  • wow. i could only get through one page of your "way too in depth comments." Get a life.. Both bands are the schnit in their own ways.

  • best thing these losers ever did ,

  • @oiyabastard NAME-CALLER!!!!! This sounds decent to me, in the mindset of it's a concert recording (which automatically makes it sound like shit). And yea, I listened to an album with "live stuff" that hasn't been made that famous ... yet lol. Some of it sucks and some of it works; but this song is much better than a lot of the drunken, offbeat tunes I've heard in a live venue. And Kurt's singing always rocks.

  • awesome:)..))..>

  • 0:04

  • This sounds like a bunch of drunk teenagers playing in mom's basement.

  • @MrTonythetuna thats what nerdvana is

  • ONE MO00:00RE TIME!

  • Kurt can barely play guitar.....BTW he sings as he plays unlike most bands. In my opinion I think nirvana sounded amazing live. One of the best liver performers imo and they always played a fuck ton of songs unlike other bands who play like 9 in a set

  • My guess is Cobain was a fan of the Cars. This album came out in 1978 and I think Cobain was 11 or 12 at the time. The guy probably liked a variety of music.

  • @LeeB9999 His tastes were pretty eclectic in the pop/rock genres. Read Heavier Than Heaven if you're interested in getting a better idea of what he was listening to.

  • The Cars + Nirvana What else would I ask?

  • It cracks me up when band after band thinks they need to do a "dark" version of the Cars. Makes me think they didn't exactly get the Cars. They weren't pop, they just sounded like pop. A sort of weird stealth version of alt rock before the term existed.

Thanks for sharing this, though. Quite entertaining. YouTube is worth the time because of content like this.

  • I can't even hear it.

  • am i the only one that thinks this is really good and different? i fucking love this soo much i wish they recorded it professionally

  • @davisjstreader: At the end of this, he's saying the opening words to the Cars "Moving in Stereo". I agree this is Nirvana's funny dark take on the peppy '80s pop hit (like the goth pep rally in their Smells Like Teen Spirit video). Clearly it's not meant to be taken too seriously.

  • terrible...

  • I love Nirvana and I love the Cars and this is awesome and it made me smile and I'm glad I got to listen to it. :) what the hell is he saying at the end of the song though?

  • All the shi__y bootlegs of Nirvana performances make them seem worse than they were live - LOL.

  • As a fan of both bands I don't quit know what to make of this.As a Cars fan I have to say not much effort went into this which makes me think F you Nirvana for not trying very hard to make this good. As a Nirvana fan I hope they were Cars fans and didn't mean to disrespect the band and were just trying to make it sound different and were paying respect to The Cars.

  • this audio sucks

  • I love The Cars and I love NIRVANA.....I don't know about this cover though. It's not an 'abomination' it's just very different. A lot of times people get defensive if something isn't a spot on cover, I appreciate when people take their own spins on a cover. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

  • cool

  • The Cars and Nirvana kick ass!

  • @EVERYONE FUCK YOU. MY ARGUMENT AND PENIS IS BETTER THAN YOURS GAR GAR GAR KURT IS GOD MY OPINIONS ARE RIGHT GARRRR GARRRRRR

  • @thespecter2 wow you're retarded aren't you, nirvana was just a band of heroin junkies who made songs for fun and to feed their addiction, they were basically a one hit wonder with a few other good songs, i would never look up to them as anything more than a symbol of the 90's, kurt cobain was no slash he was just a punk ass kid, that's what people like about his music not because he could play really well.

  • @MrRushbrown Nevermind was chalked full of hits, postmortem and prior. In Utero was a KILLER album. And Unplugged was a demonstration of what bands like Kiss could only dream to do. Nirvana was multidimensional. It is punk rock. It isn't meant to be technically savvy. It is catharsis driven, emotionally powerful (and also careless) music. I like how you dismiss them as heroin junkies. Maybe I'll dismiss you as an ignoramus.

