hello im tom and im 8 and i want 2 no how 2 breathe in without making a loud noise. if u want look at some of videos of me playing please do, and could you subscribe please thankyou
@mybrothersmells In Irish folk music, breathing sounds do not matter.
Also, how loud your breathing sounds while recording depends on your microphone; some micrphones like picking up noises like breathing sounds very well, thus making such sounds more clear and louder. It might not be you; rather it is the microphone that is causing the trouble.
The echoing, or reverb, is probably post-edited using a computer program. It's to make it sound like you're in a large, open room.
You can use many programs to simulate the effect, I use Fruityloops. You have to pay for that but a program called Audacity can do it as well! It's free, so check it out. =)
Thankyou you are real joy to listen to, my husband & 5yr old son is listening & learning from your utube videos they are truley wonderful so Thankyou. From the Bonner family!!
I find ur whistle playin fantastic. I need help trying to play morrisons i cant get any sort of rythm to it or even the same type of sound you get. How would I get more rythm with it and would I get a better whistle make a difference?
actually i have a small problem with the silver spear. i just can't get it up to tempo, do you have any tips? because when i listen to this version( the one i'm learning week 8) it really goes fast :o
I've watched a bunch of your videos, you're just so good at it! Thank you for posting them. I've seen you play at least 4 different whistles. It would be cool if you tagged your clips w/the whistle that you're playing.
I love the silver spear! it's a favorite at our session...I like the slides you put in some of the parts...I'll have to keep that in mind next time I play it...haha..
It's an Eb whistle, right?
Cheers, fantastic ;)!

I don't like the added echo.

is the echo sound because of the video or is it a special type of whistle?and if it is,what type of whistle makes an echo?:)

Hi, I think it is a 'video effect' in the final edit. Or should I say 'Audio effect'. I love this reel.

That fake echo effect always sounds cheesy

no it sounds cool.

I dunno, the fake echo sounds like a real echo to me. I play in the stairwell of one of my school buildings and that's what it sounds like.
HelioIgnus 4 years ago
i think it is a Mac Nic tin whistle, this one makes naturally an echo sound
