Great montage. I would've used Orgia to represent Malena, but regardless, there's no denying his imitable talent. As for the 29 idiots who missed the 'like' button, they must be deaf
What a great list! Truly! - I know The Mission is in the list... but you should've added the song 'Ave Maria Guarani' from it... ahh, it's so beautiful!
actually once upon a time in america has like 3 fabulous themes, such a great work from morricone, btw its a shame malenas main theme was not included un this video, probably because it is quite similar to Once upona time in america's love theme
I've never understood the mass appeal of Morricone. Sure, he is a talented composer, there is no denying that, but none of his music gives me goosebumps. I guess I just don't "get" it.
Morricone's Western (cowboy) compositions are perfect but my personal favourite is his score for Lolita. It is absolutely sublime - heartbreaking and dark at the same time. The 'Quilty' track is particularly brilliant. If anyone wants confirmation of his genius, get the Lolita score.
@stitchgrl777 - I re-read the book after many years a few months ago, and whilst reading, Morricone's score kept playing in my head for certain scenes in the book. Heartbreaking to say the least.
Hey, I also noticed that this series lacks Bernard Herrmann's contribution. Herrmann is a favorire film composer of mine. He's familiar with the psychology of music, for example, listen to his soundtrack to Hitchcock's "Psycho" and "Vertigo".

nice integration of the tunes...flows fairly seamless...always loved Morricone's adventurous style...coupled with an operatic gusto that makes his stuff very unique and almost immediately identifiable...
I ,first apologize to any purist of classical music...But, just let me write..Maestro Morricone was born in the right country..but in the wrong year,,,Can all of you imagine If he had lived during the renaissance? WOW!! Mozart was great..and So Ludwig...But Ennio (FOR ME!!) He's up there..Bravissimo Maestro date di piu'...
@swanzenswanzen I rhink I'm with you. If not a purist, I've been a mostly exclusive lover of classical. I had always loved Cinema Paradiso and Once Upon a Time in the West, for their stories AND THEIR MUSIC
My favorites are missing here. The score from "For a Few Dollars More" (1965) and the score from 'Guns for San Sebastian" (1968) are some of his earliest and best.
Il maestro will probably will be considered one of the 2-3 greatest composers of the 20th century. I use him a great deal in my videos. There are some missing which are better than some of those included (e.g., Red Sonja, The Thing, Bulworth)...like Battle of Algiers, For a Few Dollars More, A Fistful of Dollars, The Red Tent, Burn (or Queimada), La Califfa, etc. I think his four best were The Red Tent, Once Upon a Time in the West, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, and The Mission.
Where can I hear the full track of the theme played here at 7 mins. from the Bulworth soundtrack (wish to hear before buying). Thanks in anticipation.
hopefully his music will be remembered as well as MOZART music was , cos its classical in its own right , 20th century music wiv the origins of 17 post 18 th century music
His best one was in the "Legend of 1900" in the piano scenes...i ain't know the name of the songs...it's too many..if anyone knows the names i want them...
It's not right to compare music or their composers..... each one is unique.... music can never be superior or inferior ...... music is simply music...... enjoy!!!
the exorcist II is one of the rare cases where the soundtrack is better than the actual film. Other ones I can think of are Superfly and the 70s version of Lost Horizon.

HAHAHA weird studio people. here's how it works, people come here, get impressed with the music, and GO OUT AND BUY THE ORIGINAL because they want the best quality there is... this is just a sampler for people... idiots
