Everyone who has the problem becoming a server and ur friends cant join,go to control panel and go to network sharing and change the network of the hamachi which is network 2,it has public network,change it to home network and done! u friends can now join ur server and have fun on a game that u and ur friends want to play.

How do saves work? I know save states don't work too well, so how would we continue from a save after we get done gaming for the day? When I restart ZSnes, and my friend gets on, it's like the save never existed.

1.Use a save state

2. Save within the game (like pausing the actual game and saving)

Also, save states don't work, it freezes Zsnes on netplay. Saving in the game works until we restart Zsnes, then the save disappears.

Yes, I have been trying to get it work as well. I checked around and it would appear that netplay in code is one heck of a mess so around 1.40 they stopped supporting it, thus the no click option.

I have been trying to find 1.42 which by rumor supports netplay.

Me and my friend are trying to play Contra III, and we're both using 1.42.

I set up the server, and he puts in the IP address found in the Your IP section from MY computer. But when he connects, it doesn't work. He can't connect, and I've tried my IPv4 address and my External IP address.

BTW you can probably use Hamachi to bypass the hassle and risk of port forwarding

You need ZSNES version 1.42 in order to use netplay. They dropped the netplay feature in all newer versions.

Seriously, DO NOT disable your firewall. Port forwarding is like networking 101, it's something everyone should learn how to do if they play online games.

So many freaking problems with online play could be solved if people would seriously take the 2 seconds to learn how to do it....it is retarded easy and takes like 2 seconds. You don't even need to be hard wired in...

Yes, apparently it only doesn't work when I'm using my notebook's wireless. When I tried with my desk computer it worked fine, so I guess the router is the problem. Sux =(

It should work fine if the host isn't behind a router or, if he has, he knows how to get around it. I got it to work today with a friend that doesn't have a router hosting the match, and we both unchecked the "use UDP instead of TCP" box. Try doing this when you get the chance. In the worst case you should get some lag, but most of the time it works just fine.
