I agree with everything on this video and I both abhor and avoid circuses, teaching my 10 year old daughter that they, and other similar institutions, are extremely cruel to animals. However, it bothered me greatly when this video's producer said "designed by evolution..." The Darwinian Theory of Evolution is absolutely false and ridiculous. The evidence against any possibility of it's reality is absolutely overwhelming. How could evolution, if it were true, design anything, anyway?
The human race is one that is so cruel, cold, and heartless and these wonderful animals. It is unbelieveable. We were given these animals to love and take care of and this is what we do to them?!

Could you please provide proof that this is a Ringling event? There wasn't one time where it was pictured as Ringling Event. For all i know, this is a film set or a county fair.
What I'm trying to say is, the behavior these horses are displaying can be explained away as behavior a common pasture horse, who's out in the open most of its life, will display while in stall right before its fed or when it knows its time to do something. And minis will jump up and down like that to see out of a stall. All behavior I've seen in other horses who were definitely NOT left in stalls or enclosures for extended periods of time. It doesn't prove your point, which is probably true.
also, horses can display such actions out of excitement. my horse will also act like that whenever i bring people to see him. some horses may act like this to large crowds. this horse may be a new show horse and simply not used to the condition it in. also the horse is both fit and has a shiny coat. this means that the horse has been properly fed and gets time to run around in the day. this means that the animal is not only well taken care of but it doesnt sit in the pen all day long
@nwrinn - This horse's life consist of: (1) spending most of it in this cage; (2) time "performing" in the rehearsals and the "show"; (3) walking to and from the train every 5 or 6 days; and (4) being on the train from 24 to 100 hours every week. There is no time to "run." The fact that this horse looks physically good is a testament to the biological evolutionary strength of the horse specie not Ringling's care, which is designed for the ease of transportation not for the comfort of the horse.
@nwrinn If he were just excited, he would be alert because he would be excited by or about something. On the contrary, he's acting like he's in a trance. He's not looking at or responding to anything, he's just moving. That's not excitement, it's a coping mechanism for severe distress like boredom, frustration, or fear.
@nwrinn oh shut up. horses are supposed to have acres of land to run around in. even a stall has more room than this shitty place. don't be so ignorant.
@kgreco14 -- It would depend on many variables, including; how much space the horse was provided, if there are other horses around and the personality of the individual horse. Some elephants who have been rescued from the severe confinement of the circus still exhibit the stereotypic behavior, some not as often, and some don't. But it also depends on similar variables.
I practically live on a farm.. And I've seen SO many horses weave like that in a stall. Some horses are stall horses and some are pasture horses. Not EVERY horse likes to be in a pasture. I've seen horses gallop the fence and bray because they don't like being turned out. ALSO, we have a couple minis. The stallion jumps up and down at his gate like the mini in this video does when it's time for him to get fed.
I'm not saying that the animals are perfectly cared for, but you're WAY dramatizing..
@patcuvie Actually, I've seen horses that only spend the amount of time it takes to feed them weave like that. Also, these horses KNOW they are about to be out in the ring performing for people, horses used for performance get extremely excited right before they are to perform. Barrel horses will weave like that standing in the arena aisle waiting to be released to run the pattern.
@IamMeAlways94, um, horses whinny, donkeys bray. Check the length of your critters' ears, maybe. Stereotypic behaviour is a bad thing, m'kay? It's a clear sign of stress, in ANY textbook. Human OR animal. Getting excited at feeding time is NOT the same thing as an animal locked in a cage. Jeeesh, buy a clue.
@IamMeAlways94 Weaving and other stereotyped behaviors are a sign of stress, frustration, and/or mental problems. Behaviors like this, including weaving, are recognized by responsible horse owners as an indication that the horse is suffering mentally. If you don't believe that, just google "equine stereotypic behavior" and look at how many papers and articles there are trying to understand and treat these problems.
This video is far too biased and full of human attributes to be credited as true. You should get your facts straight. Stabled horses can exhibit the same behaviours. These behaviours are the same as riding vices, the horse has its means of coping.
