It's peculiar that I only seem to come across music as delicate as this late at night.
This song is so beautiful but is even more mesmerising when paired with Melanie Moore's solo audition. I think everyone who hasn't seen it already should visit it. Absolutely breathtaking.
I went out in my local area to go and look for some new places to do Photography, and I thought to myself.. "I need to think out of the box and go somewhere really out of the open". I went behind a huge retail park, climbed over a few fences, went past a few warning signs, went through a few bushes, and I saw one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. A lake, surrounded by tall pine trees, with nobody but me there. The only thing I could hear in my head was this song, quietly playing.

I disliked this vid, not because it sounded bad, but because it's the most easily composable thing ever. If you're experienced enough in piano music and such like you can churn out 12 of these in a day, because it just repeats: a minor, f major, g major, e minor- you could play any sort of melody in that order and it'll sound nice...the accompaniment is all thirds with one slight dissonant part. Anyone with a bit of experience can improvise way better; Desplat shouldn't get money for this.
@ceryseira It just doesn't have really musical merit . It is nowhere near musical genius, and there's a lot of beautiful genius type music out there (i.e. the classical masters). It's just yet another exploitation of the similar chord progression that all these types of pieces have. Just today I sat at my piano and did a similar piece to this in 3 different keys without thinking. It's just frustrating to see so many pieces like this being more popular than truly genius works.
@zorbeypiano Okay I can see where you're coming from, although I do think it suits the movie scene well and quite like the piece myself even if it isn't hard to compose. Maybe that's why they've become popular... But then again, I don't play the piano professionaly, and I don't take/ haven't taken lessons. I just play my keyboard - and sometimes my grandma's piano - for fun... :)
@ceryseira Gluck's Melody (have a listen!): now that is absolutely beautiful but has a lot more merit than this chord progression. And it has about 3/800th the views of this piece. That's very saddening. Also, you can sight read The Meadow. By which I mean if someone ever plays this piece for you/in a performance don't think they're the most talented musician out there, they've just bothered to learn how to read music and sit at a piano for at most a week.

I see sad faces yearning for solace and children hugging their parents. I see warm red sunsets that bring tears to my eyes and hear the earth whispering low in my ears. I see mother growing old and realise that I never knew her, and I want to. I see my son, but only in my dreams and I reach out to give him my love, but someone turns him away. I know I feel all this.

I disliked this vid, not because it sounded bad, but because it's the most easily composable thing ever. If you're experienced enough in piano music and such like you can churn out 12 of these in a day, because it just repeats: a minor, f major, g major, e minor- you could play any sort of melody in that order and it'll sound nice...the accompaniment is all thirds with one slight dissonant part. Anyone with a bit of experience can improvise way better; Desplat shouldn't get money for this.

@ceryseira It just doesn't have really musical merit . It is nowhere near musical genius, and there's a lot of beautiful genius type music out there (i.e. the classical masters). It's just yet another exploitation of the similar chord progression that all these types of pieces have. Just today I sat at my piano and did a similar piece to this in 3 different keys without thinking. It's just frustrating to see so many pieces like this being more popular than truly genius works.

@zorbeypiano Okay I can see where you're coming from, although I do think it suits the movie scene well and quite like the piece myself even if it isn't hard to compose. Maybe that's why they've become popular... But then again, I don't play the piano professionaly, and I don't take/ haven't taken lessons. I just play my keyboard - and sometimes my grandma's piano - for fun... :)

@ceryseira Gluck's Melody (have a listen!): now that is absolutely beautiful but has a lot more merit than this chord progression. And it has about 3/800th the views of this piece. That's very saddening. Also, you can sight read The Meadow. By which I mean if someone ever plays this piece for you/in a performance don't think they're the most talented musician out there, they've just bothered to learn how to read music and sit at a piano for at most a week.

Well, disliking and liking videos actually helps to improve those suggestions and what they suggest to the person viewing them. It also helps improve the whole youtube experience, so yes. there is a reason to dislike it.

@RainbowGateaux Uh, no. Yes, people judge this music and dislike it because it is associated with Twilight. However, it's not because they are "against" vampires. It's because Stephenie Meyer is one of the worst writers in the history of fiction. Her grammar, spelling, character development etc. are dreadful and she is an embarrassment to people with English degrees. You can like the story, fine, but don't tell me that the books are good. They are poorly written garbage.

@margaritanoir Usually,because sheet music isn't available openely anymore bc of copyright, what I do is try watch other videos and see their fingerings or go to the artist's website(if they have one). HOPE IT HELPS=]=]!!

@hoshiyokaulitz at my first comment I said that I loved the song but it was weird hearing since it has been a while then i said it was better then Jacob's theme on the Eclipse sound track. I said I was Jacward meaning I love both Ed and Jake. But Renesmee is Edward's daughter so I said it would be weird if he was my dad. On the eclipse soundtrack I mean. For Jacob's theme... Team Jacward... Gotta love them both to be like Bella... Really it's team Renesmee... If you haven't read Breaking Dawn then you don't know who she is, spoiler alert!!! Edward is her father and Jacob is her True love... She loves them both!! But it would be creepy having Edward as my Dada and Bella as my Mama knowing that my Mama kissed my future boyfriend before I was born and he and my Dad fought over her... AWKWARD!

I love this song, it feels so weird hearing it now since New Moon was such a long time ago... But it is still beautiful. It's like there is no reason to hear it anymore but you still want... I like it just as much as Jacob's theme!
