  • Ed wrote- I still find the same negative responses in many public schools about fantasy art and do my best to lecture and produce seminars to prevent that sort of thing from ever happening to young people. If you are willing to put the effort and time into your study and have the fire burning within to create art through drawing and painting nothing can stop you except yourself.

  • Ed wrote: I started drawing anatomy studies and copying the Renaissance masters when I was 11. I was obsessed and practiced everyday as soon as I got back from school and all summer. I never had professional art classes nor a supportive art teacher as they felt my style of art and subject matter was a waste of time....heh...they even failed me and eventually kicked me out of art class by the time I was in 10th grade.

I took this act against me and turned it into the motivating force to prove them all wrong. I speak of this because -

  • incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I won's stop drawing until I'm as good as you!!!

    This is awesome

You should write an art book and share some of your tecniques there. I've been drawing for 2 or 3 years myself, but there's now way I can get near this!

Man - you make me want to study anatomy. This video has been very helpful to me. THANKS! (favorite) -Shade

  • Ed wrote: I actually have created a full color art book (edbeardjr com) with over 100 images that take your through the b/w line to the full color image.(This is a full color heavy 4 color press printed and perfect bound book NOT a print on demand book either) It has some step by step however it has much more anecdotes and tips with info on reference and other aspects of my 27 year long career.
