I've had Physical Sciatic Nerve Pain for 6 months in the past, Excercise as well as some natural movement positions removed that pain. Now 10 years later I tried No Flush NIACIN 300MG, TAKEN 3 X DAILY, Whole Foods Vegetarian capsule + vitamin C +Chromium. Sometimes you have to choose the lesser of two evils in life. Anything, that causes severe pain in life, is something that was un-invited, circumstances beyond our control , that caused us to hurt our back, or be burned. Diet can never alone alleviate you of some pains in life. What about the person in the car wreck that had an arm or leg cut off. Meat and potatoes and herbs will never take away this pain. All negative info about drugs that help lots of people on this channel. If thay wheren't addictive, thay would find something else to say about them like how thay kill so many fish in the sea etc.
How are you on such high doses of meds? Ive been on percocet 10/325 twice a day for years and I can not manage my pain with this tiny amount, my doctor doesn't want to increase me and he doesn't understand how hard it is going through every day on 2 freakin pills!!
THERE ARE TOO MANY VARIABLES WITH PAIN. IF SOME PEOPLE END UP DRUG DEPENDENT, SO WHAT? IF THAT'S THE LAST RESORT SO BE IT. OBVIOUSLY THIS GUY DOESN'T GET MIGRAINES THAT 150MG OF INJECTED DEMEROL DOESN'T TOUCH...AND THAT'S NOT BECAUSE OF TOLERANCE. THAT HAPPENED WHEN THE PERSON WAS ON NO PAIN MEDS...AND WHO CAN AFFORD EASTERN ACCUPUNCTURE??? THIS GUY HAS TUNNEL VISION AND DOESN'T LIVE IN THE REAL WORLD.

