Never thought I would try a magnetic loop but by using my Flex 5000A transceiver, my first experiment worked well using it for reception and transmitting using a 43 foot vertical. Amazing not to have all that noise as with a regular antenna. Thanks for telling us about your loop which works well.

One rule for sub 1/3 wave mag loops: Aperture!
I have made three. Love them because the reception is so clean!

How much power are you putting into the loop? Have you tried any other modes?

@mrdinx 10w AM. Have used it with 5w SSB - best distance about 400km on 160m. It's more efficient on higher frequency bands.