@MoNgOoSeSxiNxmYxbEd - It is sad that you have little, if any, understanding of these horses' biological needs, that are not so different from your own. Based on your lack of understanding of horses it is not surprising that you don't feel any compassion for these particular horses. I can only imagine how insensitive you are to the horses you personally use. It is a tragedy that such uncaring people such as yourself are allowed to "own" and 'use" other animals for your purposes.
@patcuvie Haha you sad retard. I've got a PHD in equine behaviour. Of course I feel compassion for them, I love horses and own them myself. Do you think making assumptions on how I treat my horses makes your comment stronger? Trying to prevent a horse from stopping a vices is cruel, and leads to distress. These horses have found a way to cope. Its sad but true. Get over yourself, and know who you're acusing. I'd be devastated if my horses acted like this. Biological needs! Do you feel smart?
@MoNgOoSeSxiNxmYxbEd a phd! wow! so smart! you're better than everyone! and still calling people retard. your knowlege is foolishness. your insulting others is wrong. get some real higher education on how to treat others. a little thing called the golden rule or are you too high for that.
@greatbigbubby Notice how you're not telling me I'm wrong anymore. I know how to treat others, you were the first one to say something personal, so at least I'm not a hypocrit. Just because I have an education, doesn't mean I can't be rude about people insulting me. Your making assumptions about who I am and how I treat animals based on a comment is wrong. I think you're getting carried away here, was just letting you know that personal insults in reponse to a neutral comment is just nasty.
@greatbigbubby Do you know what's wrong? When someone makes false personal acusations in response to a neutral comment. What is so wrong about my first comment? Nothing. Is this anything to do with you? No. I know how to treat other people, but just because I have a higher education than someone, doesn't mean I look at anyone differently. In this case I was just using it to demonstrate that I know what I'm talking about, snd that I take offence to personal insults used in this manner
@greatbigbubby And don't be such a hypocrite, you're not exactly being very polite yourself. If anythin gyou said were to have meaning, you would have said it more politely and without prejudice.
They grey isn't in distress anymore because he's developed the behaviour to cope. Sure it's not ideal, but to say hes in distress is wrong. There is also nothing you can do to stop a steriotypic behaviour, and it is unethical to do so as you are taking away the horses coping mechanism, and how are the crowd meant to know whats going on? Most of thoses people aren't familiar with horses, for all they know, he could be trained to 'dance'. And you cant call the mini 'Mad' Thats a human trait
@MoNgOoSeSxiNxmYxbEd -This abnormal behavior is not a "coping mechanism" for the stress caused by severe confinement, it is an expression of the stress. It is easily preventable by providing the horse with an environment where he can express his biological needs, such as moving about freely, and it is unethical to ignore this horse's stress by not providing him an environment where he has outlets for expression of his biological needs. Any animal can be driven "MAD," including the human animal.
@patcuvie - it is true. this may not be a coping mechanism of the grey horse, but i must say that i have seen similar behavior from my own horse. my horse will move like that in a round pen when he has finished his food. He will start to "taunt" and "show off' to the horses in the pasture. He is 17.1 hands so he is used to being the biggest animal. When he sees the 2 Clydesdales in the pasture, he shows off to them with the same traits that the gray horse gave to try to seem larger.
I have got to say that I have been riding for as long as I can remember and without a doubt there are many horses out there that 'weave' like that Arab...HOWEVER I have NEVER seen anything like that poor mini!! Something must have completely snapped in that poor little guys mind :( Horribly sad!
My friends horse bobs her head up and down all the time but shes fine! her stable is huge and she has a whole 5 acres to roam in waht do you think that means i mean really you cant call Sky crazy
who the hell puts an full-blooded arabian horse in such a small stable ?! of course he is gonna get nervous and bored ! yes guys , the white horse is an arabian horse and they are the most nervous horses on the earth , if you don't anything about your horse , you shouldn't keep him. just saying .. and hey , if I was you , I kicked some butts out there !
my pure arabian is far from nervous she's a bag of excitable energy who loves to explore and find out new things, she's the opposite from nervous she's incredibly curious and will face a challenge with courage and a bellow!
