07:38 Messerchmitt bubble car. One front opening door and no reverse. Drive it up against the wall of a garage and you'd be trapped until discovered ! XD
I wouldn't go back, although it was nice in some ways, and hardly any cars. It was also VERY VERY BORING. Shops were always shut. No restaurants. Food - very restricted range. No music on the radio till the pirates came in 1964. Sundays were GHASTLY - nothing on telly till evening. Only 2 channels. Both full of terrible comedy and so-called variety shows. Really terrible stuff - Black & White Minstrels and all that. Vile pap. Cars were cute though, and more buses.

@muscleco Though I do agree with you in some ways, I do wish I could go back to those more simpler times when people especially children had respect for each other, you could have the minstrels on the telly without being branded racist, what was on the telly wasn't filth and Sundays were still a peaceful day of rest and relaxation.
Love the cars at 7:35, Heinkel Trojan and Messerschmitt KR200. We own a few of kr200s ourselves! Even the 4 wheeler model, with a twin cylinder 500cc engine.
5p and 10p coins had already been out for a couple of years, so it was perfectly possible to pay for it with a 5p and a 10p- if a book about "On the Buses" was indeed your cup of tea.
I did live in those times but hey were hard, and these ads aren't quite representative of the majority of homes and people at the time, most of who had outdoor toilets and no bathrooms or proper heating, sweet rationing only ended in the fifties!.
let all the good people go back to the better times, and leave all the drug addicts/pushers,muggers,paedo's and european immigrants behind, but most of all the the corrupt government
Hadn't seen that public service broadcast about rude motoring for years. Its message is more relevant now then when it was first shown in the late 50's early 60's. Who has not seen a "Road Hog" motorist, or considered turning into Lucifer, when crossing a road is only possible with a little give or take. It is comforting to know that RR is not a modern invention
MRS. Flash lol lol...Sea Witches...who makes this stuff up? Gotta love it! Oh - and I remember when KitKats were wrapped in foil. Wish we could have those days back...
haha i love the idea of the kitchen left like the battlefield of waterloo after wellington had left it hahaha but anyway use polyroll to clean it up hahaha
@UKSazzy67 Politically correct times? Where?? Like invading countries illegally and murdering hundreds of thousands of innocent civillians? Yeah, very politically correct. Riiiight.
lolguymilne,if you lived in those times, you would not have been able to watch you tube or post comments!! seriously, i do get your point. i was growing up in the 70's and remember it fondly.people earned less, but were happier and they respected each other.the cars didnt look too bad either.i remember my orange morris marina quite often. sigh!!
Mrs Flash? ROFLMAO - should have been a squadron of ladies in fur coats (and no knickers).........bet the lads would have liked that better than a stupid old mop and ten quid!
Im afraid you cant Double Diamond isnt brewed any more allegedly, and thats why the lads dress lake lases these days. TUT TUT TUT> As fro them women on the rocks, they look like they had their hair donee in Burnley last week.
Some of these ads wouldn't go to air these days. You can't say that "this is a beer for men!" You can't imply that a beer improves your masculinity, or chances with women.
@OldSetonian And Eleanor Summerfield on his right. She was married to Leonard Sachs of The Good Old Days. Ever noticed how Harry Locke is in EVERY British film of the 40's and 50's, usually as a doorman, general factotum etc?
I'm researching British Adverts at the moment. If anyone has any unusual or rare footage of Ads from the 50s 60s 70s. It's hard to find them, does anyone know of any that aren't on youtube?
1:08 sorry but that's just offensive to men. Spending too much, every pot and pan, messing up kitchens, cannot do simple cooking, women clear up. HAHAHAHAA. I'm the one who wears the apron in my house!!!!