  • @thespecter2 i'm not saying that i dislike them i'm saying that people need to quit worshipping nirvana as the best band of all time jesus you arrogant piece of shit i hate people like you who think they're better than everyone.

  • @MrRushbrown Just stating my opinion, man. But I like Nirvana big time and despise the Nirvana fanboys. They usually talk about the same stuff and think Nirvana's underground music they made is something special. I like the Cars a lot too though, this cover is lazy and unstructured. They should have put in more effort.

  • @thespecter2 "They should have put in more effort." Well said. They were clearly capable of doing this song justice and they just did a muddled, half assed version that they should of never did.

  • @whiskerbicuit Nirvana did this a lot with various songs. It's not really meant to be taken seriously. I'm surprised at how many people are criticizing this as if it was serious

  • @MrRushbrown you just said you liked them. why are you comparing two bands you like. i like the beatles and led zeppelin but im not gonna compare the two because there two different bands

  • @MrRushbrown how im i riding kurt cobains dick? cause i like nirvanas music. i like alot of peoples music, wat the fuck does tht even mean. i dont get why ur so upset. sounds like ur riding the cars cocks.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrRushbrown look im not tryin to hurt ur feelings or anything. there are tons of nirvana songs that are underrated and over looked. i like the band wat the fuck is wrong wit tht? i like the cars too so why are you on my dick and wat point are you tryin to make? how bout u listen to wat u listen to and ill listen to wat ill listen to.

  • @risingpauler just keep riding kurt cobain's dick

  • @mobycat when i hear the cars on the radio i turn it the fuck off, wanna know why cause the cars fuckin suck. okay some of its tolerable but come on nirvana is one the best bands of the 90s, therefore yes they will be played 30 years from now. the cars werent the best band of the 80s. just sayin

  • @risingpauler

    Punk vs. Pop.....apples and oranges.

  • @risingpauler what are you talking about nirvana is the most overrated band in the world kurt is hardly even able to call himself a musician he can't play for shit you just ride his dick like everyone else

  • @MrRushbrown LOL The Cars are good and all but were never on the existential level Cobain and Nirvana were. The Cars were power pop, Nirvana was pop but they were also punk. The Cars' depth was about an inch deep. Nice try though.

  • @thespecter2 yeah whatever just keep riding nirvana's dick like every other teenage kid. nirvana can't play for shit, i like them and i think they sent a good message about our generation but you can't say they were better musicians than the cars because kurt can barely play guitar

  • @MrRushbrown Actually, if you'll listen to studio versions of their songs, you'll see that he could "play guitar." Just listen to "Blew" or "Sifting" or "school" from Bleach...or "Dive" or "Stain" from Incesticide and you'll see what I mean. Shit, even "In Bloom" has a great solo. Eddie Van Halen sucks balls. Amen.

  • @thespecter2 what are you kidding me? They had well over 14 hits and best hardcore fans. the CARS music is timeless, proves you dont know what you'r talking about

  • @THECARS7879 LOL I like the Cars, I don't understand where this is coming from. They were hit machines, as I pointed out. Power poppers. They are in my top 25 all time.

  • @thespecter2 oh ok i thought you didnt understand their huge success. Some people call the CARS power pop, i called them new wave, guitar rock , i guess power pop punk.

  • @MrRushbrown you dont know what your talking about man nirvana is actually good

  • LMAO! Read the responses. "F" this,"F"you. HAHA. You pimple poppin, "Mid-90's born mama's boy pricks are actually fussin and gettin pissed at a computer screen simply at my posted opinion.

Just goes to show the intelligence of idiots who bought into this so called garbage called music.

  • @platecrumb fuck you the cars will never be nirvana. well see whos relevant 50 years from now

  • @risingpauler Funny thing... when I listen to the radio I hear the Cars FAR more often than Nirvana. Two totally different bands, but The Cars started over 30 years ago and still get airplay. Will Nirvana at that point? Only time will tell.

