I personally liked the ending, it was unique and put a twist on it that was definitely unexpected. It would have been interesting to see more about the creatures though.
Have you ever seen the Australian horror movie Primal? It has an ending somewhat similar in surprising concept.
I liked the effects, gore, and overall theme of Primal up until the ending, the ending was unnecessary in my opinion, it kind of reminds me of MMT but it worked there but here it just felt out of place. I do recommend it for at least a one time watch as it had a lot of promise and I loved it up until the ending.
I have seen Trick or Treat and own the dvd, it is definitely a fun horror movie, would be cool if Ozzy was in more horror movies even if just for cameos.
Definitely me too, which is your favorite story? Mine has to be Anna Paquin's story, that one scene in particular is just awesome and I wasn't expecting that part at all.
i've only seen MMT and Tales from the Hood and i absolutely loved TFTH but i only remember the ending of MMT but again i absolutely loved Tales from the Hood
I haven't seen Midnight Meat Train yet, but I think I'll trick my girlfriend into watching it, because she's in love with Bradley Cooper, lol.
Tales From The Hood is a fun one. The director, Rusty Cundieff, made another film called Fear Of A Black Hat, which is basically an early 90's gangsta rap version of This Is Spinal Tap. It's pretty funny. If you haven't seen it, I definitely recommend it.

lol you can buy Quadrophenia on amazon.co.uk for £3 new... probably cheaper to do that and buy a region 2 dvd player then buy the versions on amazon.com
Hey Jay, happy new year buddy , Quadrophenia is an amazing film, you would love it!. But $60 bucks is a good price, so not suprised you sold it...lol. I would be happy to send you a region 2 copy from UK if you want it again, i have a spare one!.. not seen midnight meat train, Arr such ashame i missed the giveaway. Awesome video as always Jay, 5*****, Your prize is on its way to you buddy..
You should have held on to that Quadrophenia DVD. Your gonna regret giving it away for $60. I saw it over 10 years ago and it was a great film then. Just depends on if you like great filmmaking or not. I had a criterion, Sid and Nancy DVD and I am still kicking myself for selling that on EBAY!!!
Hey man how was your xmas and new year?. I know your kind of picky with your movies so what horrors would you give 10/10 to, I know they'l be good if you rate them that high..
Tales From The Hood is my ALL TIME favorite horror anthology film! it's not out of print but it goes anywhere from $40-$70 so I'll just have to get the VHS from amazon which only runs from $4-$22 anyway I thought The Midnight Meat Train was decent and the twist was like WTF?! but count me in KETCHUP! lol anyway I believe we were friend's here on YouTube but all of my friend's were deleted last night somehow I assume it was a YouTube glitch =\
Hello Jay! Happy New year to you! Have seen Midnight M.T. I also think it was an atmospheric and visually treat! Something new and special about that movie. Why suddenly your t-shirt changes color from black to orange and back?? Take care!
Cool stuff. I dig Tales from the Hood. Quadrophenia is good, but 60 bucks is also nice. I sold my copy of 1984 for 120 bucks a few years back and they still haven't reprinted.
Look at you making profit! You're a player and a business man. lol Midnight Meat Train is an awesome movie. Love Vinnie Jones and wish he would get more bad ass roles. Didn't care for the other films you mentioned. May your new channel have an awesome new year!!!!
The tattoist was actually a pretty good movie because it was different and I think its cool that you gave your honest opinion and sharing your thoughts!! Taking the time to help people choose different things to try is really great of you to take the time out of your day to do for all of us. Have a great 2011 Sandie:)
Thats really cool you are gonna get big bucks for that flick! I got Storm Warning on the way man! Tales from the Hood is good fun! I liked that story on there where they try to rehabilitate the violent gangster dude. Midnight Meat Train is awesome! The CGI is iffy but its really a fun flick! Vinnie Jones does great! The end was nuts! I didnt expect that either. Great vid buddy!
Haven't seen the movie but I'd say you did the right thing selling it.. Haha. No reason besides profit. =P I've always wanted to see Tales from the Hood..8/10, Damn, I need to see that. Black to orange shirt.. trippy. CGI blood................ =] Great update! Definitely Ketchup! ! ! !
Mustard. Great pickups and great reviews. I haven't seen Tales in years. My fav is the one with David Alan Grier, because he plays such a mean bastard. Love MMT. The twist at the end is amazing. Quadro is an ok film. I think you really have to be into The Who to enjoy it. So congrats on selling it.

