I don't understand why Legolas shoots him, though. This happened in an entirely different part of the book, so we have nothing to go by. Surely Legolas, being the skillful archer that he is wouldn't have missed his target? But why would he try to shoot Grima after Theoden tried to talk Grima into returning to Rohan, free from Saruman? Am I the only one who was a bit puzzled by this? I can't see Legolas intentionally killing Grima, yet to miss his target would be out of character. :/