Just correcting you there, they are the the 'most nervous horses on the earth'
my pure arabian is far from nervous she's a bag of excitable energy who loves to explore and find out new things, she's the opposite from nervous she's incredibly curious and will face a challenge with courage and a bellow!
Just correcting you there, they are not the 'most nervous horses on the earth'
My girl has no problem with staying in a stable, truth be told any horse will be nervous when kept in a small stable not just an arab, it's horribly cruel, a horse needs to move, it's like a nervous energy they can't move so they develop a lot of nervous tics so to speak - such as tossing the head like th above video.
It's sad isn't it ... a horse needs to move, they need to release this energy.
wth , that white horse is a full-blooded arabian horse every dork can see that. that are thr most nervous horses on earth so why do they put him in such a small stable ?! of course he's gonna get crazy ! if you don't know anything about horses , horses aren't made for standing in a stable , you have to give them something to do. let them run , give them a ball in the stable - it's very usefull -
just saying , and if I was you , I kicked some asses out there --'
Boy I didn't know there were so many ignorant people in the world about animal behavior. This is only a small part of the day. This is not the type of abuse I see. What about the people that love their horses and ponies so much that they give them so much food they founder over and over because their too fat. This is pathetic.
now we can appreciate the misery people go threw when put into solitary confinement to get compliance (obedience) from the prison staff. people whose only infraction was disobeying some petty thing like sitting down or shut up. dept of corrections is no such thing, many do not deserve to be in solitary for months or years at a time. the animals don't deserve it either. I don't go to circus, I seen first hand how callous the people were.
WTF? These poor animals!!! What is this "Ringling"? Here in Australia we take animal cruelty very seriously. I hate pet shops, circuses etc but at least our animals have large area's to rome around in around the circus tent even the elephants. This is bullshit. Where is this footage toake? What country?
this ringling show needs to get closed. ere in britain i think we take animal welfare more seriously and while cruel individuals exist, shows and shit like this can be governed and closed.
Seriously if the circus came to my town, i would have a massive go at them. I would never leave the place. I would try and take all the animals away and save them.
Yeah it sound stupid like No you would never do that..
Another dated video. Also with an appeal to people's vulnerable emotions. Might have been true back at that time, but most of their hoofstock are with their handlers now last I saw.
@keepersofwildlife - I go out every year in August and September and the living conditions and the horses' reactions to them are still the same as of last year. I don't anticipate any change to these conditions this August & Sept. as well. I am not clear what your statement "most of their hoofstock are with their handlers now" means. Are you saying the "hoofstock" stay and sleep in the handlers quarters or are not kept in cages?
I'm by no means saying that what they're doing is moral or ethical, I'm simply stating fact of the animals mental state and current activities.
I'm surprised there's no patchwork (kwik-stop powder or wraps) on any of the animals, thought, horses and camels are difficult to injure they're some tough beasts. Especially horses, I mean; have you ever seen horses fight? They beat the heck out of each other and rarely break skin.
Poor horse, he's swaying so hard it looks like his knees 'll be screwed in a week; he's so bored and anxious he can't stand being still. Looks clean and well muscled though, I'll give 'em that much.
The camel and the mini were just anxious, they're very excited to get out; they probably know that they're going to be working soon.
When an animal is confined for long periods; e.g. while in transit, they tend to be obsessed with they're work as that's all the mental stimulation they get.
I hear about their elephants ,this is the first video I have seen about the treatment of their horses. That horse was way too upset to be kept so close to a crowd and construction equipment
hmm try to count the number of things wrong in this video.... im ashamed if i saw that id literally be bustin their asses out n locking the low life filthy inbred people in cages
People and the government choose not to intervene because it's not a big enough problem for them! If they don't see it, they figure it doesn't exist. All circuses and some people in general should NEVER be allowed to own or treat living animals like they do not matter. I am ashamed to be apart of a species that treats others with no regard to there mental and physical health. It's disgusting!!! People need to wake up and take responsibility.