Cool vid. Tales from the Hood and Midnight Meat Train are really good flicks. I highly recommend checking the director's (Ryuhei Kitamura) other two flicks, Versus and Azumi. If you haven't already.
Hey, Ray, I definitely plan to actually. I remember you from a while back, you had another channel, Raydvd or dvdray or something similar right? How have you been? What happened with your old channel? Glad you're back!
@Absolutesublime1 I forgot the name of the channel, well it was shut down by youtube for breaking the rules of no nudity and copyright infringement, lol. I'll have to be careful on what i post. I'm doing pretty good, thanks. It's good to be back. Keep up the good work on the vids. Take it easy.
Hey man I got the wonder years set all episodes for Christmas from a guy who put them on 7 discs for me. It came in a case with cover art, disc art and the episodes are in good quality surprisingly. I hope one day it will be released but I heard the show isn't going to be released until the music copyright is resolved. I might put a video up showing it off.
Really really liked Midnight Meat Train! Though I agree about the CGI. Didn't really like the ending though. Also Lionsgate were assholes! Most I've ever spent on a single DVD was ether the Nightmare on Elm Street boxed set or the Friday the 13th set when they first came out. Felt like an ass when the price dropped so much so fast. Mustard!
KETCHUP FTW! Gotta love that red tomato tasting condiment. :)
It is a damn good film, but then it's still $60. So win. Besides, could you not buy another cheaper edition or is that the only region 1 edition available?
You're fantastic! Happy New Year to you as well :) any fun plans for nye?
I put you down for the drawing, good luck! I really liked the Tattooist as a concept but I felt it could have been better, it didn't live up to the potential for me, but it was still decent, just wanted a little more from it.
@Absolutesublime1 Iv not seen any new horrors in awhile, been picking up blu rays of stuff i already owned :P all i can really reccomend is th Battle Royale Blu Ray and the Grindhouse limited edition blu ray (pretty sure US already has that though)
I was really surprised when I saw Midnight Meat Train for the first time on one of the premium movie channels. I was expecting it to be garbage but came away really, really liking the movie. I particularly liked the ending I didn't see it coming and it's the kind of ending I enjoy. The movie also looked great other than CGI ketchup you mentioned in the video.
man i gotta check out the meat train one. seen that it around but didn't think it would be good.
(edit) i skipped through some of the video because i didn't want to know too much about the midnight meat train. luckily i saw that your shirt changed.
Midnight Meat Train is definitely awesome horror movie and thanks to you my Friend i'm gonna finally watch the dvd i bought couple of months ago tonight with few other horror movies =) I'm interested to see The Tattooist, but they haven't released it yet on dvd or blu-ray over here... Hope you had nice xmas & Happy New Year Jay =D
Oh, yeah! I bought "The Midnight Meat Train" this year in summer - and I really love this movie too! This movie is so creepy and bloody - and especially the final "hell scene" blows my mind away! Totally scary, a fantastic story, great actors (...Ted Rami rocks!) and bloody as hell. A fantastic choice and pickup! :-)
great reviews, I like Tales from the Hood also. I like the one w/ the dolls the best, the stop motion animation is great. But really all of the stories are pretty good in that movie. Meat Train is good, but I really need to see it again. I watched it on Netflix and honestly it's such a strange movie that I really need to see it again to absorb everything, especially the ending. Great vid as always, thumbs up.
My father sold quadrophenia for $180 to a movie collector i was amazed and did some research on it and later found out it was out of print I was amazed but thoes $180 gave us a good lunch :D
Yeah mine was brand new still sealed and the new sealed ones started at $100 and went up from there.
I just figure that most of the time people set such high prices for their oop dvd's that most of the time they either don't sell them or it takes a long time to sell them, so I just wanted to get rid of it quickly and put a price on it that I thought would sell quickly.
Im happy with my $60 but $180 wow that's crazy! I dont think I could ever buy a single dvd for that much.
I agree the acting was terrible, and there were some editing issues, but the special effects and kill scenes were probably the best I had ever seen.
This movie is recommended from a special effects and gore standpoint alone. I actually watched some of the outtakes and deleted scenes and felt if they kept some of them in it would have been a better movie, it added a comedic element and would have been great for cheese factor.
Did you see Lightning Bug? Same director but completely different type of movie, Kevin Gage is in Lightning Bug as well, and plays his role perfectly in that one. Lightning Bug is a semi auto biographical drama based on the director.
