I loved that show as a kid. It was fun to watch. This brings back fond memories. I remember that show was brought back as part of the 'Groovy Goolies and Friends' show in the late '70s and early '80s (without the live action parts). Thanks for posting.
Congratulations on posting, I remember that this cartoon came in Brazil in 78 or 79, simply called Waldo Kitty and I always waited for your replay, that never happened, the opening theme is awesome; A hug!
heh heh, good luck finding it, I haven't seen that since I was like 9 years old, when it was syndicated with the "Groovie Ghoulies And Friends" show. (Even then the "Robin Hood", "Tarzan" & "Lone Ranger" ones were shown most frequently.) BCI's Ink & Paint were releasing the Filmation catalog, but they've since gone out of business.
You'd think when the Filmation animated Star Trek was released on DVD they would have added that as a bonus feature.
@bcrkris Awww. I wonder if it was produced but never aired? To be honest I did not think Waldo Kitty really was any good. I saw a video of it along with other cartoons on a UAV cartoon compilation and it was really tedious to watch. The characters and story was weak and did not go anywhere and the animation was a bit cheap. It was like Wacky And Packy except that it wasnt as silly. I do not think the show was really a hit with audiences unlike Fat Albert which lasted forever.
@TheArsenalgooner Oh I can understand. It is great for what it is, but of course I had no idea at the time, it was placed in between old Bugs Bunny cartoons so it felt really out of place!

@bcrkris It is on youtube, but in french (épisode 5: Le Chapitaine). There are more Star Trek episodes I think, because this show has 13 episodes at all (look at imdb), and only 5 different heros for the Cat.
Oh by the way, excuse my english 'cause I'm french...
Mrskipling, Thank Youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu very much. Would you be kind enough and write the lyrics of this song? Thank you.
The Star Trek parody they did was dead-on, funny, and pre-dated the Animaniacs version by 20 years.

The "K" in the Waldo Kitty logo looks like an "X".

Each animated cat dropping represents the superheroes of Batman, Tarzan, Robin Hood, Captain James T. Kirk, and The Lone Ranger.

And that was the voice of Howard Morris (1919-2005) who sung the intro to this series as well playing the voice of Waldo Kitty.