In sweden we call it that the horse"väver" and thats is a bad thing, a horse that is in freedom is eating 23 hours of 24, the last houre they are moving.
What I'd like is to see how these exact animals performed in the show that day. I'm sorry, maybe those horses were suffering (I definately have never seen them behave like that before) but without other activities linked, I can't buy this.
People who visit animal circuses are dumb and heartless people. Even when as a child I went to one, I felt bad for the animals all the time. But most people just don't care and believe any excuse they hear so that they don't feel bed when they support abuse like this. And I find it very sad when people make up stupid theories on why it's normal for animals to act this way. It's obvious people who see this as innocent boredom or natural behavior have never been in real contact with an animal.
just sayin that the horse pacing back and forth and flingin their heads, isnt stress. its boredom. those animals adapt to the lifestyle just as normal people adapt to things. but any animal when bored will pace, chew, paw the ground, fling their head, swat their tail, and typcially make noise. theyre tryin to entertain themselves just as we do. happens on a daily basis at most barns
@PtLowrain Exactly. Even prisoners are treated better than how animals like this are treated. Anyone with commonsense and intelligence should be able to tell that this kind of situation is totally inhumane and wrong.
I have a horse and that horse is stressed.! They do that out of bordum. They should give him some hay and maybe let him have some turn out or even lounged to calm down. Horses are not meant too be in stalls. My horse is in his stall most of the day but he is ridden 5 to 7 days a week and turned out at least for 2 hours a day in a big grassy field.
@nggaplz - There are very little, if any, protections for horses. Basically a person can do whatever they want to a horse short of starving them. Even with the elephants and tigers, although there are protections, the USDA will not enforce the law. The relationship between circuses, especially Ringling, and the USDA, who is entrusted with enforcing the "Animal Welfare Act," has been more of a partnership than regulator.
@nggaplz Anyone with any intelligence and common sense would know that the behaviour of these caged, trapped animals is not natural. How could you even ask such a stupid question? Unfortunately, there are too many ignorant, uncaring people like you around which is why this kind of thing keeps happening. Hopefully though, enough intelligent, caring, proactive people can get together to try to ban this horrendous cruelty.
@leicestergirl63 Common sense tells me they wouldnt like it, but it doesnt tell me that it is half as horrible as you lunatics at peta and other animal rights groups claim it to be. Sorry this was a stupid question to you, but most people dont understand the over caring, almost to a point over which humans are typically cared for, that the few people that are part of these organizations do. Sorry to insult you in anyway, just trying to understand the mindset of the people who post these videos
@nggaplz "... you lunatics at Peta and other animal rights groups ..." ? ? ? Interesting how people who think it's acceptable to abuse and ill-treat animals consider animal lovers who care about animals and their welfare to be "lunatics". In fact, it's the total opposite - people who are evil and treat animals (and probably people as well) badly are crazy, and people who care about and respect animals, and other people, are sane, decent people!
@leicestergirl63 I have never and will never hurt or treat a fellow human or animal disrespectful (willfully). However, I am not going to turn myself in to some fool who posts non stop emotional opinions everywhere I go. I dont feel like really defending myself because I now see how you think in this situation and understand why youre angry
@nggaplz Well, at least you understand why I (and others who care about the welfare of animals) are angered by this kind of ill-treatment. It's all about having respect for other living things and not forcing them to endure torturous, inhumane living conditions. It's also about treating others the way you want to be treated yourself. Nobody in their right minds would want to live in the way some animals are forced to live by callous, uncaring people.
@nggaplz It's called commonsense. It's not normal for animals to be cooped up in tiny cages like that with barely space to move. Most of these animals probably almost never get "released" from their cages to be able to move around normally. Horses in their natural environment are very social animals who can roam large distances so it hardly takes a huge level of intelligence to realize that this horse, and other animals like it, is being kept in inhumane conditions.
