Industrialization does decrease the birth rate, and if the carrying capacity of the planet was about 15 or 20 billion we could afford to wait for the nations of the earth to modernize with a subsequent peak and then decline in the population, but the carrying capacity is not that high. We will soon overtake it by any estimate (I personally believe we are well over it now), and the only method by which the human population can reach equilibrium is that which I've already mentioned.

The single solution to the majority of the worlds problems is simply to reduce birth rates. The failures of the Chinese policies do not negate the validity of the concept, rather, they show some of the problems of forced compliance. It's not crap! I think it's awful! All those poor children and mothers! I read that one mother was injected to bring on a still birth, but her daughter still came out alive. Then the doctors still tried to kill it by putting it out on a freezing cold balcony to freeze to death! But luckily kind nurses took pity and brought the baby inside. One child law should be universal. If women did'nt get pregnant in the first place they would'nt be forced into an abortion. The world is having a huge imbalance of poor people. How many children you have should be based on how much money you have.

Umm, people that think population control is awful. think about this. If population doubles every 60 years, then around the year 3030 every person will have only 1 square foot of land left. right now we only have about 480' x 480' per person

Excellent-from the introduction of Mao to the supposed benefits to be had by the only child. It does paint a picture that Mao was "pro-people" and that his policies were successful because the population increased. His policies, though, caused millions of death.

Video is excellent in portraying the human rights violations and does so in a fast-paced manner.

I agree one child policy is cruel, but do you have any suggestion otherwise? If it hasn't been done, China might have 2 billion now, and the video would be why didn't China listen to the world back then to come up with a plan to control the population.  Nothing is perfect, you have to look at the big picture.

this was really really good...however to make it better you might want to continue the music through the pauses in your pictures. that way it is not so much of a shock when you stop then start again
