at around 6:51, how big was the finished image file? I'm trying to backup a 151gb partition which has a windows installation of 37gb, the last time I tried to backup (onto the same partition) it said there wasn't enough space, I assumed I would only need around 37gb because that's the size of the windows installation. Does backup the whole partition?
if you are restoring an image of an entire disk to another new disk, there should not be issue. Restoring writes all information including ntfs information. Are you having any issues? You might want to go to clonezilla support for quicker support and resolution
Can someone tell me how to restore an image to a brand new hard drive that is not formatted? Is there a way to create partitions and format to NTFS within Clonezilla? Also do you need to mark the partition where the image is being restored to as as "active" after restoring? Please let me know! Thanks!
This is the video I always come back to when I use clonezilla, since I only use it about once a year I seem to need a refresher and this video is the best. Thank you namvijay, great work.

Any Idea? TQ.
@c1cter if you need to burn to CD, download the iso file.
On the download page click Download stable releases, then click on the 1.2.6-40. You should probably download the iso file that ends with "-i686.iso".
@z9w2zbd do you mean the target disk already contains data?
If you are using disk to disk cloning, the target disks data will be erased. If you use disk to image option, there will be a file created in your target disk. All data in the target disk will remain intact
When you are cloning let it split to manageable chunks. Look for the option to split file and let it split to an amount smaller than a CD/DVD size.
You cant burn directly to CD from clonezilla itself. You will still need another drive to keep the contents. After which you burn the chunks into CD/DVD.
Can I use CloneZilla to clone my Win XP Pro HD in my ThinkPad T23, then restore that Image to my BootCamp partition on my MacBook?

@rhccat2 practically the same thing. You can use the disk to disk or disk to image method.

@maxchock what are exactly trying to do? Were you trying to clone your existing virtual drive?
You might be better off asking in tech forums as I am not sure what the error exactly means. Sorry

HELP.
I am running RAID10 on a Promise EX8300 RAID Card
I want to swap between two different images:
= Windows XP 32bit;
= Windows 7 64bit;
And change between them regularly.
Any ideas which cloning software will let me do that?
FYI: I also know about and run virtuals - but I need to change my native OS.
I would be grateful to anyone who ACTUALLY knows
Cheers