@newyorkhc84 I never have taken such a pointless class in college and never would waste my money.. classes like that are meant for sissys who care too much about everybody but themselves
i have seen racing horses and jumping ones behaving the same way, and they are at a hipic center. i think it is not the ringling, but the lack of distractions or other activities.
Just wanna comment on a comment you made patcuvie." Horses are also very social animals and when living free, they live by their own social order - Bands run by stallions, where the babies are raised by their mothers" Not true. Wild horse bands are led by a lead mare. It is her job to run the heard. The stallion is there for breeding and helping to protect the herd. He also keeps the bachlors in check. Just an fyi.you are correct about the mares raising there own babies tho :)
Ringling has been exposed on many sites and videos like this keep being posted. Yet still people continue to attend their circus and support this treatment for animals. Many people are NOT educated on this matter and therefore they don't know how they contribute. They are supporting the circus and therefore supporting the treatment of their animals. Help spread the word and shut circus's like this down.
Man-made tyranny must end. How do we end it? Of course I do not attend circuses, rodeos, zoos, Sea World, any thing that contributes to the inhumane confinement and control of another sentient being. I also have been veg for 27 or 28 years. But, is there a petition or email address where we can protest directly? Can anyone rescue these suffering animals? Can we demand that laws change to protect all creatures?
Who made this video ? Where was the location ? Event ? How can we know this is Ringling ? Please help me find out ! I am all for exposing Ringling, but we need to have the true evidence on this !
umm i have a saddlebred n hes just fine in his stall i do not see ne abuse here the stalls are clean and there is fresh food n water horses pace all the time even when out in pasture so tell me could it be the large abount of people walking around with video cameras adding to the aggrivation hmm just a thought i dont see an issue
@giggilycheese1 You don't see an issue? Unfortunately, it's people like you who are happy to turn a blind eye to blatant cruelty (or who are stupid enough to not even be able to recognize it when they see it) who keep circuses like this going, and the abuse and ill-treatment of the animals continuing. Shame on people like you.
If you can't give your animals good living conditions you shouldn't be allowed to have them at all... Anyone can see that these animals aren't happy with their living situation.
my horses are in 40 acre cells... They pace all the time, sometimes there will walk 10 metres one way along the fence line and 10 metres the other.... They have mates in the same paddock, water on tap, hay racks full along with filling pasture to graze... I am not being cruel, I have given them everything they need, yet they continue to do it... They are not being abused but naturally do it.... Explain this then?
All Shetlands/Miniature horses are slightly crazy. Because there little and they think they can get their way. this one was too short too see so he was jumping up and down too look. He hasn't been sent completely crazy! your and idiot the person who produced this video as where on earth am i ment too put my horse when it rains huh? just let them freze too death ummm no! i will put the 5 horses in stables together where they can all see eachother. wake up too your self
poor horses! you should not see them in thous cages you should see them running free in a pasture or winning 1st in a horse show. i would pry the cages open to get them out
My dad told me the same thing, "He is Dancing" My dad told me and as an adult I recently told my dad about this and he said "I didnt want to spoil the circus for you. Now I NEVER attend Circus's. It is cruel.
@Taino871 i know your not trying to fight, and some horses pace when they get excited like when they see their hay or food coming. i want to make a point to anyone, that just because a horse is pacing doesnt mean that its distressed. and yes them people there could have calmed both of them horses but they cant just throw hay in there because a horse can colic if it eats right before a long workout....
@caressei1324 think about this just for a moment...you love your horse, when not doing shows I'm sure it is kept in an open space where it can graze at will and run to get the exercise it needs to maintain a healthy body and mind. You probably provide medical care when necessary and have formed a bond with this very intelligent creature.
The greatest crime of all is that Ringling are still getting away with doing this to animals. Circuses talk about self regulation? Fuck that! Circuses cannot be trusted to look after animals properly something that is proved time and time again sadly!
NATURAL HORSEMANSHIP is the only right way to work with a horse. And an open stable, where the horse can go out and in where it want.