This guy is a chiropractor doctor! haha! That's why he doesn't believe in these pain pills (I take Oxycontin 60mg 3X a day and Oxycodode 10-325mg 6X a day). These chiropractor's are hippies pretty much and are all about the weird ways to heal pain.
These people are right, this guy has NO IDEA what pain is. I would hate if this guy was an M.D. in my area. F-that.
I had CHRONIC CRPS/RSD.
My doctor DEFINITELY understands... this guy is a dumbass.
3 years ago i had to get most of my intestines removed, i'm 19 now and i've been on and off corticosteriods with no relief either way. The only time i could even think of getting on with my life was when i was on opiates(which i was on for about a month then was taken off because the doc thought i may get addicted). Even as i'm writing this i'm in alot of pain and if it goes on like this i honestly dont know how i'm gonna keep putting up with this pain.
Don't listen to this whack job... "you're the same as a drug addict", give me a break. He doesn't know the first thing about pain management, let alone truth about opiod medication.
bamboo4tameshigirl is absolutely right...been there, doing that now. Natural does NOT work, diet and exercise do NOT work, and if you don't have chronic pain you have absolutely NO IDEA what you're talking about...walk a mile in my shoes...
This guy is an idiot, he has probably never experienced anything more than a minor headache. I suffer with chronic back pain and I tried everything including surgery before taking drugs. I've tried all sorts of alternative remedies and spent a fortune on herbal products from the internet. This guy is talking bullshit. I have tried all the diets he has suggested but it didn't make any difference. Opioid therapy is the only thing that has restored some quality of life.
Purdue is the best pharmacuetical company there is devoted to pain management. I have chronic moderate to severe pain from MHE and Fibromyalgia and I NEED my Dilaudid/Fentanyl to receive relief. I've tried Lyrica, Cymbalta, Tricyclics and they do nothing to touch my pain. Supplements/herbs are so wimpy and should only be indicated for minor pain as they do next to nothing for my level of pain.
This sounds like therapy for minor pain, not for moderate to severe pain. Strong opioid therapy is not meant for treating drug addicts as you seem to think: that's what methadone is for. Severe chronic pain is what opioid therapy is meant for. Your form of therapy seems to be targeted towards people with low tolerance for pain and a large probability of accepting a placebo effect as a form of treatment. "Avoid Austin Wellness for severe pain management"? Thanks for the advice...
This guy is of his rocker i have had chronic migraines for 3 years and opiates are all that have ever worked for me. I changed me diet completely no caffeine no alcohol and i see a nutritionist to balance my diet. Still after all that no difference i can't be a father to my kids with out the opioid therapy. I have been to some of the best Dr. in NY and they would never say anything like this man good luck to any of his patience.
This doctor needs to read "Opioid Therapy in the 21st Century"
He doesnt know the difference between drug addicts and pseudo-addiction. Drug seeking behavior for the purpose of pain relief and not for euphoria.
I guess the next thing he is going to say is diabetics are drug addicts for taking insulin.
Someone without pain doesnt need pain killers, just like bodybuilders dont need insulin, but people with intractable pain do need pain killers just like diabetics need insulin.
This doctor should have his licensed revoked. Opioids gave me life back. I am 26 and was in a severe car wreck. I know have metal rods in my back and screws in my shoulder.
I wouldnt be able to go to school or work without my medication. I hope this ahole gets in a bad carwreck and I will just tell him to have a better diet.
What a moron. I wish he felt what I feel in my feet/legs/hands for 2 minutes! Plus I have face cancer along with damaged nerves from diabetes peripheral nueropathy. My god, the pain is so bad even during the night that I literally scream out in pain, all alone in my apartment- just moaning in pain through the night... The night , which I don't know why is worse. Yeah.. I'll get my zen...When I'm dead!!
I won't prescribe that you can do some breathing tehnique, zen, natural diet to "heal" my back that has prominent disc degeneration. I have been taking the least amount of pain relievers for a yr and that's the only thing that keeps me able to function as far as doing my daily things to keep me alive.
I didn't take anything to relieve my pain for 10 yrs - I lived with it in agony and now I have congestive heart failure because of it - caused by high bp from the chronic pain.
You sound similar to me...I also waited many years to ask for help with my pain. Just 2 weeks ago I was ambulanced to the ER as a result of a severe panic attack (1st one in nearly 50 yrs)
Years of daily untreated pain can create unforseen issues.
The medical 'world' says theres no cure for chronic pain, ok, but why they continue to withhold what relief they do have seems to be nothing more than a power trip for many docs.
I agree with you. I've had chronic pain for 10 years, and was an expert Martial Artist when it started. So I know I don't need anymore Zen. What I need is something for pain relief. I see a pain manage doctor for the 1st time wednesday.
What about those people who's pain will NOT heal?? I've had many back surgeries, I have had facets and epidurals and eating better, I stopped smoking, NOTHING. I've had 3 Dr's tell me there is nothing else left for me but Pain management. It's Dr's like you that creep me out.
