This is one of the better color prints on Youtube, but this trailer wouldn't have made me want to see the movie. they should have spent more time on the arguments betwen the charachters.
@etrax2000 Well, trailers back then were pretty much after thoughts. Editors just kinda threw them together. Also, you could get away with being more vague since people would often decide to see a movie simply because it was a "William Holden movie" or because it was a romance. Since movies were cheaper and many people made a real habit of going to the movies, you didn't have to "sell" them as much as you do now. It also made a difference that not as much rode on 1 film's success as it does now.
@xHeavyMetalPapillonx That is certainly true, and when you compare how they market today's films or should I call them "Products", by the time you've seen the previews on television, clips from Entertainment tonight, behind the scenes filming and the comercials, when you finally do get to see the "product',usually on HBO in about 8 months, you come to realize that you have seen the entire film already, every scene has already been televised.
This movie and "Splendor in the Grass" are my favorite love stories.

@xHeavyMetalPapillonx Oh, and by cheaper, I meant that movie tickets were cheaper, not the movies themselves. (Though that was mostly true too.)