I HATE Circuses, und THIS Horses are definitly crazy. I work with this categorie of horses and i am shocked, how this animals suching love, respect and a real LIVE !!!!!
Poor animals ... SRY for bad englisch xD A speak german and came from austria xD A hope you understand a little bit xD

Nosey was in Minong WI in Aug. 2009. all alone chained in the bed of a truck in ungodly heat with no shade.
The owner of this 'family' circus entered the US illegally & then asked for asylum (what, circus asylum?). Now he is torturing animals in this country, hitting this girl w/ sledgehammers & using bullhooks. Even if you don't agree w/ peta check out the 6 PAGES of USDA violations on this circus.
He's had shows canceled for refusal to have criminal background checks done on his employees!
uh bakka sometimes horses do that in a stall when your getting grain or getting something they ready but when there happy definatly not. you aperntly dont know shit, about horses
i've always hated the circus. when the animals were made proform you could always see the pain in their eyes. it's so cruel. unfortunately, the uneducated in our society think this abuse of power is entertaining and worth paying money for
Horses like toys, they could have bought three soccer balls. They are pretty cheap.
The camel, horse and mini horses could have kicked those around. All that room in the parking lot for bigger cages. They didn't use the space cuz they didn't car how the animals felt apperently. They also could have caged all of those animals to gether in a nice sized pen. I don't think a camel and horse would fight.
Is this the same case for humans who are caged up, like prisoners? Do they display the same physological actions? What would happen if these camels and horses were allowed into larger spaces to roam, would they act differenly or be "cured"?
This is so sad and all just walk by and not one talk to him or comfort him. What can be done to stop this? I will not ever attend another animal circus again as long as I live! I did not know these animals were treated in such a horrid fashion.
I worked at an event center and while I worked there the circus came two times and I felt so bad for them(the animals). They play really loud music and I'm sure it hurts their ears. Also they were kept out in the parking lot with very little shade, the only ones I ever saw get washed down was the elephants. I also witnessed them use a hook type device to get the youngest elephant to sway his head.

@kgreco14 -- It would depend on many variables, including; how much space the horse was provided, if there are other horses around and the personality of the individual horse. Some elephants who have been rescued from the severe confinement of the circus still exhibit the stereotypic behavior, some not as often, and some don't. But it also depends on similar variables.

greatbigbubby 6 months ago
I practically live on a farm.. And I've seen SO many horses weave like that in a stall. Some horses are stall horses and some are pasture horses. Not EVERY horse likes to be in a pasture. I've seen horses gallop the fence and bray because they don't like being turned out. ALSO, we have a couple minis. The stallion jumps up and down at his gate like the mini in this video does when it's time for him to get fed.
I'm not saying that the animals are perfectly cared for, but you're WAY dramatizing..
IamMeAlways94 7 months ago
@IamMeAlways94 - Or you are minimalizing the suffering because it is a common occurrence in your life and you have become desensitized to it.
patcuvie 7 months ago 13
@patcuvie Actually, I've seen horses that only spend the amount of time it takes to feed them weave like that. Also, these horses KNOW they are about to be out in the ring performing for people, horses used for performance get extremely excited right before they are to perform. Barrel horses will weave like that standing in the arena aisle waiting to be released to run the pattern.
rilndrmlrh 5 months ago
@IamMeAlways94, um, horses whinny, donkeys bray. Check the length of your critters' ears, maybe. Stereotypic behaviour is a bad thing, m'kay? It's a clear sign of stress, in ANY textbook. Human OR animal. Getting excited at feeding time is NOT the same thing as an animal locked in a cage. Jeeesh, buy a clue.
GREAT video. Thank you.
AnimalLeftist 3 months ago
@IamMeAlways94 Weaving and other stereotyped behaviors are a sign of stress, frustration, and/or mental problems. Behaviors like this, including weaving, are recognized by responsible horse owners as an indication that the horse is suffering mentally. If you don't believe that, just google "equine stereotypic behavior" and look at how many papers and articles there are trying to understand and treat these problems.
