  • 7mm rem mags 50th birthday this year

  • Loved shooting the 7mm. Haven't bought ammo for over 2 years because of ridiculous prices though

  • My Winchester 7mm Rem mag is responsible for multiple 250 plus yrd deer and coyote kills.

  • I have a Rem700 also but in the 7RUM and its really a super Rifle !

  • @husomanul No,try A .577

  • Larry,

I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for your supprt of the Mule Deer Foundation. As someone who grew-up with dreams of big mulies, I really appreciate it! By the way, nice elk at 1:06.

  • How does this round perform compared to .30-06? How is it different?

  • I love my Remington 700 7mm mag! I use Hornady superformance SST in 162gr.

  • BG song?

  • @Husomanul That is not it's intend use. However you can get 7mm solids in 175 grain, W.M.D. Bell used the 7x57 mauser (275 Rigby) to kill many elements using kynoch solids 175 grain, using the same bullet the Remington magnum be more powerful. That was back in the ivory hunting days, the legal minimum in Africa countries is either 9.3x64mm brenneke (sometimes 9.3x62 masuser) or 375 H&H.

  • That deer had a...

    ...nice rack.

    YEAAAHHHHH

  • @Husomanul i wouldnt want to try to kill one with a 7mm mag. its just meant for north american game lol

  • I have a .35 Marlin my uncle gave me, he killed Moose, Caribou, Deer and a pile of Bears, when he was alive and living in Canada.

For years I have done the same, I use it for Bears and Deer only.

My 03A3 SPRINGFIELD talks for me..its a realy good Elk rifle.

  • with that rifle any deer within 500 yards if so fucked lol.

  • Midway, What is the difference between 300 win mag and 7mm mag? Which has more range, power, accuracy etc?

  • @longdongkong1

i own both and the 300 has more power and is avail. in heavier bullets.. the 7mm might be flatter in a lighter bullet. someone correct me if im wrong.. but both great calibers for most north american game

  • @wrxroket are these good for moose? the 7mm mag?

  • @yabodmon My understanding, and this is based on people who I know who have hunted moose with the 7 Mag, is that it will kill a moose cleanly when used with at least a 160 grain high quality bullet such as a Nosler Partition.

  • @nmelkhunter1 thanks man , im looking to buy the 7mm ultra mag and the level two compares with this cartridge. im new to the sport.

  • @yabodmon No problem. My on game experience with the 7 Mag is Pronghorn, Mulies and Elk, including a one shot kill on a decent bull at 325 yards with a 160 grain Nosler Partition. He died after walking about 30 yards from a shot in the lungs.

  • @yabodmon yes lots of my hunting partners shot moose with the 7mm at long range in the neck

  • @yabodmon you know i would think that it would do the job.. but at that point its all about shot placement..

  • @yabodmon you know i would think that it would do the job.. but at that point its all about shot placement..

  • @wrxroket i highly doubt u could kill an elephant not shooting it in the eye with a .22 lr

  • @dog33100

how does a 22 lr and elephant come into the picture when we are talking about 7mm and moose...

  • @wrxroket to prove that its not always about shot placement you still gotta have a little power

  • @dog33100 Did u hear bout the guy that meant to scare 2 elephants away from his property with a little 22 lr, and accidentally killed them both with one shot each.

  • @yabodmon you know i would think that it would do the job.. but at that point its all about shot placement..

  • I have a savage seven mag I have taken antelope to elk with mine. I have not had to do any trailing it is the most accurate rifle i own. it will out shoot other guns costing thousands more. It my "go to" rifle the rest of my guns are backup rifles..

  • I love my 7mag and doubt I would ever change to another caliber for the open fields

my Daughters love it and made me promiss to pass it down to them when I die.

I have used it for Elk, Moose. Deer but for deer it will just about gut it, you will have a exit size the size of abase ball.

  • I'd like to see the .303 British on this list someday.

  • does the 7mm remington mag shoot flatter than 300 win mag but i heard you dont have a lot of ammo choices also does it eat you barrel up?

  • @jigglejack100 Flat, is of course, a relative concept. In comparative bullet weights, they are very close in ballistic abilities. As far as barrel life, I really don't think there would be a big difference between a 7 mag and, say, a 30.06 since they are similar in ballistics.

  • Great one cartridge caliber. I have shot everything from an antelope to a bull elk with this caliber using a 160 nosler partition with one shot at distances beyond 250 yards and they have all died quickly. In other words they traveled less than 50 yards. I think you can't go wrong with this caliber.

  • I'll take a 300 or 338 Winmag anyday! Sorry...

  • I like my 700 in 7mm alot better than in 30-06

  • @colmon9 try a weatherby vangaurd 7mm mag the action is smoother

  • By far one of the best all around North American hunting round, Thats just my opinion.

  • I have the Savage 111 in 7mm rem mag. Its one flat shooting, sweet round!

    Ω

  • several of my cousins shoot that round.
