  • Rock and Roll with horns never done? Arthur Alexander? Fats Domino? The Beatles? What a stupid interview.

  • Bunnell has hardly changed!

  • Wish bands were like this now.

  • Just to confirm the founders of America have American fathers and British mothers. Their Dad's were in the US Military. In fact, Gerry Beckley's father was the Commanding Officer of Ruislip Air Force base near London.

  • @libville Sure: Gerry's dad was Dewey's dad's boss, actually. Dan Peek (R.I.P.) had come to London earlier.

All of them had American fathers and English mothers and probably kept their double citizenship (Dewey ws born in Yorkshire), although they all have an American accent, having been brought up in Americanised environments even in London. I can still hear some British sounds in their accent, especially Gerry's.

  • The 70's and 80's were an amazing time in America. Everything was great, especially the music! You can't get all hung up on stuff like the economy or unemployment. Those things rise and fall like the winter wheat, but these names will never die, "Chicago, America, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Sweet, Three Dog Night...."

  • i'll stick to the 1970s and the 1980s. those were the fun times. best of times in everything. when people can just go on without cell phones, facebook, emailing all that stuff. i prefer going out and meeting people. modern tech has taken over human beings as oppossed to just sitting in the grass and playing an acoustic guitar. OBNOXIOUS

  • @PEDROCLASSIC The 80's were "the best of times"? Wtf?!? What planet were you on then? In the U.S. the unemployment was through the roof, and there was a recession then, too (thanks Ronnie). Not to mention the oppressive conservatism, phlegMTV, "war" in the Middle East (Thx GB), and music that was overwhelmingly horrid and still is mocked to this day. and as for "going out & meeting people" or sitting in the grass with a guitar goes, those things still happen ALL THE TIME.

  • it's good to see them both here though minus one member, DAN PEEK. i was born in 1974 in the philippines. my uncle was in the army at that time. growing up in the 80s i discovered music. america, seals and crofts, boston, eagles, doobies, leif garret, beegees, carpenters,mamas/ papas.one day he was on leave he brought deep purple and sabbath records and the one that went up to the roof, led zeppelin IV.Boy that record changed my life. thanks to my uncle

  • @PEDROCLASSIC Add The Association to that mix of great groups.

  • America: English guys (they were raised in London) wi' American accents (Beckley's a bit Brit, though). Wow!!!

  • Pankow displays the broadest Chicagoan accent!!!!!! "A rack'n roll beeeeeeeand"!!! Wow!!!

  • All of America are talented songwriters, but Gerry Beckley is my favourite. He has influenced me in my own songwriting a lot.

  • chicago and america kick major ass!

  • She kept cutting them off. Chicago and America are two of my favorite bands. Awesome!

  • Marvelous! LOVE America! LOVE Chicago! Both OUTSTANDING bands! Why no Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for either of them?

  • *snorts* Gerry: "It wasn't really until then we exactly got to see how old you guys are" Dewey: "Oooooh!"

They are too cute, love me some Gerry and Dewey!

  • hahahahahhahahahaha, my english still sucks, and I've been slow to understand it, but... that was so funny!!!!!!!

Gerry is my favourite, and I luv America!!!!

    Chicago still rulez!!!!!
