Castleford explosion - caused by cable theft

This was a gas explosion apparently anyway I would suggest the explosion is cause by the wind which close the door. Either because this causes a spark (metal door latch slammed into it's socket) or perhaps it changes the mixture of gas to oxygen making it explosive or shifting gas to an area

that is not a backdraft, its probably a gas explosion, a backdraft happens when all the available oxygen has been consumed, then more oxygen is made available, eg when you open a door or a window breaks, the doors and windows were already open. its not a flashover either.

@tompenno physics. Air pressure inside the house built up as the explosion occurred - door open inwards, acts like a sail and catches the expanding air and slams shit. Followed immediately by the visual flame which you wouldn't have seen initially as it's deep inside the house.

@tompenno Because of the shockwave from the explosion. The door slamed just before the explosion because the explosion was "deeper" in the house. So Explosion-->Shockwave slam the door-->Explosion gets out of the house

@tompenno the explosive gas that was leaking combusted. The pressure forced the door closed since it was where the gas was rushing through. When the door closed there was nowhere to alleviate the combustion and so as you can see, when the door closed, the gas ignited and exploded.

@tompenno Not a physicist, but there would've been a vast increase in pressure inside the house, causing the door to shut. Also, flames aren't the only part of an explosion. Watch mining explosions in slowmo and you'll see what I mean.
