can someone please explain the point of a touch-and-go landing

@Volarknight Its done in case the runway is blocked for some odd reason. Also good practice for the pilot in setting up for landing and t/o. Stopping and taxiing back for t/o again takes way more time than a t/g.

What an awesome jet. One of Britains finest. No other Sub-Hunter could match her. The Con/Lib Dem govt is soft on defence so that was the end of the Nimrod in all it's marks. A bad decision which will be regretted one day. Interesting the UK Govt had to save one Nimrod from the knacker's yard temporarily for the Libyan emergency. What are the Con/Lib Dems gonna do next time there's as emergency? Hire a DC 3 from a museum?

Sad to think shes completely airworthy their and now she will never take to the skies again although she is capable of doing it.. Hope she continues to live on for many years to come.