@Deeppurple1972 Same here. I've had chronic pain for 10 years. Plus I was an expert in Martial arts when it started, knowing how to control my mind completely. It didn't help at all. Pain killers seem to be the only thing that works for me. I see my pain management doc for the 1st time wednesday. Any ideas what to expect?
PS: I tried acupuncture/pressure, meditation--limited success here--and the part about opiates not working, I stand by my statement: I would not be alive, no possible way, without having hydrocodone. Trust me.
Anyone who takes regular doses of opiates IS dependant on the drug. Addiction is when the use of a drug continues dispite undesirable effects like unemployment, not being able to afford to eat etc. If you are dependant your not necessarily an addict. We all have the choice as to how we deal with our pain, unfortunatley opium is illegal even though it's natural, and we are forced to eat synthesised salts, sulphates and the like, derived from opium.
Shortly after, my meds were abruptly withdrawn. No Dr seems interested at all in why I have pain. I have tried alternate medicines like Neurontin, Zoloft and I stopped them altogether due to side affects that were worst than Levorphanol. In fact, I did not have any side effects from Levorphanol using 30 tabs per 28 days.
They call it Dr shopping here in North Dakota also. If you have been to another Doctor within the past six months, you are Dr shopping. I used Levo Dromoram generic 2mg tabs on occasion for 27 years. One day the North Dakota Medical board, decided to intimidate all the Medical Drs in North Dakota.
I would hate to live without my celebrex, lidoderm and opoiods. My blood is all out of whack also. It just seems like a blanket condemnation of medice. I've dealt with chronic pain for 15 years and yes it would be great if those things actually worked but you can only get pain control by using many things in combination. Its just easy to say but untill you've lived don't decide for me or call me a drug addict. I'm able to work thanks to the drugs i use. i know narcon is available if I need it.
sorry, but i cannot "provide the proof" you desire. if you will not believe, such things youll never achieve. I discovered the power of the mind & the chi it directs at an early age on my own without being shown. I can show you the path but it must be walked not just talked. No, such is not for everyone because the easy way is seemingly more fun. People have been conditioned to search for healing in a chemical feeling, putting their hopes in legal dopes. It's never to late to change my friend.
Yes, pain is a good thing. It conducts awareness which channels healing energy. Own your pain, or it will own you. Resenting pain short circuits the capacity to conduct healing energy. The cure, is to patiently endure, Without resentment. Pain is trying to tell you something, you dont need to speak its language, just listen. in doing so you complete the circuit so energy can flow. Resist the pain & the pain will persist. Give in & you win, meaning, give from within, & soon you will sport a grin
Pain, What is it? of course everyone is familiar with it, yet few understand it. It is more than it seems on the surface. It of course is an alarm system of sorts, letting us know when are doing damage to ourselves. But, it is more than that, it induces healing by forcing you to focus your mind on the injury. This channels "chi" as it iscalled by some, ki by others. This is a healing energy akin to electricity & can be directed with attention. Pain meds short circuits this auto-repair funtion.
sorry about typos my "H" is stuck....Actually, I would agree with the Doc because I have tollerated muc pain in my life with NO pain killers. I now have Cronic pain everyday and every night. I can't even walk and still hurt and all I take is Lortab. It does not at all make me high and it does not get rid of the pain. You say that you would take pain meds if you had great pain but would get off. What if the pain never went away? Then what? You cannot fix every chronic pain issue.
I did a isometric on my hip area , holding the position for five minutes. I woke up and could not walk and my legs turned purple. My enitre bone structure moved. My hip are raised up and my bladder became stiff and my stomach bulged. I now cannot stand and have a low triangular bulge on my back. I cannot even move without something for the pain and no doctor will help me. Chiro pressed upward on my back and pused my hiatal up so high and can't breat right. help !
Try living with pain, sure celebrex and naproxsyn help but opioids are part of the program also. Sure diet will help but I can tell by listening to you that you have not yourself been through chronic pain. There is no reason to suffer. What do you do when your joint is already eroded?
well theres not much in the market replacement wise and I looked into fusing but no gaurantees and a really long down time. I have arthritis and it complicates things a bit as thats not the only joint problem :-(
Bullshit. It's people like this that have made it nearly impossible to obtain real pain relief in this country. I've tried everything from herbs (some I guarantee you've never heard of), NSAIDs, TENS, corticosteroids and opioids. The only things that really work are the corticosteroids and opioids. If you don't *HAVE* chronic pain you need to bite your tongue. As far as tissue damage, "healing" doesn't always fully happen in nerves. Diet and exercise *DOES NOT* cure everything.
I think it's the highly addictive nature of pain killers that tend to make it difficult to get them actually.
Dr. Bellonzi's approach is different than a conventional medical approach. It's called functional medicine. Instead of just addressing the symptoms of the pain, you attempt to locate an underlying cause for the pain and address that and he has had success at eliminating chronic pain from some people.
