Emitai proves to be a pretty epic master when ryu's older, there's nothing more orgasmic than hearing Older Ryu shout the spell for 'Enlighten'..... *jizzes pants*
It's funny how many people are ragging on Nina in the comments when she's the most overpowered toon in the game. She easily cheeses the game, just get magic order and you can get like 12 fish-heads in like 7 battles (3 minutes or less) from the faeries (no other stat boost you can do this with).
Next thing you know you have a toon that can wipe out an entire dungeon with a one spell faster than any other character and do heavy damage on bosses especially when they're weak against an element.
Anyway I don't know what all the magic ball talk is about, it's impossible to get that this early in the game as you cannot even mentor Nina yet cuz you cannot get back to Mygas let alone Wyndia till after you get Garr and face Balio & Sunder one last time.
Unless you leveled Teepo to like lvl 15 or some shit and had him drop the skill lol. That would be alot of painful grinding though.
Actually, if you do the "Kill Ryu every battle so as to keep him at level 1 until after the nue storyline," You can have magic ball aswell as all of Mygas's spells and skills learned before being able to train under Bunyan.
Oooh...interesting so that's how. That wouldn't be useful for just lame magic ball but to instantly have Nina with Meditation and Typhoon would be fab!
Magic Balls are indeed powerful and I do agree that the skill is best for Nina around this early game time. I figure that I'd also give Typhoon to her for awhile as well, a couple wisdom rings if they are available, she'd become a powerful magician early in the game since each wisdom Ring gives either 20 or 30 Intelligence (forgets).
If you level up Nina and put her under Mygas or Emitai later. Use fish-heads as much as possible on her, her magic does some pretty nasty damage, and that is very useful when you're facing an opponent with a lot of armour.
Of course, Emitai is keeping them in line without "using magic." If he goes down then they attack each other. I used that tactic and sat back while they drained each others health for me as I used attacks that would hit all... such as attack items and Dragon Breath.
It's a poofy european middle ages dress so to speak. She may appear plump but after all, she is a child wearing a dress. The thing that I find ridiculous is that she never changes outfits until she grows out of them, must be Nina's lack of style or her parents only have the same outfit made 10 times over. Selection is dreary.

And is it just me or are the Golem's defences pretty low? The physical attacks seem to do quite a lot of damage compared to Gisshan et al in Mt Zublo...and that's later in the game...
The level is unknown as the info wasn't included, I however once I get around to playing this game, will show relevant information in each video. I remember doing this battle at a generally low level.
It's so obvious that Emitai is cheating, He apparently is influencing them somehow to the point that without his presence they'll go berserk on each other, I think Spirit Blast a a great move that'll come in handy against the lavaman monsters later.
If this was football, Ryu and friends goota blitz him!

Perhaps when I make Breath of Fire 6 (illegally), I'll hire you as a "story quality person" to make sure everything is logical.

u no that the Magic Ball Skill u learn from Magus doesnt count as magic. that would be pretty handy for Nina in this fight
