I love this movie, but I think if it weren't for the wicked soundtrack and the awesome job Aaliyah did playing Akasha, the bad acting would be much more obvious. Still one of the better vampire movies, in my opinion.

I don't think Tom Cruise would have been any better even with this soundtrack. He screwed up Lestat for me. Stuart Townsend put a drop of Lestat back but until we can find a real good actor (Rutger Hauer would've been perfect in his younger days) to play Lestat, I can live with this version.

Yeah, this film is not as deeply philosophical as Interview with the Vampire, and Townsend was never as convincing as Cruise was, but that was never the goal. This film was only meant to be badass in modern times with beast soundtrack, and that's exactly what it is. This started my affection for leather clothing and while it's not that solid as a movie, I'll take it over any shit that's came out in recent years. Lestat is a fuckin beast.

Dude, not to mention: Have any of you guys noticed that some of the popular and faved stars who have passed away in our time have always ended up playing in dark setting type movies? For example: Brandon Lee (THE CROW), Heath Ledger (THE DARK KNIGHT), Brittany Murphy (ABANDONED {which is a movie I haven't seen but heard it was a thriller}), and Aaliyah (THE QUEEN OF THE DAMNED). That's kinda a trip!
