Thanks so much for the video! it's makes everything so clear! I have exactly the same diana And an fuji instax mini camera so I don't need the instant back but I really wanted to know this!
Thank you for this video! I'm considering getting a Diana and can't decide on getting either the 35 mm back or the instant..I can't afford both at the moment aha what would you reccommend for a first timer?(:
Hii!! thanks for explaining that . I'd love to buy it but I think I'll do it much more later.. . I've just got the Diana F+ cmyk Deluxe Kit.. and I want to learn more because i'm a begginner :)
If you want to take pinhole pictures set the shutter speed to b and then take a pictures for at least a couple of seconds up to minutes depending on the light situation.
If you want to use the diana flash put a paper tissue in front of the flash and use it as a diffusor.
Oh and as far as taking it out into the world... I find it a bit cumbersom and would prefer the Fuji Mini Poloroid instead. That being said I do go out w my Blackbird Fly so who knows. I have 2 fisheye
Yay You! The Instaback was a recent bday gift adding to my collection if Lomo love. I experienced the same frustrations as u dis locating info until I found you... Thanks to u my 9th shot worked!
hi, please answer this... i'm thinking of buying one of these cameras from urban outfitters but i'm so confused.. yours is instant back and it looks the exact same as the one on urban outfitters but the one on there doesn't say in the description that it is instant back?? is yours a special type? also do i have to buy the film on urban outfitters if i just have a normal non instant back one, or can i buy it from normal shops? thaaaanks xxxxx
Thx for all the tips & advices! really usefull.. I have heard a lot of bad comments about the instant back, but now I know why... it's because they don't know how to use it! maybe someday i'll buy one
turn on the flash, use the n setting, and only use bulb at night or with a seprate non synced flash (oldschool flash method) or when shooting pinhole with a calculated exposure of over 1 sec.

thank you for the review! and can the mini instax film use on the diana F+? or is the other size of film? it does looks like the same size to me?thank you really!xx
That was a really well done demonstration! I think for anyone who needs help with n and b shutter speeds and the aperture, it helps to know that the n speed should work in the daytime with the right aperture set (cloudy, sunny and the one in between), or with flash indoors and then the aperture depends on the iso of your film (instax mini is 800) so I would say the sunny or in between setting, which let the least light in, would work best. If you were using 100 iso film the cloudy (or brightest

hi i just bought a Diana f instant back, all the photos i take are really blurry and out of focus and i watched your video and its not helping your photos are really clear and in focus can you help me ?
Hello, I know with normal film in the diana F+ you need to put it on the N setting or else it will be blury. you said for the instant back to put the settings to B not N, but is that just because you have it on a tripod? do you still use the B setting when you holding it and walking around etc?
@RachelSchneida I will send the link to paper in your inbox.
The camera does not come with film and neither does the Instant Back. You have to buy it all separate. Also, as far as I know, major retail stores such as Wal-mart or any drug stores do not carry the film. However, Urban Outfitters does carry Instax film for a very high price. (I think it is about $5-6 more than online).
I hope I answered your questions well enough! Let me know if you have any more!
@bobhafis Yes, you absolutely can! All you have to do is push the shutter twice :)
Just make sure that you take your initial picture of something darker than the second exposure, otherwise you wont be able to tell it was a double image
Hi I manage to get nice photo. Thank you for your advise. It was really fun shooting photo on Chinese New Year using Instant Back. I has another question? I am not sure on my view finder the object in in center. But my photo turn out very right side. Some of my cousin face was cut off. How do I really make sure is in the center? Although I really wasted quite a bit. Heee
Hi I got an instant back 2 week ago. Has trying to tale picture with it. If I don't on the flash the picture will be in black. But times when I on the flash I look very fair. Do you know what should I do? Can I use diana instant back without flash?
@fifnethefish you can use it without the flash just as long as you have the bulb setting on and you hold down on the shutter for a few seconds. It will take a bit of practice, but you should be able to get really nice pictures after you get it down :)
Oh, also! LOL, in my reading regarding the people who are afraid to carry the camera around and accidentally taking a picture. I'm not sure if this is true, but I've read that as long as the lense cap is on your film will not be exposed, and that makes sense, because no light would get in. So as long as you have your lense cap you could carry this with you.
Hey, it's me again. I get my camera tomorrow and the instant back; it just arrived where I live and will be delivered tomorrow! I'm so excited that I've already started buying film. LOL.
I was just wondering what kind of other instant film you use because I'm having a hard time finding the Fuji Instanx film, but there is the Polaroid 300 Instant Mini film around here, only the demensions are off like, .2 cms. IDK if that will matter too much, but it does make me nervous.
Awesome review, thanks! I'm thinking of buying a Diana F+ with an instant back, but I have some questions about the chemicals and toxicity, since I have a really bad phobia for chemicals and stuff... so what I wonder is, is it "dangerous" and can you get chemical burns from touching the photo when it's processing/after it's processed? I'm not asking you to like try and see what happens, just wondering if it says so on the instant film-package or something? Thanks!
Thank you so much for your review! I'm planning on getting the Diana Deluxe Kit with an Instant back so that I can practice techniques and see the results right away. I'm glad you showed how to use it.
Very informative and good video. I have one, absolutely love it, but like you, hate the black edges before a black photo appears! It's quite hit and miss in different light situations but I love finding it out.
i meant a DSLR is a much cheaper option to do a 365day project. cuz you've got a 4gb SD card that hold 800+ photos instead of buying new instant film like every 10days.
may i know if we can do a overlapping of photos using the diana? and is there a similar one for holgas? because i only saw the one that is not automatic and requires the polaroid film which is really troublesome...
If you use the N setting, you dont have to hold the shutter anymore. Why? If you try opening your diana's back and you try pressing the shutter, it closes automatically no matter how long you press the shutter. Unless you use the B setting, you dont have to hold it on N setting.
You are awesome. Love the video :). I was thinking of getting the Diana F+ and the Instant back for my dad who loves polaroids (but he already has a polaroid camera). Hi(:
Please answer this;
Okay so I wanna get the Diana F+ Mr. pink.
So I have some questions
1, can you send me the link to the photo paper on the website?
2 do the cameras come with film inside? And is there a link where to buy more film?
3 can you buy the paper or film at a drugstore or Walmart or anything?
Please replyy-3 thanks!

But with the Diana F+ Instant Back, it's possible to take pictures with a 120mm film, or you can only take pictures with the instant back?

A fewwww questions.
How much is this?
Do you have to pay extra for the paper?
Can the film still be developed when it's finished even while using the back at the same time?