Sondakhan 3 months ago
This video is far too biased and full of human attributes to be credited as true. You should get your facts straight. Stabled horses can exhibit the same behaviours. These behaviours are the same as riding vices, the horse has its means of coping.
MoNgOoSeSxiNxmYxbEd 8 months ago
@MoNgOoSeSxiNxmYxbEd - It is sad that you have little, if any, understanding of these horses' biological needs, that are not so different from your own. Based on your lack of understanding of horses it is not surprising that you don't feel any compassion for these particular horses. I can only imagine how insensitive you are to the horses you personally use. It is a tragedy that such uncaring people such as yourself are allowed to "own" and 'use" other animals for your purposes.
patcuvie 8 months ago
@patcuvie Haha you sad retard. I've got a PHD in equine behaviour. Of course I feel compassion for them, I love horses and own them myself. Do you think making assumptions on how I treat my horses makes your comment stronger? Trying to prevent a horse from stopping a vices is cruel, and leads to distress. These horses have found a way to cope. Its sad but true. Get over yourself, and know who you're acusing. I'd be devastated if my horses acted like this. Biological needs! Do you feel smart?
MoNgOoSeSxiNxmYxbEd 6 months ago
@MoNgOoSeSxiNxmYxbEd a phd! wow! so smart! you're better than everyone! and still calling people retard. your knowlege is foolishness. your insulting others is wrong. get some real higher education on how to treat others. a little thing called the golden rule or are you too high for that.
greatbigbubby 6 months ago
@greatbigbubby Notice how you're not telling me I'm wrong anymore. I know how to treat others, you were the first one to say something personal, so at least I'm not a hypocrit. Just because I have an education, doesn't mean I can't be rude about people insulting me. Your making assumptions about who I am and how I treat animals based on a comment is wrong. I think you're getting carried away here, was just letting you know that personal insults in reponse to a neutral comment is just nasty.
MoNgOoSeSxiNxmYxbEd 6 months ago
@greatbigbubby Do you know what's wrong? When someone makes false personal acusations in response to a neutral comment. What is so wrong about my first comment? Nothing. Is this anything to do with you? No. I know how to treat other people, but just because I have a higher education than someone, doesn't mean I look at anyone differently. In this case I was just using it to demonstrate that I know what I'm talking about, snd that I take offence to personal insults used in this manner
MoNgOoSeSxiNxmYxbEd 6 months ago
@greatbigbubby And don't be such a hypocrite, you're not exactly being very polite yourself. If anythin gyou said were to have meaning, you would have said it more politely and without prejudice.
MoNgOoSeSxiNxmYxbEd 6 months ago
They grey isn't in distress anymore because he's developed the behaviour to cope. Sure it's not ideal, but to say hes in distress is wrong. There is also nothing you can do to stop a steriotypic behaviour, and it is unethical to do so as you are taking away the horses coping mechanism, and how are the crowd meant to know whats going on? Most of thoses people aren't familiar with horses, for all they know, he could be trained to 'dance'. And you cant call the mini 'Mad' Thats a human trait
MoNgOoSeSxiNxmYxbEd 8 months ago
@MoNgOoSeSxiNxmYxbEd -This abnormal behavior is not a "coping mechanism" for the stress caused by severe confinement, it is an expression of the stress. It is easily preventable by providing the horse with an environment where he can express his biological needs, such as moving about freely, and it is unethical to ignore this horse's stress by not providing him an environment where he has outlets for expression of his biological needs. Any animal can be driven "MAD," including the human animal.
patcuvie 8 months ago
@patcuvie - it is true. this may not be a coping mechanism of the grey horse, but i must say that i have seen similar behavior from my own horse. my horse will move like that in a round pen when he has finished his food. He will start to "taunt" and "show off' to the horses in the pasture. He is 17.1 hands so he is used to being the biggest animal. When he sees the 2 Clydesdales in the pasture, he shows off to them with the same traits that the gray horse gave to try to seem larger.

Weaving is a stable vice seen occasionally in horses - but that is ridiculous!