I feel MoT is a much better example of where great kills mixed with bad acting (poor Asia is a hot mess in this one!!) make for an entertaining flick.
If you like Tales from the Crypt with an urban twist then that's Tales from the Hood, it's enjoyable, the stories with Corbin Bernson and David Allan Greer are the strongest. and you're in for the drawing
I priced it to sell, I always see people listing oop dvd's for ridiculous prices and they never sell them so I decided to put at a price that I would sell it quickly.
Well I figured the movie would be great because of The Who, but I figured for $60 I might as well sell it just in case. I think you are the only person on here who has seen it, was it worth $60? or would you have kept it instead?
I've seen both Tales from the Hood and The Midnight Meat Train. I thought Tales was going to be a cheesy B horror movie, but I was blown away by how much I enjoyed it; definitely at least an 8/10 for sure.
I saw Train some while ago, and while I enjoyed it thoroughly, I remember the twist irking me to no end. I'll just have to watch it again to see if I feel the same way. It was nice to see Vinnie Jones still being a badass without being his usual English footballer typecast self.
Tales From The Hood does have it's cheese factor, but I really enjoyed it, especially the two stories with Corbin Bernson and the dolls, and David Allan Greer as the monster. Which was your favorite story?
I liked the ending personally, the creatures part really caught me off guard, and I like the last twist as well, but everyone is different and I respect that. Vinnie Jones is one bad ass mutha! I think I first saw him in Lock Stock then Snatch.
My favorite stories in Tales from the Hood were the ones about the corrupt policemen and the one about the gangbanger being reformed in A Clockwork Orange type way. Those two were the ones that stuck with me the most.
Lover, I thought I was the only one who masturbated to Midnight Meat Train!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DONT OWN IT AND I WANT TO!!!!!!!!! *wink wink. Amazing movie!! Sucks me right in. I actually remember laughing about the title and being like WTF....but I really really really enjoyed The meat train ride. KETCHUP OR MUSTARD!!!!!!... I also enjoyed your wardrobe changes. You diva you.
I put you in the drawing, and I hope you win! I'm surprised at how many people have entered so far ha, thought it was just going to be a couple people, I guess more people watch my long ass videos all the way through after all :p
Yeah the title is kinda humorous, but fitting for the movie.
You love my wardrobe changes, and my fine nails, ohhh guuurrlll
I used to watch Tales From The Hood a lot on HBO as a teen. Very awesome anthology movie. And I really liked the vengeful dead congressman vs. the dirty cops story. Very gripping stuff. The David Alan Grier story was great too.
Midnight Meat Train was just nothing short of genius. Very brutal and suspenseful throughout. Vinnie Jones was bad ass as Mahogany the butcher.
Chris, how are you my friend? Long time no talk, always good to hear from you!
Yeah I watched Tales from the Hood a lot on hbo as well, a lot of nostalgia for me so I had to pick it up.
I thought it was particularly cool to see David Alan Grier in that kind of role because he always plays the comedian role and he did a great job. I was lucky enough to see his stand up a while back and he is still hilarious!
Definitely agree about MMT and Vinnie Jones. You rock Chris!
Thanks yeah, apparently I could have gotten more for it but Id rather get rid of it quickly and not wait around. So many people list their oop dvd's for way too high and never sell them or it takes ages to sell it.
Awesome deal for $1 ! Let me know what you thought of it!
Yes! I loved Lil Penny! I wish I had one of those ha I was also a big fan of Anfernee Hardaway too , injuries plagued his career though, he made a slight come back but never the same. Grant Hill though made a heck of a come back and I think he's still playing! I miss basketball during the 90's! Those were the days!
You have some brand new amazing DVDs. I just love Tales From The Hood. Infact I just watch that today, an they I seen your review..lol that was kind cool. You have really nice amazing videos an review my friend. Glad see you enjoy movies like I do
I noticed the wardrobe change mid video, lol. Totally love Tales from the Hood. Actually ordered The Tattooist off of Amazon last week. Waiting for it to arrive. Still need to see Midnight Meat Train though.
tatooist looks cool, ill check it out, midnight meat train sucked in my opinion lol, im usually not so harsh with films but that one just pissed me off with all the damn CGI
@Absolutesublime1 DEF... Ketchup.. USe that alot more than mustard... GOt me interested in renting Tattotist... Good idea to sell.. Did you also look on amazon too?? Great update as usual. Get that 60 bucks...
Ketchup!! And I love Midnight Meat Train. I thought The Tattooist was a decent flick. I agree it had its flaws, but it was definitely worth a watch. :)
The Midnight Meat Train was good all the way up to the end. The ending messed up the whole movie