"I think it's the highly addictive nature of pain killers that tend to make it difficult to get them actually."
This video is crying wolf. This country is opoiophobic enough, more than almost all other civilized nations. If it wasn't for the fentanyl patch my dad would be a complete invalid. No amount of bananas or apples will make his life comfortable *or* help my back. If he wasn't a war vet., and tried to get medication like that in the civilian market, he would be SOL in this country.
That is not true at all.I have had chronic lower back pain for 15 yrs.I have never had a problem getting the pain meds.I needed to get pain relief. I have used Oxycontin, Morphine, Duragesic Patches"Fentanyl" and many others. I use Methadone now because it works very well. Doesn't fog up your head and its very Cheap. There are many Doctors in the U.S. that understand pain. And are not scared to give a Pain patient Meds.they need. So you do not have to be a vet. to get a good pain medication. :-)
goldsmithstudent YOU ARE SO RIGHT! They are nothing more in the eyes of the DEA then Legal DRUG DEALERS. Doctors these days know that too. I know people that go see their doctor for there Pain Meds. and the doctor charges them $100.00 a visit to write their Meds. The Doc. comes in the room for maybe 30 seconds to write the Meds. and Bang out the door the Doctor goes to the next Patient for another easy $100.00. And they book 3 and 4 people in the same time slot. "herding sheep for cash" Legally.
I rock climb constantly, and if I do it more than two or three times a week, my arms end up aching at night, to the point that I can't sleep...so I take a couple advil tablets. Is this something that I need to be afraid of? Can I really end up dependant on ibuprofen?
I generally eat pretty well(and I exercise, hence the rock climbing), but I'm a little delinquent with the vegetables.
"Is this something that I need to be afraid of? Can I really end up dependant on ibuprofen?"
No and no. Just don't take more than 800mg at any one time and never take large amounts for long periods. NSAIDs will eventually destroy your liver, among other things.
i higyl suggest taking well over 800mgs (in bamboo4tameshigiri's case)...that way you experience an overdose and die. LOL bamboo4tameshigiri , you just proved my latter assumption was correct...you are obviously OLD and a burnt out ex-hippy. Tsk tsk..someone got divorced and now compensates too much with the PC. lol i done with you..you are a disgrace. cheers.
durin9--Ibuprofen in low doses is ok on the human body. Just don't take it every day of the week. And always have a little food on your stomach before taking it. And NO Ibuprofen is Not "Addictive" Also you might want to take a supplement of glucosamine. As it will help with pain in your joints etc. from extreme exercise like rock climbing running, weight lifting etc. And even helps people with arthritis. I take it on a daily basis."Glucosamine" It helps me a lot besides pain medication.;-)
You make a lot of sense. Your video is too drab. Maybe some background music or something to liven up the drone of your voice. The information is vital but proper presentation is requested
Start playing an instrument people! The music its going down anyway it all done in basic from a long time...its great to release stress and transforming aggression in something good.I heard from lot of people that they give up drogs-when they started to play something.
now.....i know this has nothing to do with this video which is interesting as Psyche truth videos always are...but this morning i heard on the radeo that they've come out with Prozak for parrots!!! anti-depressent for a bird! what! i bird that can have withdrawl or something and bite ur face off......thats just insane i dont know what to think of it, besides it cant be good
For 2007 Fortune magazine gave Eli Lilly the second dumbness moment if business award for getting FDA approval for Prozac for dogs with anxiety issues. LOL
What would be the advice for someone who has severely deteriorating cartilage in both knees, but no insurance to afford the surgery? Pain killers or pain are the only two options that I know of. NSAID have terrible side effects even though they might not be as addictive and I cannot take these at all.
Take the opioids and maybe some corticosteroids. Don't listen to anyone who wants to call someone with chronic pain nothing but a drug addict. That's insane.
Thank you for taking your time to do these video's. I have been in pain through trauma ( my wife's illness) for the last 7 years! Today I gave myself the right to be upset and not to feel guilty and also the right to be well. I have felt the pain melt away! Literally melt away like a warmth draining through my body. I have kept active I swim a mile every week and I train in Karate! I am also a vegetarian. I decided today that this pain was not part of me, it was a symptom of past trauma.
I eat mostly USDA certified organic foods. I take vitamins to supplement that. I make myself exercise though my job is mostly sitting at a computer. I haven't had any pain killing drugs, not even aspirin or Tylenol for years. I saw the joy of living sapped out of my parents when they attained my current age and I vowed I would not follow that path. Thanks Vince for reinforcing my plans and for allot of useful information I was unfamiliar with.
What would you suggest for nerve pain where there is no healing? Atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia? Chiropractic does not help, neither does capsicum or chamomile.
saying "herbs will not"
lol, woops, apologies.

