miles said, he said coltrane was a greedy motherfucker, because he wouldn't share a big bottle of heroin with miles..lol..but most genius's are greedy..
Incredible. To think that the greatest jazz legend of all time still wasn't satisfied. He still had things to try, things to discover. Imagine what we could have learned from him had he not left us so young.
To think that the greatest jazz legend of all time had so many things he felt he couldn't do yet and so many things he still hoped to try and explore. I can't imagine the things we could have heard from him had he not left us at such a young age.
Fantastic spine tingling live interview with Coltrane. Wow. Thanks. Celebrating the life of the master today.

Does anyone know the name of the song playing in the background of this interview? I've been trying to find it for some time. Thanks.

It's "Tunji" from "Coltrane" (1962), recorded 2 years after the interview. Great record!

I've revered Coltrane for years, but this is the first time I have heard his voice, outside of "A Love Supreme." Sounds like he was a humble soul.

He sounds exactly like I thought he would. Too bad the questions were so banal (not merely abrupt). Thank You. L
