the her feelings of the "sacrifice".
