Actually, if you watch a number of these videos it becomes clear that her anxiety is caused by a speech impediment preventing her clear pronunciation of "l" or "r." Here at 0:09 she catches herself before saying "hard" but settles, to her obvious dismay, on the word "difficult." Honestly I think she's really brave to even do these spots. They must've been scary.

You could always try curling it with a curling iron a few times a week, right after taking a shower at night, which I hope you do every day. Then put it in a hairnet or wave cap (do-rag -that's its actual purpose!) before you go to bed, and after a while, it will begin to stay the way you curled it. Or you could do what I do, and accept your hair for what is, however much you may hate it. Now, can you tell me how to make mine stay completely flat when I straighten it? It always frizzes. : (