I love the Midnight Meat Train. I saw it with my ex and we both loved the cheesy scene "you know what I mean" but the ending could have been better.
MetalMulishaDGAFSRH 1 year ago

My father sold quadrophenia for $180 to a movie collector i was amazed and did some research on it and later found out it was out of print I was amazed but thoes $180 gave us a good lunch :D
bkkrazy1 1 year ago
@bkkrazy1
DAMN!

Oh and congratulations to your father for making some awesome money! ha
Can't beat making $180!

Dude, I took a cue from you on Laid to Rest, and while the kills were very impressive, the movie was nearly unwatchable. And I LOVE Kevin Gage!!.
Felt about four hours long, terribly acted, and any quirkiness intended fell wayyy flat.
What a waste of some sweet knife work!!
spooner9ball 1 year ago
@spooner9ball
Absolutesublime1 1 year ago
@spooner9ball
Did you see Lightning Bug? Same director but completely different type of movie, Kevin Gage is in Lightning Bug as well, and plays his role perfectly in that one. Lightning Bug is a semi auto biographical drama based on the director.

I still have to see Mother of Tears you recommended, will check it out soon.

I feel MoT is a much better example of where great kills mixed with bad acting (poor Asia is a hot mess in this one!!) make for an entertaining flick.
Anyways, moving on...!!

Well I figured the movie would be great because of The Who, but I figured for $60 I might as well sell it just in case. I think you are the only person on here who has seen it, was it worth $60? or would you have kept it instead?
Absolutesublime1 1 year ago
I've seen both Tales from the Hood and The Midnight Meat Train. I thought Tales was going to be a cheesy B horror movie, but I was blown away by how much I enjoyed it; definitely at least an 8/10 for sure.
I saw Train some while ago, and while I enjoyed it thoroughly, I remember the twist irking me to no end. I'll just have to watch it again to see if I feel the same way. It was nice to see Vinnie Jones still being a badass without being his usual English footballer typecast self.
beatenanddismembered 1 year ago
@beatenanddismembered
Absolutesublime1 1 year ago
@Absolutesublime1
My favorite stories in Tales from the Hood were the ones about the corrupt policemen and the one about the gangbanger being reformed in A Clockwork Orange type way. Those two were the ones that stuck with me the most.

Great vid as always Jay.