Hertsman50 1 year ago 6
Purdue is the best pharmacuetical company there is devoted to pain management. I have chronic moderate to severe pain from MHE and Fibromyalgia and I NEED my Dilaudid/Fentanyl to receive relief. I've tried Lyrica, Cymbalta, Tricyclics and they do nothing to touch my pain. Supplements/herbs are so wimpy and should only be indicated for minor pain as they do next to nothing for my level of pain.
Globodyne 1 year ago

DEVINandHILLARY 2 years ago

Wish you well, and even better health!
yourright100 2 years ago
What an asshole.
To tell those of us that actually live in pain that all we need to do is get our "zen" on is a slap in the face
Docs have nothing to gain by giving relief to patience they can make BIG BUCKS off of by multiple, noneffective treatments
Ive been there Ive done that and I'm done being cut up and left worse
Give me my meds and shut the hell up!
If those of us who seek relief by way of medication are "addicts" then the Docs are the drug dealers!
yourright100 2 years ago
I agree with you. I've had chronic pain for 10 years, and was an expert Martial Artist when it started. So I know I don't need anymore Zen. What I need is something for pain relief. I see a pain manage doctor for the 1st time wednesday.

What about those people who's pain will NOT heal?? I've had many back surgeries, I have had facets and epidurals and eating better, I stopped smoking, NOTHING. I've had 3 Dr's tell me there is nothing else left for me but Pain management. It's Dr's like you that creep me out.
Deeppurple1972 2 years ago 19
@Deeppurple1972 Same here. I've had chronic pain for 10 years. Plus I was an expert in Martial arts when it started, knowing how to control my mind completely. It didn't help at all. Pain killers seem to be the only thing that works for me. I see my pain management doc for the 1st time wednesday. Any ideas what to expect?

PS: I tried acupuncture/pressure, meditation--limited success here--and the part about opiates not working, I stand by my statement: I would not be alive, no possible way, without having hydrocodone. Trust me.
ambj219 2 years ago 2
Anyone who takes regular doses of opiates IS dependant on the drug. Addiction is when the use of a drug continues dispite undesirable effects like unemployment, not being able to afford to eat etc. If you are dependant your not necessarily an addict. We all have the choice as to how we deal with our pain, unfortunatley opium is illegal even though it's natural, and we are forced to eat synthesised salts, sulphates and the like, derived from opium.

kp68hc11a1 2 years ago
Shortly after, my meds were abruptly withdrawn. No Dr seems interested at all in why I have pain. I have tried alternate medicines like Neurontin, Zoloft and I stopped them altogether due to side affects that were worst than Levorphanol. In fact, I did not have any side effects from Levorphanol using 30 tabs per 28 days.
kp68hc11a1 2 years ago
They call it Dr shopping here in North Dakota also. If you have been to another Doctor within the past six months, you are Dr shopping. I used Levo Dromoram generic 2mg tabs on occasion for 27 years. One day the North Dakota Medical board, decided to intimidate all the Medical Drs in North Dakota.

If you ever are prescribed antidepressants, be sure to report any side affect to the FDA as it is usually stated on your prescription statement.

I do not, as most people, believe in "chi"...show more evidence and i'll listen xaedmon.

sorry about typos my "H" is stuck....Actually, I would agree with the Doc because I have tollerated muc pain in my life with NO pain killers.

Try living with pain, sure celebrex and naproxsyn help but opioids are part of the program also. Sure diet will help but I can tell by listening to you that you have not yourself been through chronic pain. There is no reason to suffer. What do you do when your joint is already eroded?

either replace it or fuse it together

well theres not much in the market replacement wise and I looked into fusing but no gaurantees and a really long down time.

Diet and exercise *DOES NOT* cure everything.
bamboo4tameshigiri 3 years ago 14
I think it's the highly addictive nature of pain killers that tend to make it difficult to get them actually.
Dr. Bellonzi's approach is different than a conventional medical approach. It's called functional medicine. Instead of just addressing the symptoms of the pain, you attempt to locate an underlying cause for the pain and address that and he has had success at eliminating chronic pain from some people.
psychetruth 3 years ago
"I think it's the highly addictive nature of pain killers that tend to make it difficult to get them actually."
This video is crying wolf. This country is opoiophobic enough, more than almost all other civilized nations. If it wasn't for the fentanyl patch my dad would be a complete invalid. No amount of bananas or apples will make his life comfortable *or* help my back. If he wasn't a war vet., and tried to get medication like that in the civilian market, he would be SOL in this country.
bamboo4tameshigiri 3 years ago

I'm curious as to the effects of ibuprofen.
I rock climb constantly, and if I do it more than two or three times a week, my arms end up aching at night, to the point that I can't sleep...so I take a couple advil tablets. Is this something that I need to be afraid of? Can I really end up dependant on ibuprofen?
I generally eat pretty well(and I exercise, hence the rock climbing), but I'm a little delinquent with the vegetables.
durin9 3 years ago
"Is this something that I need to be afraid of? Can I really end up dependant on ibuprofen?"
No and no. Just don't take more than 800mg at any one time and never take large amounts for long periods. NSAIDs will eventually destroy your liver, among other things.
bamboo4tameshigiri 3 years ago
i higyl suggest taking well over 800mgs (in bamboo4tameshigiri's case)...that way you experience an overdose and die. LOL bamboo4tameshigiri , you just proved my latter assumption was correct...you are obviously OLD and a burnt out ex-hippy. Tsk tsk..someone got divorced and now compensates too much with the PC. lol i done with you..you are a disgrace. cheers.
SwallowerOfPlanets9 3 years ago
durin9--Ibuprofen in low doses is ok on the human body.

NSAID have terrible side effects even though they might not be as addictive and I cannot take these at all.
