Television was still in an "experimental" stage at the time this was filmed, with about a dozen stations on the air between New York and Los Angeles, telecasting only a few hours a day; for example, W2XBS, NBC's New York station, was on the air for about two hours almost every day [one in the afternoon, one at night]. The following year, it became WNBT (now WNBC), one of the first commercial TV stations, but curtailed by World War II.
Fascinating film. I wished I saw it as a kid. It reveals how stuffed radio was as a career. Something I found out the hard way 30 years after this film was made.
Sorry , he was not the inventor of electronic television. Hungarian Kálmán Tihanyi invented the electronic tv in 1926. UNESCO MEMORY OF THE WORLD Check it!
Only men can attain advanced positions due to the fact that women are borderline stupid.....

Well it is a film intended to show career paths, not an entertainment film. It does this job well.

Amazing to see an airport tower pre-radar set up.

I love how the narrator is so straight-up in his explanations.
He makes it clear many times, that radio work is not for everyone.
Not like today, where they would have you believe that any moron could handle it.
