Look at how got damned connected he is to that horn. This is god in your face. Not that Scott or another human is God, but that God flows through humans like this is amazing.
the first time I listened to this man it was impressive, and a bizillion years later he still nails the vibe...Concord jazz label releases are great...
No--you won't see Scoyy Hamilton do the back flip ice skating. This one is the master of the horn on this Chuck Hoggy Carmichiel song. Kidding 'bout Chuck nor Sarah nor Casey. Eat yo black heart out WJC.
the scooped notes and vibrato are okay, they just come from or refer to an earlier age of jazz playing as anyone who knows and loves the tradition as a whole knows and recognizes. There's more to jazz then the latest and greatest of today.

@Vapor419 i suppose your a pro in the same league as scotty eh hes written film scores ect what have you done go on show us all here we wait with baited breath at the thought of seeing your genius
@Vapor419 What an amazing comment, you don't hear what is special, then visit a doctor. The world has heard of Scott Hamilton, who, apart from we unfortunate few, has heard of you you sad man.
This is the classic S.H. quintet: John Bunch on piano, Phil Flanigan on bass, Christ Flory on guitar, Chuck Riggs on drums. Maybe early 80s? John just died in New York City at the age of 88. One of my very favorite pianists.
Nikola Tesla on sax!

It's like an excellent tomato sauce you could have with the best pasta, smooth with an extra something, followed by a sip of good wine (red/Italian)

Scooped way too many notes, puffs out cheeks, and overuses vibrato...what's so special here?
