Train Simulator VS Rail Simulator

i have no idea what i should get. I know that MSTS is a old game but has a bunch of addons and Railworks is a very detailed game but has less addons and mostly payware.

I like Rail Simulator (I have Railworks) becuase trains and terrain is nice, but MSTS has A BUNCH of different trains that Rail Simulator and Railworks doesn't have. Both have a good and bad.

MSTS 2 would have been far better. But sadly it was abandoned. I really like MSTS but it's a little to old and the cab view isn't 3d with a 360 degree view. Railworks 3: Train Simulator 2012 is the best. Tranz Simulator 12 isn't to bad ether, but it doesn't really have a Doppler effect like MSTS or Railworks. :P

RS is much more better than MSTS. RS is good in locomotives but MSTS puts some weird 3D stuff.

En otra versión railworks ya están incorporadas muchas cosas así como el uso de campana, silbatos, luces, acoplamientos, variedad en equipo rodante así como en locomotoras de varios continentes,, hay que resaltar los graficos y realismo, no solo en las locomotoras, si no también en la via, no se si han notado los cambios, y las texturas de las diferentes pistas que hay, también el objetos de escenario.

rail simulator es mejor y con cada nueva versión mejoran muchos aspectos, en mi opinión tiene mejor realismo en lo gráfico y en lo físico en la forma de conducción,

Railsimulator > MSTS

I have both and uninstalled MSTS simply due to being unable to put up with the graphics after playing RS.

Also I would like to point out you didn't actually couple with the RS clip in this video, you just kind of rammed them. Coupleing is far better on RS than MSTS.

but then kuju was like halfway through the makeing "screw you MS your ruining our game" and deligated. then went off to EA and went "hiya publish our game plox" and their like "why sure if you put our logo all over the box and maual"

Rail simulator would be a lot better if there was a way to import and convert MSTS routes. And make it more user friendly, I cannot make heads or tails out of the editor....

the results depend. If you compare RS to bare bone MSTS, yeah RS is better. But MSTS with all the add ons is MUCH BETTER.

I agree with NSguy07 on this one. I have both simulators and while yes RS has better graphics MSTS is more customizable that RS. It depend on if you want better graphics or more customization.

i dont really agree, with RS once you get your head around the fiddly controls you can make some pretty good routes

but MSTS (editor) is 100% un-user freindly, no online guide has ever helped me do anything custom in MSTS

but i do agree MSTS is more customiseable, its just alot harder to make custom routes.

Rail Simulator is way better than msts. BUT msts is 100000x customizable than RS.

i have rail simulator i like the grafics and all but..american trains dont have the option to put on the bell in that simulator and there arent too much options actually i would like to get MSTS since there are more trains to download for it so my coment is that rail simulator is good for people that cares about grafics more than the gameplay and msts is for people that want a realistic train operating experience!

el rail parece bastante mejor, pero yo lo compre por 50 € y no me iva en el PC, el MSTS me lo compre por 5 y si que va perfectamente xD

It's unfair to compare the two, I think Rail Simulator is much more realistic and beautuful. But, new games are supposed to be better than the old one, and as MSTS is much older, of course it has a worse graphic.

I vote for RS because it's soo realistic and i most loved it when ive upgrade it with MK1 & MK2 and istalled the Expansion of Canon Pass and the Class 8 ......

It's obviuos that RS is better because is newer......but it missed the real point of simulation....the activity and the complexity of the real train world....

so..the most important thing of simulator is not the graphic quality but the customizeability and the capacity to create all the unespected situation wich happen in the real world like failure...

i think RS is MSTS2, i think what happened is kuju told MS to get f'ed and made their own game.

kuju made both why the arguments when msts came out it was very poor but when the addons came it worked ok. I for one feel that it is a great addition microsoft dumped the msts 2 so kuju is still making the game but in my mind alot better than microsoft idea kuju is the writer of both

Just because it has better graphics doesn't mean its better! For example, BVE is better for driving than all the simulators out there. MSTS has better physics than RS ATM.

class its not the graphics, the cusom routes are better too, i think RS is what kuju wanted MSTS to be, but MS went "oh no you dont! we want it to be like this and this and this and inpossibly hard to customise"
