My question is, since there is a Ron Asheton signiture model, does that model produce the sounds of the guitar of the the first two Stooges albums?

Yes. The Ron Asheton Signature model will produce the early Stooges sound. That's what Ron wanted. Iggy was adamant about Ron using a three single coil guitar to record/tour with.

They have PAF style Humbuckers so more vintage.. I would suggest good for Blues and Classic/Hard Rock.

But with the right Amp everything is possible ...

this thing could definitely pull off metal with those thick humbuckers. Then it's just a matter of getting good gain, which a good amp and/or pedal can easily do, no matter what kind of guitar or pickups you have (except maybe a full hollowbody, because they feed back at high gain). I'd get the volcano myself if I wasn't broke.

Yeah! That's the wonder of the Bass Contour knob (3rd one). Roll it down and you can get some thin sounds suitable for rhythmic stuff like ska and funk!