That's a little more space than my pony gets in the HORSEBOX when he is being travelled. his stable is twice, maybe three times the size of that.
I think World Horse Welfare needs to address the cases with the horses.

crystalwolf2006 11 months ago
I'm by no means saying that what they're doing is moral or ethical, I'm simply stating fact of the animals mental state and current activities.
I'm surprised there's no patchwork (kwik-stop powder or wraps) on any of the animals, thought, horses and camels are difficult to injure they're some tough beasts. Especially horses, I mean; have you ever seen horses fight? They beat the heck out of each other and rarely break skin.
animelover462 11 months ago
Poor horse, he's swaying so hard it looks like his knees 'll be screwed in a week; he's so bored and anxious he can't stand being still. Looks clean and well muscled though, I'll give 'em that much.
The camel and the mini were just anxious, they're very excited to get out; they probably know that they're going to be working soon.
When an animal is confined for long periods; e.g. while in transit, they tend to be obsessed with they're work as that's all the mental stimulation they get.

Hrema 1 year ago
just sayin that the horse pacing back and forth and flingin their heads, isnt stress. its boredom. those animals adapt to the lifestyle just as normal people adapt to things. but any animal when bored will pace, chew, paw the ground, fling their head, swat their tail, and typcially make noise. theyre tryin to entertain themselves just as we do. happens on a daily basis at most barns

Hopefully though, enough intelligent, caring, proactive people can get together to try to ban this horrendous cruelty.
leicestergirl63 1 year ago
@leicestergirl63 Common sense tells me they wouldnt like it, but it doesnt tell me that it is half as horrible as you lunatics at peta and other animal rights groups claim it to be. Sorry this was a stupid question to you, but most people dont understand the over caring, almost to a point over which humans are typically cared for, that the few people that are part of these organizations do. Sorry to insult you in anyway, just trying to understand the mindset of the people who post these videos
nggaplz 1 year ago
@nggaplz "... you lunatics at Peta and other animal rights groups ..." ? ? ? Interesting how people who think it's acceptable to abuse and ill-treat animals consider animal lovers who care about animals and their welfare to be "lunatics". In fact, it's the total opposite - people who are evil and treat animals (and probably people as well) badly are crazy, and people who care about and respect animals, and other people, are sane, decent people!
leicestergirl63 1 year ago
@leicestergirl63 I have never and will never hurt or treat a fellow human or animal disrespectful (willfully). However, I am not going to turn myself in to some fool who posts non stop emotional opinions everywhere I go. I dont feel like really defending myself because I now see how you think in this situation and understand why youre angry
nggaplz 1 year ago
@nggaplz Well, at least you understand why I (and others who care about the welfare of animals) are angered by this kind of ill-treatment. It's all about having respect for other living things and not forcing them to endure torturous, inhumane living conditions. It's also about treating others the way you want to be treated yourself. Nobody in their right minds would want to live in the way some animals are forced to live by callous, uncaring people.
leicestergirl63 1 year ago
@nggaplz It's called commonsense. It's not normal for animals to be cooped up in tiny cages like that with barely space to move. Most of these animals probably almost never get "released" from their cages to be able to move around normally. Horses in their natural environment are very social animals who can roam large distances so it hardly takes a huge level of intelligence to realize that this horse, and other animals like it, is being kept in inhumane conditions.

Poor Animals! :( Help stop animal abuse!

i've always hated the circus. when the animals were made proform you could always see the pain in their eyes. it's so cruel. unfortunately, the uneducated in our society think this abuse of power is entertaining and worth paying money for

These poor horses!!

Is this the same case for humans who are caged up, like prisoners? Do they display the same physological actions? What would happen if these camels and horses were allowed into larger spaces to roam, would they act differenly or be "cured"?

Dont Support Ringling Bros. "THE CRUELEST SHOW ON EARTH"!!!
CruelRinglingBros 1 year ago
This is so cruel....and it is all about money. Animals do not belong in a circus...they should be free in the wild.
