Morricone's Western (cowboy) compositions are perfect but my personal favourite is his score for Lolita. It is absolutely sublime - heartbreaking and dark at the same time. The 'Quilty' track is particularly brilliant. If anyone wants confirmation of his genius, get the Lolita score.

Hey, I also noticed that this series lacks Bernard Herrmann's contribution. Herrmann is a favorire film composer of mine. He's familiar with the psychology of music, for example, listen to his soundtrack to Hitchcock's "Psycho" and "Vertigo".