  • Thank you so much Nirvana for taking a great classic, and completely destroying it.

By the way is that f you finger the one you used to yank that trigger?

  • @platecrumb Yeah you sound dumb, Nirvana is a great band

  • @platecrumb fuck you cock

  • @platecrumb Wow man... is that necessary?

  • they should ttake this pic and make it ito a nirvana shirt

  • nirvana overrated as shit

  • I like how he try's to get that lead rockabilly lick in there at "Here she comes again", like the cover, love the song.

  • @narred lolol I'm fairly young and I still complain about my generations music!!! But ur right, there are some good ones from today, anything in alt rock like franz Ferdinand and foster the people.

  • why do old ppl always complain that music was better when they were around?90s was great but there have been so many great bands since [qotsa, pj har, umm. i can think of more. i just cant be arsed]. record industry is just goin thru a tectonic shift atm [and in the uk? fkn forget it!most uk rock is just poppy alt]. US have had the best rock bands and best appreciation of rock [eg, bush?uk rock bands have to go to US/Europe to be appreciated].oh yh,this a good off the cuff cover[well, 3 chords?]

  • I love Nirvana. (:

  • @BluFlamze Lol, I'm sorry man, I wasn't being serious. Sarcasm and humor does not really go that well over the internet.

  • @BluFlamze Yeah, Jesus, you know, the messiah? The supposed "savior" of man kind? The person that died for all the sins of humanity? If he DID exist, he would fucking hate you. I'm sure your parents and everyone else does too. Don't play the retard with me pal.

  • this is horrible

  • @danpfd i agree

  • I hate Nirvana....

  • @siLveRscOpe13x i hate you

  • @NERO31ZMN At least I don't sound like I have mouth cancer. ;)

  • @siLveRscOpe13x por lo menos yo tengo buen gusto musical : )

  • @siLveRscOpe13x Nirvana hates you too, and so does Jesus.

  • To each their own but I would take a COVER (look up the definition, its not meant to be exact) like this as opposed to the whiny sterile radio crap you hear over the last 10-13 years. All the stinkin Linkin Park and recycled riffs of the Muse are old and boring. We have not had a good NEW band in the last 20 years to really speak of. All of the good bands that are around are musicians that have been around for the last 20+ years in different bands.

  • what a bunch of cry babies sorry they couldnt please everyone. do you wish you could just do what you wanted for fun without assholes judging your every fucking move looking into shit too much instead of listening if they like and shutting the fuck up if they dont? yeah me too

  • I loved it. Just my opinion and I dont need purist nutswingers telling me otherwise.

  • am i the only one that loves this cover.... and for it being 100% spontaneous and unpracticed i think that it was pretty good....

  • i think they should leave this song to the cars... just an opinion i dont need nirvana fans telling me otherwise

  • @Filia... Amen, my friend. Motherfuckin Hallelujah!

  • wtf? why are there so many negative comments? they were just having fun and it was live. nirvana is an amazing band.

  • Horrible. Who misses this group?

  • @FredSkelton I do motherfucker.

  • @FredSkelton A huge sum of people, dumbass.

  • they always had a bit of fun doing covers

  • that was an abomination

  • @JustSomeGuyOk

I rarely ever burst out laughing when reading comments but when I do, its awesome :)

  • @JustSomeGuyOk See what kurts holding up? He got it on sale at target. FUCK YOU.

  • @GoodTimesChopShop they sell human body parts at target?

  • @JustSomeGuyOk Why not.

  • @JustSomeGuyOk Better than their cover of Sharona!

  • Classic Nirvana photo. Love it!

  • i love nirvana <3

  • they did crappy tryi to sing the cars!

  • @bloodydixon They did it better than The Cars did it at Lollapalooza! lol

  • @rockonhard77 in ur opinion =)

  • @bloodydixon Rick was forgot chords and lryics and was off cue from the bass tracks
